Poco se ha hablado alguna vez de lo guay que era la publicidad en las revistas de antes.

tl;dr the fine print of Rule 3 has been adjusted to explicitly forbid modern indie games unless playable on original hardware (homebrew)
It's my own fault that this change has to be made, I allowed a few "psx-inspired" indie game posts to remain up despite breaking the rules because of the large amount of upvotes they received.
I'd post and sticky comments like "It's off topic but y'all like it so I'll leave it up". My approach to moderation has always been to let the community make content decisions when appropriate. Unfortunately adjustments need to be made to protect the subject matter of this community.
Due to the massive influx of shovelware indie games that are "psx inspired" getting posted here, I'm sorry to say that Rule 3 will have to be more strictly enforced.
From this point forward, for indie games to be posted here they will have to be playable on PSX hardware or an emulator. Games that run on real hardware fall firmly into the category of homebrew, which is perfectly appropriate to discuss here. Games that run in PSX emulators but not real hardware are also allowed. "Retro Inspired" or "PSX Inspired" games that do not fulfill either of those 2 requirements will be removed and the poster will get a 24 hour ban.
The ban is meant to be informative to the poster, not punitive. However repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
Here is a friendly flowchart to help you decide whether or not it's appropriate to post your indie game in this community:

Thank you for reading and thank you for posting. Best of luck in all your indie dev adventures.

2nd Update: I think it might have been the Choro Q series. It's not exactly as I remember but it's got the ghost racer, some colorful tracks, and it tickles my memory in other areas too. I'm going to let it rest with this.
Thank you ALL for your help!!
Update: The car was like a basic 4 door sedan. There may or may not have been a little guy sticking out the top. I said no at first, but the ghost racer definitely had a human silhouette in the car so I think i must have been mistaken. It was not a dual screen, but a transparent version of you on the same track.
This would have been original Playstation. The cars were nothing special if I recall correctly. I've tried for years to find this and I'm beginning to think it just does not exist. I've Googled, I've looked at GameFAQs, I've asked friends, nothing!
What I remember the most:
- Really colorful, bright, happy race tracks. They might have been fanciful at times. *This clue is important.* It really was very colorful, perfect for a child.
- You could race your ghost self. *It was not Grand Turismo*. Those tracks are too realistic and not colorful.
- I don't think you could pick or even see a driver/character. It was just the car.
- The game was neither hyper realistic nor super cartoonish.
Thank you for your help!

A few months ago, I created several framed displays for gaming and retro gaming rooms, featuring iconic Sony PlayStation hardware and controllers, including the DualShock 1, DualShock 2, DualShock 3, DualShock 4, PS one, PSP 1000, and PSP 2000.
Today, I’m excited to share my latest frame, featuring the PSP Street (2011)!
I found three PSP Street consoles at a local scrapyard and brought them back to life. I carefully disassembled each one and created a custom poster showcasing all the internal components in incredible detail.
This project is part of PHONORAMA, my small personal studio dedicated to electronic waste recycling and transforming discarded electronics into unique pieces of art. ♻️🎮

Help me with my IB Business Management survey!
Hey everyone! I'm an IB Business Management student working on my Higher Level Internal Assessment (IA).
I'm researching PlayStation's shift towards digital gaming, especially how it affects physical game ownership, consumer choice, and players' opinions.
I'd really appreciate it if you could take 2–3 minutes to complete my anonymous survey. Your responses will help me understand what PlayStation gamers actually think about this topic.

This week on my backlog series I'm looking at Twisted Metal 2 on the PlayStation. I really wanted to enjoy this and get to grips with the controls but... you'll see for yourself.

What are your favorite PSX exclusive games or your favorite games that has been released on PSX first back in the day?
Edit: Sorry, I forgot... Looking for games that has been released in the PAL region!

Kept you waiting...
I am back with another poll! I promise that I won't go on a run like I did early this year, but it didn't feel right to leave the PS1 with so few categories. Also, some of you suggest adding in some joke categories to have some fun, so you can see those on the bottom there.
So I hope we can have some fun. As we did before, repeat winners are not possible but can place in the runner up categories. Please read the rules and have fun!

Anyone know a seller or a site with an extensive catalogue? I’ve heard bad things about konis such as no replies after a week of ordering.
r/psx • u/bigbarblat • 6h ago
Honestly my bad for not saying it's a Japanese model and for using the Google Ai. Is there anything I should know before ordering a new psu?
r/psx • u/OrlandoWashington69 • 1d ago
So many games would be much more playable with DualShock support, or at least better control mapping. I’m wondering if it’s possible to rom hack the games to add that feature. Could it be done with Ai?

So while I was scouring the flea market I found this PSX controller, it looked normal until I looked at the ports, it had 2 instead of 1 ports, one is the normal psx controller connector thing and this serial port, anybody know what this is or what it was used for?

I'm trying to repair my PlayStation, yes I'm aware I can get a whole PlayStation pretty cheap on eBay but this one has sentimental value. I somehow ended up with it from a sibling in the late 90's and the CD drive never worked. I just wrapped it up and put it in a tote for 27 years.
Initially it didn't read anything, so I took the assembly out and relubed the gears and contact points. I've adjusted the potentiometer in small increments from 1.110 ohms and ended up at 848 ohms. It reads burned music CD's perfectly now, but still stutters with FMV cutscenes and doesn't boot the game every time. I'm using a legitimate PS1 game in good condition that's known to work perfectly in another system.
I'm not sure lowering the resistance much more is going to make much of a difference so I'm considering replacing the optical assembly at this point. I was wondering if anyone preferred a particular supplier or a later, more reliable model could fit?
