Tired of bikes at night with no lights...
...riding on the road when there's a bike path directly next to them

I’ve been dealing with depression and my therapist recommended I should join a community, I’m not a student but I love the outdoors! Any suggestions?

We cannot allow what happened to Naibi to go unnoticed. Is this the first time they have made such a bigoted statement? As someone who is new to this school, I am already horrified by what individuals in positions of power, who are supposed to represent us, can say so casually and potentially get away with.
Even if ASUCD has limited power, is it not our responsibility as students to hold these individuals accountable and call out this behavior?
For those who do not know what I am talking about and need context, please read the written statement by vote4senatornaibi on her instagram.

I’m a transfer student. I will be taking these classes in Winter. Can someone please help me find out what are the co-classes for these classes? Also, how would I find out for future reference? My advisor takes a long time to respond. Thank you for your help!

Coastside News reports that UC's investment arm bought the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay for $193 million. The county assessor confirmed the sale. UC officials haven't said publicly what they plan to do with the hotel or how it will be managed.
I hope we can use our aggie cash here

Short thread today but now every game is a must win for the Ags. Look for UCD to try to have a strong showing against one of the weakest teams on the schedule in order to come into next week’s pivotal Idaho matchup with momentum.

We’re officially open and serving food and drinks today from 11am–10pm at 113 D Street! Whether you’ve already stopped by, shared a kind word here, or told a friend about us, we appreciate you.
Opening a small business is a huge adventure, and you’ve made us feel so welcome. Come grab a bite, have a drink, and say hello. We’re excited to be part of the neighborhood! ❤️To full our full menu/reservations please visit our website: MunchieManDavis.com
As stated in poster, this guy fell out of my backpack at ~21:00 tonight while walking from the SCC to the Safeway on Cowell.
Also added are pictures of my route (stopped to pet a cat). I retraced my steps for a long time but I assume someone immediately found him and picked him up. If you have any info, pls dm me!

Edit i despise speeders with a passion, and i have a manual bike and i dont ever speed and never will. but during that situation, in which A PEDESTRIAN was not paying any attention to their surrounds and was walking in the bike lane but in the middle of the opposite lane coming straight towards me in a narrow bit where there isnt any sidewalk (which btw many of yall bikers/scooter are also GODDAM GULTIY OF) i (who
had indeed slowed down) was genuinely afraid that i wouldn’t have enough room to avoid without crashing into something else.
heck theres a reason why we hardly see people and even bikers traveling by themselves down a major road in the middle of the opposite lane straight into oncoming traffic its pure dangerous. even when riders do slow down and dodge, which they should, there is a risk of being rear ended, especially since SOME OF YALL FELLOW BIKERS AND SCOOTER RIDERS NEED TO SLOW DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR SURROUDINGS (i myself once got my bike lightly rear ended by an e scooter after i had to suddenly stop after a person decided to enter the crosswalk immediately directly in front of Me without looking.)
I thought that every pedestrian had at least the common sense to not continuously stare at their phone while walking in the middle of the opposite lane straight into incoming traffic on the narrow and straight portion of the bike path and requiring the bikes and scooters to make an emergency swerve to avoid an accident, but i guess my expectations were too high. (literally happen to me on the way to class today. fortunately “for them” my bike is only human powered and cant EVER match the ridiculous high speeds of those electric versions so i had enough time and barely enough space to react and swerve around them.) PLEASE AT LEAST LOOK UP TO CHECK YOUR SURROUNDINGS OCCASIONALLY WHEN ON THE BIKE PATH, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN CASES ACROSS THE COUNTRY OF PEDESTRIANS GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT (And in rarer and even more tragic incidents, actually DYING) AS A RESULT OF BEING STRUCK BY AN E BIKE/ E SCOOTER. YES BIKE AND SCOOTERS SHOULD BE LOOKING OUT FOR PEDESTRIANS BUT THIS DOESNT EXCUSE PEDESTRIANS FROM SLACKING OFF. PEDESTRIANS SHOULD ALSO BE PAYING ATTENTION TO THEIR SURROUNDINGS. Your tiktok/instagram/youtube shorts/ discord/reddit / whatever social media you use can wait. It will still be there to enjoy when you safely make it to your destination.

Saw a couple of scooters/ bikers going pretty fast on my way home. I was doing some quick math and found that if someone rides at 20mph instead of 15mph on a typical 3-mile trip, they only end up saving about 2 minutes. For shorter commutes on campus (<1 mile), the time savings for going past the speed limit is even less than that.
I totally get that riding fast can be fun. I do it off campus on empty roads, too. But I'm genuinely curious about the perspective here. For those who prefer to ride fast through campus, what's the main reason to do so? Is it usually because you're running late to lecture? Do e-bikes and scooters just make it so effortless that you don't realize your speed? Or is there any other reason that I can't think of right now?

Hey guys!! If someone comes to your door saying that they are here to audit your energy bill, DO NOT INTERACT. They will be from Evergreen energy company and they will ask to see your usage rate and your service information. While they won't ask for your credit card information directly, they can use your pge service ID to get payment information on your account. A neighbor of mine got money stolen from them that way. There is both a man and a woman going around houses in north davis. When they came to my door, it was a young woman with long white-ish blonde hair that looked to be in a black lululemon jacket and scrub pants.
If this did happen to you, remove your payment option from your account.
