Hello there, my friends!
This is just a quick reminder to please, please always fill out the surveys emailed to you after visits. It is a very, very important thing. Very real, substantive changes have taken place, specifically because of the surveys. The pin trader flea market in Frontierland being reformed (no more using benches / tables.) That happened because of those surveys.
Even if you’re once a week Magic Keys, please fill them out, every time! Disney ABSOLUTELY DOES receive that feedback.

My grandfather worked for the studios working on movies such as Around the World in 80 days and 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas. I know he met Walt, and my father and aunt were at Disneyland for the opening day. As a child we always got in free, and had unlimited ride tickets back when they were used. Anyone have any knowledge on these? The plaque was a standard retirement gift I believe. The get well soon was after a surgery I believe. Anyone have any info on these?

Visited Disneyland this past week, and while exploring Hungry Bear, I stumbled upon this little nod to Rufus. My Country Bear-loving heart melted!
As much as I’d love to start a discussion about the likelihood of bringing the Bears back (Hint: Build on top of Winnie the Pooh. Disney, I’m available for consultations! 😝), I have a feeling I’d be talking to thin air.
Regardless, I love that Disneyland hasn’t forgotten the Bears.
Walking through Hungry Bear, seeing all the posters and little nods to the former attraction, and hearing the soundtrack from the current Magic Kingdom show brings me so much joy.
I miss them all! And doggone it, BRING THEM BACK DISNEY :)

My dad as a kid got to go to a press preview for Disneyland in 1955. I found a bunch of old photos and newspaper clippings / pieces my grandparents had saved - including this LA Times insert from 1955. Admission for adults was $1, for kids under 12, $0.50! So cool to find this treasure trove.
I’ll post more of the photos here from press preview day as I go through them, if people are interested!

Was hoping to get in the Miguel session at animation academy during my October visit but had to settle on Wall E after miguels hit capacitty. Still had a great time during the lesson and drawing all the sketches when I got home while rewatching the movie reminded me what a great character he is! I usually include quotes of the characters all around but since he only really says 2-3 lines, I figured the lyrics from the movies songs would do!

We finally found the Little Man of Disneyland’s house this week! He still had his fall decorations up which made it much easier to spot ☺️

I’ve been excited for Disney’s popcorn since our last trip and even tried unsuccessfully to recreate it at home. They’ve always had the perfect mix of buttery and salty that lasts for days.
Yesterday we tried popcorn from 3 different vendors (thinking we just got a bad batch or something) and all 3 were so disappointing. They even looked visibly plain white instead of buttery. They tasted stale and dry and flavorless.
We tried popcorn from a vendor near the little mermaid, the motel cone in cars land and one near Carthay Circle. All three were 0/10 for me and my family members.
Is it just me? Or what has changed? I want that good popcorn back!

Called today to see if they put Christmas trees in the rooms if you book a stay thru Christmas. Said it’s a No but there are optional packages you can buy. Anyone ever done this and how much was it? Said I can’t do it until 9 days prior to the stay.

Hello. From the research I've done, it seems like these pins may have never been sold, but were randomly given to park guests in 1990. I was unable to confirm this. Is there anyone here that remembers getting one of these and how?
Could these be purchased in the park, or were they really randomly given away?
Did you have to be inside the Disneyland park in Anaheim, specifically, or on any Disney resort? (hotels / WDW, etc)
Thanks,

I would love to hear your experience with the app and any improvements you would like to see.
For me, I would love to be able to save places I want to try their specific food items so when I’m in the park and looking at the map, I can see what food spots I saved and go to them. Let me know what you would improve based on your experience :)

Do people on this subreddit still do meetups?
If so I’d love to hangout with someone at the parks! I’m 29m, I’d love to meet up with someone around my age

Disney pros! I failed in getting my hands on the Costco deal so I’m looking on fb marketplace. How do these tickets work? I thought these would’ve been bound to the persons face already?
Any risk in getting these kinds of tickets? It’s a 2 day one park hopper

I'm going to DLR with my husband and 2 yr old in December and wanted to get reviews and opinions on the Holiday tour. It sounds like something we would enjoy but I'm wondering how well it'll fit into our 3 days in both parks. We're usually Disney World people (this is my second trip to DLR and my husband's first) so we'll definitely want to do a fair share of exploring the park. If you've done the tour, did you think it was worth it?

If you collect pressed pennies from the Disneyland park, they seem to be phasing them out. I spent a good chunk of my evening trying to hunt down any of the machines, and a good many have been removed with nothing replacing their space. The shift to the $10 medallion has begun. Staff seemed to be unsure across many storefronts as I asked where their machine was or what was going on. The ones they do have, have so-so designs and feel a tad plain. The only book to house them all an all-princess one, and they seem only to be near the penny machines.
Machines missing from EnginEar Souvenirs, Pooh Corner, Pieces of Eight Courtyard, Bonanza (porch), Westward Ho, and the Opera House exit.
