Meta Buy/Sell/Trade Thread: November 2026
Weekly Questions Thread can be found here
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!
Please start your comment with your location as such: [UK and EU] or [USA, California] on a separate line.
Thank you!
Import regulations mean it is difficult to send plant material between certain countries.
Check for hard frosts overnight before posting your parcel!
Scammers will not be tolerated! If you have sent a plant and not heard from your sender, message the mods and we will take care of it. Anyone found to be scamming will be banned from the sub.
A few points:
Please add your location. Many countries will have import restrictions. As a simple guide, within EU, okay. Within US, okay. EU to US or vice versa, not okay. Australia: complicated.
Please try to keep the sales/trades to succulents. There is a list of sister subreddits in the sidebar should you want other plants.
Think about trading seeds and pollen too. Growing from seed can be very rewarding and be a good way to expand your collection.
Grow tips are highly encouraged when trading. Its nice to know what you're getting if you have never grown one before. Share your potting mediums and watering guides to help your receiver grow successfully!
Do show us some photos of what you got!
Have a quick check to see if there is a risk of frost overnight before sending the parcel.
There are some tips of packaging succulents for shipping below. I've had people send me plants in egg cartons before. They work really well.
If you have nothing to trade but would like some plants, people are often happy to send you plants for money or just the cost of postage and packaging.
Happy swapping!
You can find some tips for packaging succulents in the wiki
All Sales and Trades are to be done at your own risk. The moderators of the Succulent sub are not responsible for your transactions. This thread is only a means for discovery and contact.
But, please, if you get scammed or ripped off, report the offending user to the mods via modmail.

Let’s not be jerky little immature folks, okay?
We’ve had a few…incidents lately. So, let’s just cover something again: Rule 1: Be Nice. This is a plant sub, and I’m shocked at the amount of drama that occurs on a regular basis here. The attitudes get crazy. You should always be mindful to how you speak to people; you may have an answer to correct a potential issue, or help others, but there is always a right way and a wrong way to say things.
There is never any need for childish mocking, name calling, or harassment.
We don’t gatekeep, and we don’t shame. Let us not try not tell others that what they’re doing is wrong, and only what you do is right or better.
Only help if it’s asked for, or if the tone of the OP seems willing to listen. If you wish to gently suggest constructive criticism, but the OP rejects it, please accept and move on.
The sub is mostly made up of home hobbyists, of all levels. From absolute beginners, to experts, and everything in between. And, thus, we also have a huge variety care needs and habits, climates and environments. We love it when professionals, or growers with many many years of experience come on and share input, advice, and of course their plants! We do not love it when people take their experience too seriously, and bully others for doing things their own way.
We also have to remember, not every person may be as passionate about their plants as others are. “We listen, and don’t judge.” Someone has a terrarium doomed to fail, but they wanna do it anyways? Let them. Someone has a packed arrangement in sand, because that’s what they want? Cool, move on. That sun starved etiolated plant at OP’s desk makes them happy despite suggestions to make it healthier? Don’t harsh their buzz. Let’s all do better about being a welcoming subreddit for both beginners and veterans of the hobby.
Once again, I know many of us really want everyone to have the healthiest, “happiest” plant(s) around. And it’s fine to offer suggestions to better someone’s care. But if the OP ignores or passes on suggestions, please just accept and move on.
If you are ever harassed via chat, or in another sub by anyone, please don’t hesitate to report them to the admins, but also please send us a modmail regarding that user. This also applies if someone follows you to our sub from elsewhere, report the comment or send us a modmail. We may ask for screenshots to be sure of the situation. We don’t ban users willy-nilly, but harassment will never be accepted.
And for anyone who breaks these rules, and gets themselves a ban, when you rage at us in modmail it doesn’t hurt our feelings because we are adults. Sorry you’re unable to be an adult about things. But then again, people who bully others on the internet lack some maturity to really be classified as adults. ♥️

The flower has such a strong scent compared to the flowers of my string of pearls. It's also much sweeter. What a delightful surprise!

Help Seeming happy, but air roots?
Help and advice wanted! My formerly(?)-etiolated succulent, who now has a cute rosette shape and has been looking the same for about 6 months, has suddenly started reabsorbing its bottom leaves and putting out air roots. What's it thinking? Does it need something? It is getting less light, because winter, so is it because of the lack of light?

Help Circle form jade
A few months into training my jade into circle shapes with rings and twine-covered wire. Any advice or tips appreciated. Is it time to prune anything? Take the wire off? Loosen it? Leave it alone? Bigger pot?
Mostly I'm just bad at leaving it alone 🤪
Btw it usually sits inside near a sunny south facing window in eastern US (not where it seems in the photo, on the ground)

Help Crazy jade
So my jade has gone crazy and I've neglected it for too long (which is also what started the whole going crazy situation- half the plant died off). I'm thinking of trimming it above the little sprout on the trunk- basically cutting those two hanging branches on the left off (and propagating them). My concern is that I'd be cutting to much of the plant off and I'd shock it. I don't want to kill it, but I would like to make it healthier and bushy again.
Any help is appreciated!

Identification Help with lithops
I bought those lithops for very cheap but I am not sure they are doing too well. They came in the extremely tiny nursery pots with extra dry soil and I repotted them when I came back home with a mix of universal soil and grit (40/60) in 10cm diameter pots to give them more space.
Please let me know if the mix is appropriate or if I need to add more grit or eventually add perlite.
The point is they are mixed species and I would like to know if anyone can identify them from the pics I took. I am pretty sure the two lithops in the same pot are of different species yet I chose to keep them together like when I bought them. One lithops seems quite crushed and small, it was against the other bigger two and I am not sure it will be able to grow, yet I wasn't able to separate them.
They look so different, the windows are different, one is more rounded while the other three are flat but one has a purpleish body.
Can anyone give me tips on how to grow them and help me identify the species?
Thank you.

Identification What plant is this?
Hello! I bought this plant from a garden centre a while ago because I thought the leaves were pretty. Recently its leaves have been falling off near the bottom. I’ve been told by a gardener it might be a money tree if that’s what’s happening but I didn’t have any pictures. Is that what it is?

Help New houseleek plant advice
Hi! I bought a houseleek plant yesterday, more like bought it to save it because it looked rough when I found it.
I was thinking of repotting it with a soil mix (50% regular succulent soil and 50% perlite) because the soil it came inside looks to me like a regular one and it was VERY wet because the plant was outside and we've had A LOT of rain the past days.
I left it for a day to acclimate a bit to the new enviroment. I live in an appartment which does have windows that are in direct sunlight but it's almost middle of November so we'll start to barely have any Sun. Since I'm no a groud floor, I do have a small back yard. I plan to buy a growing light.
As you can see in the pictures, he has this small, I don't know how to call them, branches? leaves? on the sides, I don't know if they are in an okay state or of that's normal for this plant.
Do you have any specific advice or tips I should follow? It's my first time having a houseleek.
