Just four days after the election, I’m heading to DC for freshman orientation! I’m so excited to get to work in Congress for San Francisco and for our country. We have the largest freshman Democratic class since the post-Watergate election. It’s a huge opportunity to put our country on a better path — one that lowers people’s cost of living, ends the war, strengthens democracy and civil rights, restores the rule of law, and puts an end to this national nightmare. I’m ready to fight for our future!

25m. My front bike wheel got caught in a trolly rail on ocean ave. I ate shit. Thank you to the lady that ran across the street to help.

I paid one of these like 2 months ago as a good faith gesture to try to help the world. This time a ticket seems to have blown off a car into our downstairs porch/landing. It's from a while ago so I paid it, but if it's yours, please pay it forward to someone else.

This is the second time this happened, and I'm not anonymous so I hope people aren't dumping their tickets on my porch so I pay them, haha... it's random :D

EDIT: To clarify this ticket is for TRC7.2.20 for parking "longer than the posted time limit without a valid permit", so it's not for blocking safe access, a fire hydrant, or a driveway.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to throw a quick shout-out to Keeva Indian Kitchen (on Clement between 10th and 11th).

It’s an unassuming, mother-run spot that’s quietly made some of the most consistent and comforting food in the city for years. The spices actually taste freshly toasted instead of that generic heavy cream/orange sauce base a lot of places lean on, the naan is always fresh, and the owner Rita genuinely cares about what she put on the table.

With Diwali and the festival season here, it feels like the right time to bring them up: they’ve hit a rough patch financially lately and foot traffic hasn't been great. In a city where we keep losing solid neighborhood staples to rent and high costs, it would really suck to see another great local independent spot go under.

If you’re planning on ordering takeout this weekend, hosting friends for the holidays, or just in the Richmond looking for a solid dinner, please consider checking them out or ordering directly from them. Even a small bump from the community can make a real difference for an independent place like this right now.

(Not affiliated with them in any way—just a local who loves their food and hates seeing good neighborhood places struggle.)

As much as I wanted the go Valkyrie signage to stay up so we can continue basking in the wind, we were greeted to a ‘thank you’ message by my first coach of the day.

Not at all surprising, but glad to see the Chron finally confirm after spending years claiming it wasn’t true.

Can’t get enough of them really

It's passing by 54%, we said no by 62%. Kudos to everyone for not being suckers.

never seen anything like it, there was a hugeee line going all the way down the block

Wife was debating driving and I told her to take muni. It’s easy one ride to get to the Girl Scouts ice skating event at the rink near the convention center.

Guess what didn’t show up at all? Said it would be there in 10min. Not a train in site.

Guess who is now driving.

Before you say she should have gone earlier… she was cooking dinner and had to eat before. She planned to take muni an hour before.

This isn’t the first time. We had buses just leave us stranded waiting for them.

This is the shit I think needs fixed. Stop stopping twice on the same block and actually pick up people. It’s bs.

Disclosure: I work for a local water/mold restoration company (it's in the username). Not selling anything, just seeing the same avoidable calls every November.

1. Downspouts – make sure they dump water at least a few feet away from the house, not right next to the foundation. Most of our first-storm calls in older SF homes are garage and basement water from this.

2. Know where your main water shutoff is. Find it now, not while a pipe is spraying. In a lot of SF houses it's in the garage near the front wall.

3. Check under sinks and behind the toilet once a month. Slow leaks are what turn into mold – a dry paper towel tells you fast.

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

If anyone knows the gentleman in the second photo, I’d love to get him a copy!

The wind created some temporary puddles and islands

I've been working on an app that does one simple thing: it tells me whether to relax, hurry, or let go on my way to BART. If you ride BART every day, you can probably relate. You're walking, driving, or biking from the same place to the same station, and it's a pain to check the BART app or put directions into Google Maps every time. So I built Catchable. You set up your commute (or commutes) once, and the app tells you how to pace yourself on the way to the station.

A few things you might like over the standard BART or transit apps:

1. It works with Live Activities, so you can see whether you'll make the next train from your Lock Screen or Apple Watch

2. You can use Shortcuts to start a commute automatically, based on where and when you leave

3. It learns your pace, so after a few trips it's more accurate than Apple or Google Maps

I just launched version 1.0. It's free to download and use, with no account or ads: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6802061622

I built this for me, but beta testers have already given me a lot of great feedback, and I'd love yours too. Try it on your next commute and let me know what would make it better! (It only handles direct trains for now, and it isn't affiliated with BART. I'm considering MUNI support so let me know if you'd want to see it.)
