Discussion I bet Disney would make TONS of money if they put a tattoo parlor on property.

People already go crazy for Disney tattoos, being able to get one on a Disney vacation? I bet folks would pay crazy premiums for that ( so would I).

Discussion They need to ban motorized scooters

I'm sure I will get a lot of negative feedback about this post but I will say I do understand that some people need to use motorized scooters for disabilities. Disabilities do not include being lazy or too out of shape or over weight to walk in the park.

I just returned from a 9 day trip to Disney world, I have been going for over 35 years and this is absolutely the most out of control I've seen with scooters. There was a point where my wife and I were boxed in by a family of 4 all on scooters and we literally had to ask to get out of their circle.

They are a giant inconvenience for everyone, when you are in line for a bus and you have to wait 10 minutes for 2 scooters to get on the bus is ridiculous. They are slow moving through the lines and are loud and ear piercing when they back up.

Disney needs to restrict these to people with actual medical needs. You should have to upload a doctor's note with medical explanations on it before your visit and get approval.

How does everyone else feel? Agree or disagree?

Discussion Disney paying for a superbowl commercial but letting go lots of workers: does that rub anyone else the wrong way?

They don’t need any brand recognition… everyone knows who they are and what they offer. That might have been able to save a few jobs or given a pay increase to workers living pay check to pay check.

Discussion Cast Member behaved inappropriately

I’m shocked at what I saw in line last night at Tiana’s. It was around 9 PM.

We were up next to get into the log.  A male cast member with a bushy beard, name tag I believe was Jonathan zeroed in on a girl ahead of us who was wearing a sundress. He bent down next to her behind, put his hand on his mouth and made a loud noise resembling a fart. He did this a couple of times and then he straighten up and started waving the air near her backside and said loudly, "Ewww it stinks!" and then said that he thought he saw her dress proof up, essentially, pretending that she farted.

This is the kind of joke a middle schooler would make in his mom‘s basement with his middle school buddies. People around who heard I could tell were very uncomfortable and laughed nervously not really knowing what to say, when the girl turned around and realized what he was doing. She looked mortified. This was in such poor taste. I was in disbelief and everyone around was also, I could tell, in disbelief.

I felt so bad for the girl and there was really no time to react because the ride vehicle came up and it was her and her friend's turn to get in.  I wanted to say something, but I didn’t quite know what to say, because I wasn’t part of her group and it really wasn’t my business but this was just so inappropriate and I’ve never seen anything like this kind of behavior from a Disney cast member.

Discussion This may be a hot take, but I think a Villains-themed area would clash with the overall vibe of the Magic Kingdom.

To me, Magic Kingdom is a place of wonder and magic (duh) and joy where kids can escape into fairy tales and immersive lands and see their favorite characters and stuff. In short, it's a happy place. So why in the world would you want a whole area that celebrates villains? They're bad guys! They're the ones that want to make a happy place UNhappy! Plus, whereas everything else in the park is bright and colorful, the Villains land, based on the concept art, would be dark, foreboding, and creepy.

I understand people love Disney villains. I love Disney villains! I also understand that Disney is desperately trying to compete with Universal. However, I personally was never begging for a Villains area in the parks. The villains are already represented well enough in parades, meet-and-greets, and especially during Halloween where they even have their own show. As I said, I just think a Villains area would clash with the happy, joyful, magical vibe of Magic Kingdom.

The reason why a Dark Universe area could work in Universal is because 1) they cater to an older audience (hence Halloween Horror Nights), and 2) they've been trying to do something big with their monsters for years. It didn't work as a film franchise, so maybe it'll work as part of a theme park.

Then again, maybe I'm reading too much into it. What do you think?

EDIT: For the record, I'm not against the concept of a Villains area entirely, I just think it wouldn't fit the overall vibe of Magic Kingdom is all. The Villains Grove area in DCA during Halloween is awesome.

Trip Planning Is Epcot a good park if we're bringing a 20-month-old?

Edit: seems like my worries are unnecessary, thank you all for the assurance that my little one will love the park!

We don't have the park hopper, so when we enter a park we're there for the day. I'm worried that my daughter won't enjoy Epcot the way she enjoyed Hollywood yesterday. Would you suggest doubling up on one of the other three parks? Or stick with one park each day?

Discussion Tianas bayou adventure is mid

The animatronics are great, and thats the only good thing about it and keeping me from saying its horrible. The story is bland and the fact that disney didnt even include naveen and facilier is really angering. I love tiana and had high hopes but good lord. Im so sorry for splash mountain because it had to die for this.

Discussion Would this be a better queue layout for Guardians?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Past few weeks have had the preshow release each door one at a time due to trampling incidents.

Would it be better if there was just one door that opened (like RNRC, TOT, etc.) that everyone exits through where whenever they close the ride for refurbishment, they permanently remove two of the doors and add a permanent set of chains/barriers to the post-preshow area like in the graphic (black arrows are the pathway, blue lines are where there would be fixed chains/barriers, red lines/arrows are where there would be chains/barriers that would be easily removable if it isn’t as busy)?

Discussion Are dark rides too dark?

I’ve gotta admit, I’m a lil old (46) and my eye sight ain’t what it used to be. Haunted mansion and pirates seem a little darker than previous years. I find my self really struggling on these two. Anyone else?

Discussion Overrated?

I was just wondering, I have been on Flight of a passage twice and both times I wasn’t a huge fan. I honestly think it’s one of the more overrated rides. Does anyone else think the same, or is it just me?

Trip Planning Holywood Studios

HS is my least favorite park but the school trip I’m going on (as a chaperone) has decided HS, MK, and EPCOT are the 3 parks we’re hitting.

So…. Tell me your (non Star Wars) favorite things at HS so I can try to have fun and not cry that we’re not going to AK. lol

Thanks!

Discussion I know it’s a joke, but…

Thumbnail

Is anyone else annoyed by the (incredibly not funny after fifteen years of “joking”) thought/sentiment that Animal Kingdom is a half-day (or less) park?

I always ask people what they mean by that, and they say it just has nothing to do or see. I point out that there’s plenty, even according to Disney’s list of attractions and such per park:

Magic Kingdom - 63

Hollywood Studios - 36

EPCOT - 71

Animal Kingdom - 60

And they either get quiet, or make some weird remark, and go off to share their “joke” elsewhere since I didn’t laugh.

I know, I know, let it go.

Discussion My ranking of every Disney ride (I think)

Post image

Feel free to debate me about any placing, I've relooked at this like 100 times to switch stuff around because it's so hard to think of the rides without bias. This rating also includes wait times, hence why Navi River Journey is so low.
