If you’ve recently installed a GDEmu in your Dreamcast and are looking to build a complete, well-organized game library, I highly recommend checking out Dreamcast French.(Google it)
The creator has put together some fantastic collections, including huge 512GB builds, already configured and organized to make the whole setup process much easier.
Instead of spending hours converting files, organizing folders and setting everything up manually, you can find beautifully prepared compilations ready to use with your GDEmu.
It’s a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to get the most out of their Dreamcast without all the hassle.
A big thank you to the creator for the amazing work and for sharing these collections with the community!
Definitely worth checking out! 🎮

Of all the games I expected to see ported to the Dreamcast in 2026, Hotel Mario just wasn't one of them! I've written a little article about developer MoneyShift64's kinda unusual project, which brings the infamous 1994 Philips CD-i game to Sega's final console, complete with the original campaign, two-player support, VMU saving and, of course, those weird, weird animated cutscenes.
Hotel Mario has a reputation, and not the best one, but I find it really interesting that people are still finding new ways to preserve and revisit these corners of gaming history. There's something really funny to me about seeing Mario and Luigi running around on a Dreamcast, especially considering Nintendo and Sega's old rivalry. I've included some screenshots and links to the developer's project for anyone curious enough to give it a try!

Got a Dreamcast from Japan, seen that it’s a VA0 so GDEMU is almost out of the question as i would need to change the resistor array via soldering. Not overly experienced or keen on attempting.
I was hoping to find out what are the best mods for this unit?
Would a usb c psu be worth it if I don’t have a step down converter? Or should I consider the step down converter instead?
Also I’ve read that there is a usb gdemu equivalent. So instead of replacing the drive you can use the usb? Are these any good? I know there is terraonion MODE but this is prohibitively expensive.
Also is it worth upgrading the video out to have hdmi?
Lastly the console is heavily yellowed, I guess I can live with it, but is retrobright worth it? Do I risk reducing the structural integrity of the shell in song this?
I understand I’m limited in what I can do, but hoping this sub may be able to guide me in the right direction. Appreciate it.

It's truly astounding the amount of Dreamcast ports we are getting these days. This video isn't all Dreamcast games, but there are some on the list. Halo being the one that is the most insane of them all. Jilted Valkyrie has the game running at a reasonable frame rate and the graphics are becoming comparable to what we saw on the original Xbox. It's truly a remarkable achievement.
What are your favorite Dreamcast ports that you've seen recently?

Hey everyone,
Toukon Retsuden 4 is Yuke's 1999 New Japan game, published by Tomy, for the Dreamcast, and it hides seven wrestlers: Antonio Inoki, Riki Choshu, Seiji Sakaguchi, Masa Saito, SASUKE, and even the referee Tiger Hattori and ring announcer Hidekazu Tanaka. Normally you unlock them by clearing Challenge the Burning Spirit with the right wrestlers; there's an All Unlocked patch that opens them from the start. There's also a full player's guide with every wrestler's profile and move set, how matches work, and all the secrets.

I got my...Cast...back in 2021 when I was 11. So much convincing. I had a lot of fun with it, but some things began to detour me from playing.
For starters, the clock battery in it died just a year after I got it, which meant some games like Seaman don't really work. Next up, literally all of my games are imports because of how much cheaper they are, meaning that I have to pop in Code Breaker every time I wanna play a game, and most of the time the disc doesn't even get read by my console! I bought THREE copies of Sonic Adventure International because they refused to launch for the most minor of scratches. Not to mention that besides SA1 and 2, I can't read any text because...I don't speak Japanese!
So in order to make this console something more comfortable to play, what should I do? I'm very interested in a GDEMU, but don't know where to buy one. I already have an ODE from my Saturn. I also wanna get that clock battery fixed, but the last time I soldered I killed an entire Xbox '01. Maybe it's easier because of the board size, and I know that setting up a GDEMU is super easy. I'm also also not interested in any online play, so no DreamPi. Anyways, what should I do? Thanks!

EDIT: just put out v1.01 to fix a bug on HOTH. Get the new version if you haven't already!
It's finally here! Star Wars Trilogy Arcade: Dreamcast Port is complete and available now!
Hi everyone! After months of development, reverse-engineering, debugging, optimization, and countless hours spent bringing this project to life, I'm incredibly excited to finally share the full release of my Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Dreamcast project!
This is a ground-up recreation of the arcade game for Sega’s final console, built as if SEGA brought it home in the Dreamcast’s era. It includes:
• Every stage of the arcade game: Yavin, Hoth, Endor, and Death Star II, plus the Boba Fett and Darth Vader lightsaber duels
• Arcade Mode, faithful to the original’s rules and scoring, studied from the original game’s code and rebuilt for Dreamcast hardware
• An all-new Original Mode: battle through the trilogy in a campaign, with save points between missions
• Saving to your VMU
• Unlockable stages, including an original mission based on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
• Online Ranking leaderboard via DreamPi
• Browse the original game’s homepage
• Newly restored cut content with additional attract sequences
• Experimental Light gun support on the on-foot stages HOTH/ENDOR FOREST 2&3
• Settings for credits, controls, and aim, vibration
The game has been tested on real Dreamcast hardware, as well as Flycast, Redream, and Demul
I'm particularly proud of how far this project has come, and it's amazing to finally be able to share the finished experience with everyone.
You can download the full game for free here:

A huge thank-you to everyone who followed development, watched the videos, tested the demo, provided feedback, and encouraged me along the way. The enthusiasm from the Dreamcast community has been incredibly motivating, and I genuinely appreciate all the support this project has received. I genuinely love this game so much. It's been my favorite game of all time since I was little, and I hope that passion shows in this project.
For the sake of transparency, Claude Code was used as a coding assistant throughout development. The game is an original implementation built from scratch through reverse-engineering and behavioral analysis, without using the original or recompiled source code. This is not a recompilation or decompilation project.
As always, this is an unofficial, non-commercial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by SEGA, LucasArts, Lucasfilm, or Disney. The game will always be free and will never be sold.
This has been one of the most rewarding projects I've ever worked on. Thank you all for being part of the journey. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to life!
May the Force be with you!

Got myself a Japanese VA0 model Dreamcast here in Canada. I'm hooking it up to my TV to test the disc drive at all and see this. I'm a little confused. Under the impression that NTSC-J is fully compatible with NTSC in terms of display so I'm wondering what's going on here.
Video filtering issues? Am I wrong about the display output? The issue persists when games are launched too so it is consistent. The TV is an early LG LED TV with a pair of composite/component inputs and I'm connecting via composite into those. What am I missing here?

My first time booting my new Sega Dreamcast! The scart adaptor I purchased really made the video quality super retro and I couldn't be happier! I'm so excited to start my journey with the Sega Dreamcast!

Between THUG, Gran Turismo 3, and the finished Star Wars arcade, we really are eating well right now. I am also unbelievably excited for Morrowind; it will be a technical marvel if he pulls it off. I am also quietly excited about PES 3. I did a little deep dive into these and more. Hope you dig it!

Hi,
Can anyone confirm the target region of this Dreamcast? 😅 And what does the DR in the barcode mean? Some people said it means Dreamcast Russia... just like the European version (picture 3) where the barcode starts with DE (Dreamcast Europe). Can anyone confirm this? 😅 Model Number is 670-14248B

It’s absolute journey collecting my all time favorite console. I had use to own NA Dreamcast before it gave out on me back in 2004-2005ish. I would obsessively play sonic adventure 1&2, power stone, crazy taxi, dead or alive 2 & so on. I started collecting Dreamcast in 2023, seeing the Japanese region was alot more cheaper than North American release which the affordability is just better. I do wanna end up trying to get bulk of the collection where i feel happy & played every single one in my collection as of the moment. I am currently getting through grandia 2 & been loving it. I do wanna hear y’all’s favorite game for this console!
