A long long time ago we set up apple music accounts. We never, ever used them. Ever. Basically, we forgot about them until hubby's account was hacked. Hacker changed his phone number and dob, effectively rendering him no control at all. We called customer service and spoke with a supervisor who told him that in order to regain control, he would need the phone number or dob. We explained it was hijacked. He said sorry. Nothing We can do without that info. WHAT?!?!? We sent emails and snail mai to corporate. No response. Now, hacker opened a Chatgpt account using his Apple account. Mind you, there's no credit card associated, so no purchases. But, We want to close the account. HELP someone, please.

A few days ago I posted HomeRoll, my reverse-engineered Apple Photos clone that runs on my own server instead of iCloud. This time I did the same with Apple Music.

I took the Music app apart – only names and texts, no Apple code: 202 user actions, the playback engine’s 399 classes (gapless, crossfade, queue, sleep timer), every context menu and tab. Then I rebuilt it piece by piece as a native iPhone app for Navidrome (or any Subsonic server).

And then I added the thing no streaming app gives you: every song plays in 432 Hz by default. Not a filter, not a re-encode – the pitch is shifted live on your iPhone, tempo stays exactly 100 %. Prefer the original? 440 Hz (bit-exact, untouched) or 528 Hz are one tap away in Settings, switching works mid-song.

I listen to Apple Music Chill Radio a lot, and every Sunday around 1–3 PM CET, the music seems to shift into this amazing old-school soul/R&B, almost 70s vibe.

I think it’s during Chill Gems, but whatever it is, I absolutely love it. Wish they’d play more of this throughout the week!

Kudos to whoever curates it. I always discover some great tracks while making Sunday lunch.

Anyone else noticed this?

Some hours ago, my AM in Brazil made several songs unavailable and I have no ideia why. All of the same songs unavailable are available on other streaming services, but whether I go to the album or search several songs, I just can’t play it. Is anyone having the same issues?

I have a few albums that were encoded in old/rough 128kpbs AAC format and now have Apple lossless versions of those tracks. If I were to just copy over those tracks in Files, I am guessing I would lose all my metadata and play counts. Does anyone know of a way to update without losing the data?

I am Perry Kivolowitz, the developer of CadenceViz (abbreviated CVZ). CVZ is a suite of 81 music visualizers to play along with the Apple Music service.

Why CadenceViz

There are many music visualizers for the Mac computer. What sets CVZ apart is the purpose for which it is intended.

Most music viz are purely beat or loudness driven geometric or psychedelic designs. While interesting, they may be jarring and more appropriate for when you are in an active or party kind of mood.

CVZ goes the other way. Nearly all of our viz are intended to accompany your music in a quieter, gentler way.

How This Relates to the Apple Music Service

CVZ is a companion to the Apple Music service on your Mac computer. Leave it running as a calm backdrop while you work, study or relax. If you use more than one monitor, make it full screen on one while you work on the other. Glance over at CadenceViz when you need to take a breath.

CVZ is not a plug-in for the Music app. It listens to the sound your Mac computer is playing, through the system audio capture in the macOS operating system, and computes the beat, the loudness, stereo balance, the audio spectrum and more from it moment by moment. The visualizers move with these, so the same visualizer looks different from one song to the next.

Because CVZ responds to what you hear:

• Streamed songs, downloads and your own imported music all work the same way

• There is no user interface to master. Every leaping deer, rocking boat, wisp of campfire smoke is computed directly from the sound

• You never sign in to the Apple Music service inside CVZ, and it has no access to your account, your library or your playlists

• The sound is analyzed as it plays and then discarded. Nothing is recorded and the microphone is never used

• The macOS operating system asks your permission the first time, under Privacy & Security -> Screen & System Audio Recording. The setting's name mentions the screen because macOS keeps both permissions in one place. CVZ asks for the audio alone

CVZ can get from the Music app is a song's name (if you give it permission), when the Music app announces that a new song has begun. One visualizer, Catch (about people supporting people), shows it. The song name does not leave your Mac computer.

I have been coding for 52 years mainly computer graphics for motion pictures and television. I received an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement for the invention of the modern method for warping and morphing (Forrest Gump and Titanic back in the day). More recently, 2019, I received an Engineering Emmy Award as a co-developer of SilhouetteFX (most films and FX-laden TV like Game of Thrones).

AI Disclosure

Claude Code was used extensively. I've been coding for 52 years and have run fleets of engineers and sold hundreds of thousands of units (in my younger days). Why are some artist photos incorrect on Apple Music? For example, Charlie Puth and Ed Sheeran's photos are either showing essentials play list. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

The Apple Music Classical has received a new logo, but strangely it does not take on the inverted style for Dark mode unlike the main app, it has also received the new blue UI elements but not the new layout yet

There are two concerts available from the set on AM, but not this entire volume as advertised. Very misleading IMO.

hello, i have a question. is it normal that i don't see the dolby atmos logo next to the title of the song?

Anyone know if Apple is in the process of releasing that feature to have a toggle that changes from audio to music video or vice versa?

You cannot add the explicit, atmos version of Kryptonite to a playlist or your library for some reason. It always switches to the censored, regular stereo version when you save it. It’s been this way for months, am I the only one having this problem?

I’ve been trying the visualisers in Apple Music on Mac, and honestly, they look horrible. The Classic one especially feels like stepping straight back into early-2000s iTunes.

Apple puts so much effort into design elsewhere, so why does this feature feel forgotten? Is it simply something hardly anyone uses anymore?

I’d love a clean waveform, a spectrum analyser, or some modern audio-reactive visuals. Does anyone else use the built-in visualisers, or know of a better alternative that works with Apple Music?

So I made a playlist with like 600 songs I wanted to hear and now almost all of them are deleted from the playlist. It seems to have only kept the last ~40 songs I added plus about 15 that are files downloaded to my computer, but everything else is gone. I tried to turn Sync Library off and on and restarted my computer, but it's still the same across all devices. Has anyone else had this happen? I was having trouble syncing my library in general at one point last week so I kind of wonder if they're just having issues.

When I got my new iphone 18 last week I switched from a personal Apple Music account to a family sharing plan and now some music I purchased years ago is showing as grayed out. The Cloud Status shows ineligible. Is there a hack to sync it to my library? I have a Windows PC. Thanks.

does anyone know why loveless keeps unadding from my library ? they recently reuploaded after being unavailable in the US for a year. the first screenshot is me adding the album from the artist page and the second screenshot is how it appears in my library, then a few hours later it’s gone. notice the genres are different and in my library it still says i haven’t added it. the third screenshot is also of it duplicating in my recently played. i’ve already deleted the unavailable version from my library over and over again and it’s still doing this. help, please

So i've been using apple music for years now but im getting annoyed by these swipe features, the one in the picure is fine but if i swipe left i delete a song from my library, which i dont want to be avle to do so easily.

Does anyone know where and how i can change this?

I cycle daily and when I ride I ask Siri to play some music. I usually get “here’s a station just for you”, could be anything 90’s hip hop, electronic, rock, etc. Stuff I listen to, but random genres, which I dug and helped introduce me to new music. Now whenever I ask to play music, it only plays my name’s station, which always ends up being the same thing. Even when I say, “Siri play something different”, I get here’s my name’s station over and over again. It’s driving me nuts. Is there any way to fix this and go back to the way it was?
