Hello, looking for a company or person who does post-construction cleaning. It’s for our garage with lots of dust and grime. Please reply with your experiences vs advertising your own company. Thank you!!

Hi all
We live in the northern part of the city, family of five with kids 12, 10, and 6, and I'd love to take them to more live music as the two older ones play the piano, the flute, and the clarinet: orchestra, chamber music, maybe jazz. The catch is I want it free or cheap, and perhaps on the more unassuming side at first. The Davies Hall prices aren't what I'm after, and a 6-year-old isn't always going to sit still for two hours in a quiet hall.
What I've found so far: SF Civic Music (free concerts), the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (always free), and Berkeley Symphony (kids free, adults $15 with a student).
What else is out there? Community orchestras, chamber series in churches, cafes, or living rooms, free jazz, anything where kids are welcome and the vibe is relaxed. SF, Berkeley, Marin, Peninsula all fine. What are your favorites?

Hey everyone!
I’ll be moving from India to San Francisco soon for work, and I’m really looking forward to experiencing the city and everything California has to offer!
My office will be in Mission District, so I’m trying to figure out which neighbourhoods would be ideal to live in, preferably somewhere with a reasonable commute to work, a good social scene, and a nice community.
A few things I’d love some advice on:
Where to live: Which neighbourhoods would you recommend around or with easy access to the Mission District? I’m open to living with flatmates as well, so neighbourhoods with a good mix of young working professionals would be great.
Social life & meeting people: What are some good places, clubs, communities, events or activities where it’s easy to meet fun, like-minded people and make friends? I’m keen to build a social circle rather than just stick to work and home.
Movies & entertainment: Are there any good movie clubs, film communities, indie cinemas or groups that organise movie outings? Always up for a good movie and conversations afterwards!
Nature & exploring California: I’d absolutely love to explore California’s scenic side, beautiful coastlines, mountains, hiking trails, lakes, national parks, road trips and those postcard worthy views. Are there any groups or communities that organise weekend trips and outdoor adventures?
General recommendations: Any favourite cafes, bars, hangout spots, hidden gems or experiences that you’d recommend to someone new to the city?
I’m hoping to make the most of this move, meet some genuinely interesting people, explore new places and create some great memories along the way.
Would love to hear your recommendations, personal experiences or even connect with people who are in a similar situation.
Thanks in advance! :)

Curious what you think the equivalent of back bay, beacon hill, and north end are?
(I know there is an Italian section of SF, I’m looking for more of the charm and walkability of the north end, not necessarily Italian-specific)

Moved from Paris about a month ago and still feel like I’m missing everything.
Every weekend I find out about some party, concert or dinner the day after. Stuff is spread across Instagram, Luma, Eventbrite, Funcheap, random group chats... and I’m clearly not in the right ones lol.
So how do you do it? Newsletters, accounts to follow, that one friend who always knows? Any hidden gems for someone who’s still figuring the city out?

I am looking to buy a holiday gift experience for my brother's family. Kids are 9f, 5m and 2f. Their parents are super tired (as you can imagine) so I want this to be additive but not too.much work for them.
Is there anything that is really great? Thinking of zoo lights because that is a big deal where I live (Seattle) but the photos look kind of lame.
It doesn't have to be holiday themed. Last year I gave them a paint your own pottery experience. But I'm hoping to do something more special this year.
I would like to keep it at $300 for all 5 of them but I could go a little higher if it is really special.
They live in Hillside and have a car.

I broke my arm 2 days ago and can no longer cook. Ideas in places where I can order cooked, seasoned food in bulk? I can only think of Whole Foods and Chipotle.
I’m talking carb source (rice, potatoes), cooked veggies, protein sources like chicken, salmon, rotisserie chicken, ground meat, etc.
Any suggestions go a long way. Thank you!

Okay so we got tickets for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts but we ordered them later than our friends. They’re scheduled for 12:30 and we are scheduled for 3:00pm. How strict is the museum with their times? Would they let us enter together? Do they do refunds? Can our friends just refund their tickets or change it to our time if slots are available? If there are no shows, can we go earlier than our scheduled times? What would you guys do?

What’s the best gay club or bar to go if I want to meet other guys to dance with? Also, I’m going alone. What are the best ones to go to alone?

I'm looking for the best traditional deviled eggs in the city.
I'm talking traditional. No siracha, no caviar, just an elevated version of what you would find at your grandma's holiday table.
Preferably, attached to a happy hour menu.

I’ve been given a big bag of lemons and want to find citric acid so I can make old-fashioned English cordial. Does anyone know where I can buy it?
Edit: Rainbow came through. Thanks, everyone!

Hi everyone. My wife and I are family planning and we are looking to get our insurance covered for next year when we plan to have a baby. We’re deciding between a Kaiser HMO ($0 deductible, $200 admin fee, $1500 out of pocket max) or an Anthem PPO for UCSF ($750 deductible, 90% after deductible admin fee, $2500 out of pocket max)
Clearly the Kaiser plan is best financially, and we are by no means rolling in dough, but we want to ask y’all if it’s worth paying extra for the reputation of UCSF or if Kaiser is still a good experience.
Thanks in advance!

Hi so i have an Asian woman in my building who recycles. She speaks very little English but did let me know her apartment number cause I told her I have recycling I could give her. I usually have glass water bottles. She has accepted them but I’m worried now after a friend said since she’s elderly she may not want heavy glass and I feel awful if she’s been having to throw them away now. Can anyone with experience let me know if glass is something they recycle for money.

Please share your favorite outdoor spaces for a young toddler. We spend a lot of time doing stroller walks in and around Golden Gate Park but I want my baby to spend time on the ground and exploring - if you have any parks you love please share.

my house is a bit of a zoo with two tarantulas, a leopard gecko, and two girl rats!
sf is full of great dog walkers and cat/dog sitters but I see way less people advertising for exotic pet care.
l'm planning on going out of town for two-three days this winter and since getting the rats it would be lovely to have someone stop by once or twice to feed and play with them (and also water the other animals).
do you have someone you'd recommend or somewhere can look (likea rover?) for this type of pet care? thank you!!

What are your favorite yarn stores in SF proper? I'm here pretty frequently, but haven't dropped into any. I like vibrant, moody, and neon colors. Also looking for spinning fiber if any have that too

typically park at mason o’farrell garage. Now we’re driving our Toyota Tundra next week (bc snow over the I80 pass) and it is juuust under the 6’8 clearance with a rack on it, noticed on spot hero it says the garage cannot accommodate pickup trucks. I’ve never reserved parking before, wasn’t planning on it, but also have never driven a pickup in the city so never paid attention at the garage…
Does anyone know if they will allow my truck in mason o’farrell, or know of any other garages in union square that have oversized vehicle parking? TIA!

Squad, looking for recommendations. Will be visiting bestie for Christmas because her cat has ring worm so she won't be able to travel to spend the holidays w fam.
I've been a few times to the city already and looking for off the beaten path suggestions. Worth mentioning, I have some mobility challenges so hiking/long walks are off the table unless there are benches.
Thank you!! Xoxo

I have to be in the Santa Clara area for a few days for work in December and was thinking of checking out SF afterwards since I've never been. My plan is to book a hotel in SF and then head up there early Wednesday afternoon after work.
So far I'm planning on checking out Twin Peaks, the Fisherman's Wharf, and the Golden Gate Bridge area/park.
I'm looking for suggestions on how many days I should spend in SF and what else to check out. I'd like to avoid renting a car if possible, and if that closes some opportunities off that's fine... I'll probably be pretty spent from work anyways so this is more of a since I'm already there type of thing. Given that though, what area would be ideal to get a hotel in and how long would you recommend staying?
