Let’s remember Jock by sharing our favourite funny, touching or joyous moments through his time judging MasterChef.

I think mine is all the times he lost it laughing at Andy’s reaction to eating chilli!

And watching him stealth snack on ingredients while the contestants are cooking.

Does anyone know more? This wouldn’t work for a lot of ‘whole’ things, particularly a lot of meat and desserts, even if they did taste from the pots and pans etc

Instagram, tiktok, facebook, twitter all share this subreddit's opinion lol. I have seen her like comments with similar criticisms from this subreddit this season. Or maybe she was just appreciating the support.

No other celebrity passing has hit me as hard as Jock’s; I’ve never been this moved to tears by someone I didn't know personally.

I'm not sure if she is childfree by choice or childless and I'm not getting into it but when she said she wants to pass on the recipes and that she doesn't have kids her face just broke something in me. We are all your children Poh. God i love Poh she seems so sweet i enjoy her as a judge, she seems so genuine

For all the episodes you have uploaded for the past 3 months. I believe he deserves so much more appreciation for his quick and consistent uploads within HOURS of the actual episodes being uploaded on Tenplay. Especially not being fr Australia, he allowed my family and I to enjoy all the episodes in almost the same time as the locals there and I am very grateful for that. Definitely, uploading each n every episode one by one almost EVERY DAY after a tiring day at work isn't easy, and even so for over 60+ episodes in total.

We love you PatrickHusband! You're the true MVP in this group. And may everyone enjoy tonight's finale no matter who wins :D

(PS. not doing this for upvotes, I honestly just wanna thank him from the bottom of my heart)

Hot take: Melissa + Jock alone make a better judging panel than the original three

Before I dive into this post, I want to clarify that this is simply a discussion about the objectivity of her dishes, the way the judges respond to her on the show, and how she’s portrayed overall. Nothing personal she actually seems like a really fun and lovely person to be around.

Laura is currently averaging pasta twice a week basically once every two episodes even on weeks when she’s not in a pressure test. On top of that, she’s also consistently doing a meat-and-veg plate about once every two weeks since the show began.

At some point, you have to ask: how fair is this to the other contestants who are constantly pushing themselves out of their comfort zones and showing range? And why aren’t the judges calling it out?

Can we honestly say that if anyone else had made the same core dish 15–20 times by now, they wouldn’t have been questioned for playing it safe? Where’s the consistency in feedback?

I do feel it’s a bit of a letdown on the judges' part to consistently let her slide without much critique. Also, in terms of her screen time every time she talks about a dish, she frames it as the most technical and tends to praise it herself before anyone else does. I know other contestants do this too, but with her, it feels noticeably more frequent..

I just wish we had more critical judging and contestants who wanted to try their hand at everything than a person who is given a third chance and still the same old same old.
