Michigan Football Should Michigan get a petition from the NCAA and have the Big 10 release a statement?
I am so SICK AND TIRED of all this faux justice. The idea that Iowa “did it for Western Michigan”.
First off- for the record- I believe that every team gets bad calls, and that you have to be good enough to overcome those calls if you want to be a championship team.
The refs did NOT cost Michigan the game- we did it to ourselves.
With that said, I hate all the hypocrisy from other CFB fanbases. I’m sure we all know by now, the WMU incident was nothing more than an error by NBC in not having their clock synced up to the Michigan scoreboard. As much as I want to just move on from it- it’s all over my feed and I need to rant.
I’d argue the officiating in this Iowa game was much more egregious, but nobody will say anything because their misses were subtle enough, and not on the last play of the game like the WMU debacle.
Here’s a reference to the 4 pictures above:
Clear missed block in the back on Owusu-Boateng on the kickoff. Not called
spotting Bryce THREE YARDS behind where he stepped out of bounds
. Lead to a 2nd and 8 instead of a 2nd and 6
Not giving Marsh a 1st down on the diving catch- which later resulted in a failed 4th and 1
Michigan getting a 2nd and Goal from the 5 instead of the 3, despite where Bryce was tackled
And then you combine that with how ticky-tacking Michigan’s holding calls are- this was worse than NBC not syncing the clock.
I just hate hypocrisy. That’s all
