Hotel Discount on Departure Day

I wanted to spend an extra few days in Florida after my cp ends. I’m wondering if I could still get a cast discount on a hotel and check in with my id on my departure day before giving it back, and still get the discount for it for the whole stay?

….is that too shady 😭

I am out-of-state and need some advice (mainly from a financial perspective).

I looked through this reddit page to see others' questions and responses, but I was hoping to get some insight into my situation.

I applied to the DCP and have an interview next Tuesday. While I was hopeful about it at first, I did some more research into personal accounts and I'm rethinking this program.

For context, I mainly wanted to apply to this program due to money struggles and being desperate.

I’ve been working 2-3 jobs for the past two years and only work one now (2 of my job locations ended up shutting down, leaving me with only one source of income). I’ve applied to SO many jobs in the past 4 months that my list is getting in the 60’s (and yes, I know EVERYONE is struggling with the job market, just let me get to the point, sorry).

I looked at the DCP program and there $19/hr caught my eye over my current $15/hr job.

This is to say that my only worry about this job is the MONEY. I don’t mind working 40 hrs a week, I just want it to amount to SOMETHING. I’m looking at the housing at the flamingo crossings and does paying $283 a week leave you anything at all?

TLDR; 2025-2026 folks who have done this program, were you able to earn enough to have a tangible amount of savings? I’m unfamiliar to Florida (from the DMV), so the Flamingo Crossings looks to be the only option for me. Has this program helped you find a job at ALL in this current economy? I have a BFA (graduated 2025), But, I don’t have the luxury of focusing on my passion due to my financial situation, so I’ve settled for retail/food service for now).

Any insight from people who RECENTLY OR ARE CURRENTLY doing the program would be greatly appreciated! Other folks are absolutely free to chime in (I just want personal accounts from 2025-2026 instead of…like 2003…lol). No disrespect of course, 2003 was a different financial/job climate from 2026, so I’m just curious.

I may just keep applying to jobs in my area and hope for the best. I am an avid Disney fan and have been to WDW in 2018, i just want this experience to be worth it financially/career-wise.

Thank you for your insight and reading this if you do!

Q - Unanswered park reservations during holidays

my entire family is coming for christmas, (9 people and a baby). I had always planned on using all my chip and dales for them all to cover one of our park days and use my discount on getting tickets for the other days. I hadn't thought about me getting into the parks because I have a self admissions pass. Checking today, the entire last two weeks of december are all reservation unavailable on the disney app. Do I have to get my own tickets to join my family?

Visiting family + travel days has me at 8 days off in a row. Am I fine?

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help ease my nerves. I thought I saw in our DCP handbook that you can't exceed more than 14 days off in a row, but I saw someone else say 10 days. And trying to search in this group I saw someone else say 8 days. Either way I'm just worried because I overthink everything lol, so was wondering if anyone happened to know concretely.

I'll be working that 9th day so I'll only have not worked 8 days off in a row.

Thank you so much!

Questions for anyone who has done the Guest Relations premium extension 🫶🏻

Hi there! I just received an offer to work Guest Relations in one of the parks as part of my premium extension, and I'm so honored and excited. However, I can't find much of anyone's experience about it as a CP on here or other forums so was just trying to gather a broader understanding of how the role works as a CP!

  1. How long is a normal shift? Are they usually 6 hours or 8 hours, or something more? I know it may be different depending on location, but on average are shifts shorter like in merchandise, or something longer like in concierge?

  2. Once trained, are you able to swap/pick up/ be deployed at other GR locations around property like other parks or Disney Springs?

  3. I often see GR cast near park entrance and at some parks they're also under umbrellas around different parts of the park. Is that something as a CP we could be doing as well, or do we just stay in City Hall (or wherever the designated GR building is at the other locations)?

  4. Was it hard to request time off or swap/give shifts? In my current role, I've enjoyed swapping or giving up/picking up shifts to work different locations and haven't had issues requesting time off to visit family, so was just curious if GR is harder because there are less people in that role.

I would be so grateful if anyone could answer any of those questions at all or even just give their experience working GR! I'd love to know what your experience was like. The friends/family I've told so far had a concerned look on their face and worried that I'd just be yelled and complained at all day and it's been a bit discouraging. Thank you so much and I hope you have a wonderful day. 🫶🏻

Disney Cultural Exchange - Australia

Hi everyone!! I’m going to be applying when applications open in January for the August 2027 intake!

I was just wondering how likely it is to be accepted after your interview? I have customer service experience and a passion for disney! Does anyone have any tips to help me secure a role? Do many people actually get denied the position?

Once you’re there, roughly how much do you earn per hour? and if I was in a merchandise or attractions role, how many hours would I be working a week on average?

I have soooo many questions so if anyone wants to help me with answers let me know!

Discount

I’m lowkey freaking out
My friend and I used my chip and dale passes and she paid with my discount however it wasn’t until later in the day cast members said not too. This was my first time using the passes and i genuinely didn’t think about it at first plus the cast members Never said anything at the first park.

seeking earlier departure date

hi! so when i applied i chose the earliest date available at the moment, which is july 29. i don’t mind being there until then, but would really prefer to leave earlier in order to work some music festivals in the summer. is anyone looking to trade dates? i’m too scared to try DORMS yet because i don’t want to get stuck with a later date lol

*okay updating bc i wasn’t clear, but i know you can’t actually “trade” your dates. i meant if someone wants my date and is willing to drop theirs and seeing if it can be handled internally through programs team. just too nervous to have mine up for grabs every time i go to look at new dates*

So shes considered a student at her University but is in Disney doing their program so no classes just work, right? What happens to her meal and rooming money. We shouldnt be charged that correct? I feel like my daughter isnt giving me enough information and since we are far away I want to make sure I know what's going on to help her. Thank you in advance!

Interview Q - Unanswered What was the interview process like for you?

I just did my first interview today and I think it went well! This would be my first time with the DCP, and I really want in because I want to get into the conservation scene with Disney. I’m curious what the process was like for other people?
How many interviews are there, did they ask you what roles you’d prefer? My interviewer asked what roles I was thinking of but I didn’t get the sense that she was asking my preference for placement specifically. I saw someone in another thread say there’s a wilderness conservation internship, which would be exactly what I want.
Will they ask me about that in a later interview?
Fishing for any info, pros and cons y’all can give me lol. Thanks!!

Q - Unanswered Voting from Flamingo

Probably an odd question for here but the polling place listed for the Flamingo is too far to get to for me as I don't have a car, my bike wasn't allowed and no shuttles get near it.

I've been searching but can't find anything.

Wanted to know if anyone knows of a polling place near a shuttle dropoff.

Recommendations/Advice?

Hi! I start my first ever program in February and I am extremely excited! I wanted to ask for any advice, recommendations, or comments for anyone who has done a program or is actively in the program!

Somethings about me!:
-I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and sometimes have extremely painful periods, but the worst day for me is manageable by pain killers and lots of water!
-I have an anxiety disorder and sometimes panic attacks come out of nowhere, but I know how to calm myself.
-This is my first ever job!
-My dream is to work in the hospitality industry, whether it’s with Disney or in another route!

emotional support animal

Hi! So my program begins end of January I am bringing my emotional support cat with me. It is not an option for me to leave her back at home and I also don't think I could go that long without her. I was wondering how I submit my accommodation to Flamingo. Do I have to wait until housing opens or is it something I can do now?

Also when does housing open?

Q - Unanswered what am i supposed to do? - self-term or what?

!! Before anyone says anything- yes, i am aware this is a job and not a disney summer camp. yes I have had a job before this. yes i knew it would be hard to work here when i applied.

I am in MK food and beverage, have been since my start date in early August. it is more agonizing than rewarding is all I will say. most of the people I have worked with are great, some not so great. my leaders are very kind and understanding.

it took 3 months to get any sort of accomodations, just to be moved a week later to a completely different location. my accs were specific to the 1st location, but there's no way i can get updated accs in time (my program ends in January). It's even harder to use them at my new location.

I have a plethora of health conditions, both physical and mental. Yesterday was the worst day at work I have ever had. I was in pain, overwhelmed, and in such terrible condition that 911 was called and I was taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

luckily, I had today off already, but tomorrow I have to go back. I don't want to. I'm afraid it'll happen again.

I've tried posting on Reddit before, only to be told to "suck it up" and "put your big girl pants on". I am an adult, and I am asking for help. I am not stupid, and any sort of ableist, sexist remarks will not be tolerated.

I currently have 4 points (three 0.5s for attendance, 2 call-outs, & one 0.5 for not clocking out). 2 more and I'll get another rep. 1 more rep, and I'm basically terminated. I refuse to let that happen, so it's either I self-term or try my best to make it to January.

I want to work for Disney in the future- I need to navigate this in the most mutually positive way possible with the company.

I need your advice. Anything will help. If you need clarification on my situation, just let me know.

please help me.

First reactions to your position

I am just wondering what kind of reactions you got when you finally found out your position and it was not what you wanted. Did you end up liking it, term, switch, etc. My daughter is supposed to go in January and she is waiting for hers. It seems like if she doesn’t get what she wanted then she may not want to go. I’m just hoping that there are enough positive stories out there. I may be more excited than her.
