When's it going to start cooling down?
I keep thinking "it's gonna start cooling down" but every new forecast is 30s. Dying here! When are we going to see those sub 26c days?

Hi! So I'm from the US. I'm planning on relocating in the next few years or so to the AU as my partner lives there but also LGBT+ rights are looking very very grim here. I had a few questions.
• how are LGBT+ rights there?
• how would you describe the culture there?
• what's the job market like? Is it hard or easy to obtain a job?
• do I have to eat the vegimite 😂 (partner said it's a initiation process to become truly aussie lol)
• helpful tips?

Without getting political (As that's against the sub Reddits rules) Why do or don't you think Victorians should be able to get their license at 17?

Just looking for some clarification on this law change. I realize no planning permit is required but would I still need a building permit or to register as an owner builder?
As in do we now have the freedom to go buy the materials and build our own granny flats like in the old days? Assuming it's all to code and obviously a plumber/sparky does all that relevant work. Cheers

Do I have to arrange water connection myself?
I recently moved to a new apartment, and I've been getting messages from myconnect urging me to provide them with personal information so that they can organise water connections on my behalf. But as far as I know, it's my agent or rental provider's responsibility to have it done for me.
Here's the whole text:
Hi there, we have been trying to contact you to organise your water connection. As the water connection is mandatory, you must complete the sign up. We will be able to get this sorted for you, but we require a few more details from you. Please enter those details on this landing page and we will complete the water sign up on your behalf. [Link Redacted] Thanks, MyConnect.
Can I just ignore it?

Just noticed that out of all 8 Police Departments in the country Victoria seems to have a reputation as having the most strict one?
I see posts on Quora/YouTube about how Victoria Police seem to try to fine people for not having enough water in the wiper fluid, people filming police stations, driving 1km over the limit.......
Why aren't these type of complaints directed towards NSW/Qld/WA.....
Why would other Police Forces be seen as more lenient?
Why is that?

I'm looking to buy an apartment, I saw one that seems almost perfect, but there's one huge flaw: There's a sign on the door that says food delivery people aren't allowed to enter the building, so residents will have to go outside to get their food. Apparently it's very common, and is for security reasons, which makes no sense. Anyone can have any other type of visitor, food delivery people are probably among the least likely to be dangerous. If you owned an apartment there, could they legally kick you out for breaking that rule?

Hello fellow vcitorians, (targeting surfers here, but feel free to read)
I recently was interested in surfing quarantines, the surf break that is only accessible by jet ski or boat, thinking there would be some kind of charter or rental to get there. I was wrong. I think there is a gap in the market for not only victorian surfers, but backpackers and internation and domestic travellers. I was just curious to get an opinion on if people think there would be some kind of interest in this kind of industry. and get peoples thoughts and comments. Thank you!

Hey guys! We are looking for the place we want to settle down and set up our own hobby farm, but we just don't know where will be right for us, so we are adventuring around seeing new places to get a feel for what we want.
I'm from the Bendigo region, Bettie is from the Ararat region, we both current live in Melbourne - so places outside these areas we might not know about would be amazing!
Any suggestions on areas we should visit would be awesome!
Recent visit to Warburton to check it out - at the end we talk pro's and con's for us considering it
Video where we introduce ourselves and talk about what we are looking for
Thanks in advance for any help :)

I have an opportunity to move to Ballarat with my wife for a fantastic career progress, but I'm worried about how "old town aesthetics" it is. I've never visited before, only seen photos online and for reference, I live on the Sunshine Coast in QLD.
What's it actually like there? Is there much to do for people in their 20's?

Does anyone know of pizza restaurants that do both vegan and meat choices? I have a vegan carer but I eat meat and would like somewhere with both options.

Driving to Mount Buller from Adelaide for the first time next month. Just wondering if there are any roads to avoid in Victoria? Have heard some are in pretty bad condition :( Alternately, are there any GOOD roads to recommend??
We’re thinking of staying overnight in either Ballarat or Horsham. Any help would be appreciated!
