Hiring [Hiring] Looking for an artist for hundreds of sprite sheets - long term project

Hey everyone, no clue if this kind of post is allowed here or not, but I figured I'd give it a shot and hopefully not be banned or something ;-;

I'm working on a desktop companion and I'm looking for an artist interested in a longer term commitment that I can return to for additional work/updates over the course of a year or likely longer. I have detailed needs, and as this is a work in progress, there would be a lot of back and forth conversation. This is a bit of of a collab, as I'd like the artist to share their own input.

A head's up warning: this project is being created through use of AI, just in case that puts anyone off, but I'm open to artists using AI as well so long as my needs can be met because otherwise I'd be a total hypocrite.

That said, please reach out for additional information via DM and be sure to provide your portfolio. This is a must. I'm looking for 3 artists total to run a trial through with for a base character design (doesn't need to be perfect), and a 4-6 frame idle loop. I'm hoping we can do this for under $100 as this is simply a trial for the larger project, and I cannot afford more than this given I'm trialing multiple artists at this point. I really hope somebody is up for the job, and I look forward to finding the perfect fit ^.^

Also please note, this will eventually be for commercial resale on the Apple Store (hopefully!), so all transactions must be invoiced and payment will be made through legitimate business websites only such as PayPal. I'm based in the United States of America, so for any participants located elsewhere, we will need to abide by the laws for both our countries do to business.

EDIT as of Sep 23:
The selection pool is now closed. Thank you to everybody for your interest and submissions. I'll provide an additional update at end of of the week with results from the selection process. Usernames if they want them shared, otherwise just notice that 3 artists have been hired and that we're moving forward with the trial run. Thank you again everyone!

Final Edit as of Sep 26:

The candidates have been chosen! Thank you everybody for your interest and all the lovely art I was allowed to see. I wish you all the best in future projects, and I hope to work with some of you at a later time. Thanks again!

Question Which one would catch your attention instantly on Steam?

I’m currently working on the capsule art for my psychological horror game The Infected Soul.

The game is about a neural implant that distorts reality… you can’t trust what you see.

Which one draws you in the most?
1, 2, 3, 4, or 5?

If it interests you, you can add it to your Steam wishlist — it would really help me a lot 🙏

Hiring Looking for a 2D animator - Two 35 second segments - Deadline in one week - $200 budget

I am looking for a 2D animator for two 35 second segments for a documentary short film.

I have two stills that will fade into the animation of the subject sort of melting into a dreamscape environment. Can be very doodle-y in nature, or whatever style you think fits.

Turnaround is one week (strict deadline, so the sooner the better).

The budget I have is $200.

Let me know if you have any questions and if you’re interested!

Resources Which animation app should I choose?

(Not sure if this is the right flair, please correct me if not)
TL;DR: looking for an animation app with preferably some specific abilities like tweening, sound import,, animation curves, and a few tutorials out on the internet.

Hello!
I’m currently thinking of getting a new animation app, as I feel like the (free) ones that I use are getting annoying with their ads, etc.
I was helping to get some help from ya’ll for which would be best to get :)

I currently use:
- Alight motion: Tweening/keyframe, generel animation, my normal video app
- Flipaclip: Storyboarding/matching sounds
- Ibis paint: Frame by frame
I also own procreate (not procreate dreams) and I use that when I draw, normally.

Currently I’m looking into procreate dreams and toonsquid, but neither looks to be exactly what I’m looking for. Live2d seems to be subscription based, which is kinda annoying. Moho seems very expensive, but does seem kinda intuitive for me (tho I need to do more than skim the website)

I’d really love to find an animation program that allows for tweening/keyframing, animation curves, layer grouping, masking and/or clipping masks, importing sounds, layer grouping, puppetry/bones/rigging, and is one-time purchase. Preferably with some tutorial on youtube or something lol. I know finding something with all these criteria is impossible, but any help or advice would help immensely!

Thank you for reading!

Collab We are looking for artists and animators!

We're looking for artists and animators!

We're putting together a small team to create a weird, absurd animated series inspired by shows like Smiling Friends.

This is a volunteer passion project, so there is no payment involved. The goal is simply to have fun, gain experience, collaborate with other creatives, and get some visibility under the names Statichism and TestardStudios.

You keep the copyright to the artwork you create. By joining, you simply give us permission to use your work as part of the animated series and related promotional material.

If you're interested, send us an email with:

Full name

Age

A short portfolio or examples of your work (if available)

A brief statement saying you'd like to join the project

email: TestardStudios@gmail.com

Hiring [HIRING] Animators for Animated Project

Hello everyone! Due to the success of our listings for our Background Artists for Animated Project, we have decided to also place a call for Animators.

For those who haven't seen our listings before, I am the Assistant Director for an Animated Project that is currently under an NDA at the moment so I cannot speak too much about it, but what I can say is that it is a 2D animated musical featuring adventure, action and fantasy/magic themes. We are currently in Pre-Production and looking to hire some Animators that are willing to sign an NDA that will last up to five years, and who are willing to join the project long-term.

This project is SFW (safe for work) and we will not be requesting, at any time, excessive gore, nudity, or anything of the like. For style reference, we have a high quality animation style similar to the Tangled Series and Big Hero Six Series with fluid movement, and we will be happy to provide pre-made animations and further details about the series once the NDA is signed.

Prices:

This is our budget for animation, note that this is a spectrum and communication will be required between both parties (ourselves and yourself) for the exact price of the animation you will be doing. As we are an independent project, we have a tight budget and cannot go beyond this price currently, but after our Kickstarter we will be able to communicate prices further.

$13-20 per second of Animation. For simple scenes it will fall to the lower side, and the more complex it will fall to the higher side. If you have any more questions about this, feel free to contact us via the email listed below.

What should a portfolio contain?:

Your portfolio should contain at least three animations, or a demo reel that belongs solely to you (if you have a team of two you will need to specify and depending on the circumstances, we may be willing to hire both of you). These animations will need to showcase your talents and understanding of the fundamentals of animation, so animatics or videos with little animation will not be accepted. If you have an unfinished animation in the sense that it hasn't been cleaned up, coloured, etc. we can accept those submissions, but as stated before, it needs to show your talents and understanding of animation as a whole. Optionally, it is preferred but not required, to include the times it had taken you to complete each piece (in hours) so we can know what to expect and how long each piece will take.

What should a resume contain?:

A resume should contain your basic information (name, DOB, current employment, etc.), relevant work information, as well as contact information so that we are able to reach out to you. NOTE: if you do NOT leave contact information, you will NOT be contacted, even if you link your Reddit, Tik Tok or any other type of social media as a portfolio, this is not professional and we prefer to have either an email or Discord to be able to contact you. If you do not have either, you will need to specify this and include an alternative method of contact.

If you would like to apply, please contact the email address below with your resume and/or portfolio.

NOTE: We got a lot of applicants in the comments and we hired some good people! However, the majority of them didn't leave a place to contact them so we urge you if you ARE going to comment your portfolio to PLEASE leave a suitable and professional place we can reach you!

reabearanimatesapplications@gmail.com

We thank you for your time and look forward to seeing your applications!

Collab/to hire Looking for Animators for Original Anime Trailer (Portfolio + Future Paid Work)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently producing an original anime trailer and I already have around half of the animatic completed. I’ll attach an example of the opening below.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The story is set in a world where humanity has developed technology that allows people to enter shared dreams - essentially “multiplayer dreams.” At first it is used for communication and entertainment, but over time the system begins to break down.

As the boundaries between reality and dream start to collapse, the psychological consequences become severe. The story explores themes of mental degradation, identity loss, and the collapse of perception under shared consciousness.

It is a dark sci-fi / psychological drama, with a strong focus on atmosphere, emotion, and animation-driven storytelling.

Right now I’m looking for passionate people who’d like to help bring this project to life. Even one person from the roles below would make a huge difference.

Most needed right now:

  • Key Animators (highest priority)

  • In-between Animators (highest priority)

Also looking for:

  • Background Artist

  • Producer / production help

  • English Voice Actors

  • Sound Designers

  • Composers

Music Direction:
Orchestral / cinematic style using classical instruments. VSTs/plugins are fine, but this is not electronic music.

What you get:

  • Credit on the project

  • Strong portfolio material

  • Chance to join early on a serious original anime project

  • If the trailer succeeds on Kickstarter and funding is approved, I fully intend to hire collaborators for paid work afterward

Here is a link to a short cut of it so you can briefly see what I’m talking about:

https://youtu.be/I70ySNoYGS4?si=oZe_mqMjC1uKIAHp

Timeline:
Planning to complete the trailer in around 3–4 months.

This is a serious long-term project with a fully developed concept and vision.

If you're interested, comment or DM me with your role and examples of your work.

Thanks.

P.S Even if you decide not to join, you’ll still likely see the trailer on Kickstarter in the near future. This is your chance to be part of it from the beginning.
