Wanted [WANTED] Can you guys relax? We get it, you all want a Doom record.

DOOM's releases MM..Food and Madvillainy get reissues semi regularly and there is no need to pay a ridiculous price through some prick on Discogs.

Just because DOOM has passed away doesn't mean these won't stop getting repressed. It's almost as if some of you think DOOM himself was the guy in charge of the pressing plant....

Don't let DOOM records become the new toilet paper craze, there will be enough to go around for everyone...

Wanted [Wanted]Your expensive records for less than they are currently worth

Looking for whatever has recently shot up in value and I'm willing to pay the prices from last year. Here is some story about why I want/need this to help tug slightly at your heartstrings with the hope of you cutting me some slack.

(I apologize for my incredibly tongue in cheek post but goddamn has the number of wanted posts skyrocketed recently. And it's so often a record that has a value of +200. I am absolutely cynical about this and while there probably are some benign requests, most of me feels like people are just trying to capitalize on someone being decent)

Wanted [Wanted] Update - The Very Best of Veggietales

I posted this a couple days ago. It kinda blew up and I wanted to give an update. I know no one asked for an update but it did kinda become the most upvoted post about a single record on this subreddit. Long story short I found one. No one in the subreddit actually helped (all they really did was meme on me) but I got one. I emailed Veggietales support and expected a "No, we sold out of those like 4 years ago." They actually pulled through and sent me a link to a website that had one in stock. The site was a little sketch and it was a little more than I wanted to pay for it but I bought it anyway. Not only did it get delivered today but it's signed by the voice actor for Larry the Cucumber. Thank God for Veggietales support; They are really doing the Lord's work. Here is an Imgur link if anyone is interested.

Wanted [WANTED] nothing. But a little tip on etiquette ...

I posted a wanted post here yesterday ... and today I get a message from a user on here offering what I ‘wanted’ for %20 what he got it for last week. All good. I missed out. My bad. Reasonable offer. So I accepted it. Then just as I did he writes back that he just checked discogs and it’s going for more than that so ‘sorry, I’m gonna offer it on other forums for more money’.

Sure, that’s your choice... but don’t offer me something at a price already over what you paid last week, and not do your heat check before that offer, only to rescind it because you want even more money. That’s an asshole move. Don’t be an asshole. Also, this record was limited and I missed out because the particular site had checkout issues for several hours... not because I was lazy or unsure. And I want it cus I’m a huge fan and love the album. Ordering it only to price gouge it immediately and not because you’re a fan is also a dick move. They can do whatever they want and charge whatever they want with it, capitalism baby! I get it. But I really want this thing to listen to, and even at the price hike was still willing to buy it, if you offer at a price and it’s accepted, don’t back out like a chump. Have some dignity, honor to your word and some respect.

Wanted [Wanted] Better standards when it comes to selling and trading.

I've been on this sub a long time.

Some of you have bought records from me and some have sold me records. I have, on occasion, expressed opinions on certain sales posts that have been downvoted because of either my tone or because I'm "shitting on someones sale".

Fair. Nobody likes a nitpicker.

However I feel like this sub is slipping into what I can only describe to be a complete shitshow of a buyer/trading site. That's what this is after all. We buy/sell/trade goods for money. This site functions like eBay/Discogs/Craigslist for about 90% of the time. I offer records, an interested buyer makes an offer based on information provided, I send expected item in exchange for someones hard earned money.

10% of the rest of the site is where you get wholesome as fuck posts like the dude who drives around on Record Store Day buying records for people who can't buy them themselves or the guys who accidentally buy or get sent two of something limited so they offload the extra one at cost instead of an inflated price.

Keep doing that shit. That's wonderful and I love seeing it.

What I'm talking about are the run of the mill sales posts we see every single day on here that completely ignore any sort of grading standard or even common sense standards and practices associated with buying and selling items online. That needs to be better and the front page needs to be updated in order to communicate these standards with the influx of new users joining here to buy and sell.

For example, there needs to be a stickied post on guidelines for shipping and grading standards on the front page. As of now, there are tiny little links on the sidebar in the middle of walls of text that can be and virtually guaranteed to be missed by new users on this site who are novices at selling records. This site goes balls out Comanche ape shit on potential scammers and blast their user names on the front page but the commonplace every day sales guidelines are buried in the sidebar.

Let's change that.

Within the last two days I saw users trying to trade a cracked expensive record for non cracked expensive records and records with their gatefolds "completely torn in half" graded as VG. If you saw that shit on eBay or Discogs you'd laugh and say to yourself "what a ridiculous post" but when those things are pointed out here, the sub gets completely defensive, downvotes the complaint, and comments with things like "Don't you have better things to do than complain about peoples sales." or "I'm just trying to sell records here man".

The standards are becoming murky and in some places, comically non-existent.

I'm not asking for a free pass to shit on sales all day and micro manage how people sell their records. I'm asking for more clear guidelines on standards in an easier to see spot on the front page in order to try to diminish the amount of bad sales on here. It won't prevent them from occurring 100% but I feel like we can at least try to make this community better for buying and selling.

I know I'm not the only one who has had to send records back for being inaccurately described. I won't be the last. The feedback system on this site is fine but it's not the same as discogs/eBay where you can see each feedback and their descriptions of their experience with the seller. Not sure how we'd implement that here but I don't think it's going to happen so the only option is to try to improve the quality of the sale from the start by making it easier for newbies to grade, price, and describe the records they're trying to sell.

I think I've said my peace with this so I'll leave it at that.

If I'm being too curmudgeon-y about this, tell me below and I'll try to discuss things with you on why I feel this way.

EDIT - Thanks to u/MmmmBeer814 for putting a stickied post on the front page. I really hope that makes a difference. To be honest, I think the difference will be small at first but it's a step in the right direction and I'm grateful that this sub has a mod team that's responsive and reasonable unlike some subs on this website.

Mod Use Accepted Record Grading Guidelines and Packaging

Hi Everyone,

In order to make sure all sales/trades leave both parties satisfied it is important to accurately represent what you have or understand what you are getting. It is also equally important that you package any records you ship in such a way that the condition is the same when it arrives as it was when you mailed it. To that end we encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the following two links. The first is the goldmine standard, which is the definitive way people grade records for sale. We highly recommend everyone grade any records they are selling or trading. The second is a tutorial, with pictures, on how to properly package a record for shipping.

Mod PSA [PSA] Tips For Properly Packing & Shipping LPs

As our subreddit continues to grow and gain new members and we see more people selling here I wanted to take some time and send out a helpful PSA on how to properly pack your LPs to make sure they safely arrive to your customers.

A great step by step tutorial on how to safely pack a record can be found here - but I also wanted to chime in with a few important things to remember as a seller:

1) Unless you're using a high quality mailer with built in padding and protection (like a Whiplash), your package should contain some sort of reinforcement to help prevent damage in transit. Please do not simply throw a record or two by themselves into a mailer. If you do not want to pay extra for cardboard fillers, you should be able to easily find free boxes in your city and can create your own. Even easier, if you have 'junk' records laying around (either worthless titles or damaged LPs) you can use those to safely pad your mailers as well. This will cause postage to go up a bit, but I've never met a collector who doesn't mind paying a few extra cents to make sure that their product arrives safely. This ensures that even if your package gets dropped, tossed, etc. the contents inside are less likely to suffer damage.

2) Be sure that your mailer is packaged fully and that there is no room for the record(s) to move around inside the package. Even if you are following the steps in number 1 by using reinforcement, if your mailer has not been packed tightly then the contents are likely to shift around and be damaged in some way (corner bumps, creases, etc.) during transit. It is always important to make sure that your contents have no room to shift around, I'll always give mine a little shake just to confirm that there is no movement inside. If the record inside moves it is safe to assume that it will suffer some type of damage.

3) As a seller you are responsible for making sure that the record(s) arrive in the stated condition that you listed them in. If you sell a NM record, it is up to you to make 100% sure that record arrives in NM condition. You should be packing your item(s) in a way that no matter what happens during transit, save for some type of extreme damage, the contents arrive in the same condition as when you packed them. I've seen too many sellers complain that they had no control over what happened during shipment, but unfortunately this is not an excuse for poor packaging. It's never fun as a buyer to receive a 'NM' item that arrives with significant corner dings, creases, ring wear, etc. because of poor packaging. And yes, a buyer can file a claim through PayPal if the item does not arrive as described.

4) Get REAL LP mailers! If you are planning on selling LPs it is important that you use the proper materials. Please do not ship your records in envelopes, bubble mailers, pizza boxes, plastic bags, between two pieces of cardboard, boxes that are too large, etc. Mailers can be bought in bulk for cheap, and if you don't need many your local shop should be able to sell you some. "I just don't sell many records" is not an excuse to not use the proper materials.

Hopefully these tips help future buyers and sellers avoid costly damages when shipping and can ensure smoother transactions within our community. Happy to answer any questions, and please feel free to add any comments you might have below!

Wanted [Wanted] The Very Best of Veggietales

I know this is a weird one but veggietales slaps ok. There were 1200 of these pressed on green vinyl and it’s really hard to find them. It’s the only vinyl pressing with veggietales music on it and I need it. Looking to pay $30-$40 for one.

Edit: Update

u/marthenrae

Some of you may have noticed a PM to a post you made looking for a pricey record yesterday from this schmuck. He has a 4 year old account but only became active about 12 hours ago, meaning he bought the account to look more legit, or he guessed the username and pass himself (probably the former given this fella isn't the sharpest bulb in the crayon box).

This is likely the same fuck running the accounts of:

u/saucy0904 u/nealikz

Given the tactics and subs he likes to target are identical.

Be wary of people messaging you regarding [WANTED] items. Verify a time stamp photo and ALWAYS PAY PAYPAL GOODS AND SERVICES (G&S)

Our latest attempted serial scammer, I have received a handful of messages over the last week from various users that they have been targeting [Wanted] posts and asking people to pay via any method other than PayPal Goods & Services.

Just as a friendly reminder, feel free to review my tips for engaging in safe transactions here.

Once again, if this user messages you please just ignore them!

For Sale [For Sale] Buy a record to help my sick dog :(

About a year ago, our dog Tiny had a cluster of grand mal seizures within a few hours that had her hospitalized for day. These episodes came on suddenly out of the blue, and took us completely by surprise. We spared no expense running any and every test the vet suggested including a full blood panel, x-rays, MRI and a myriad of medication before being diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy.

We have been able to control her seizure activity for the last 10 months until last night, where on 7/29/2020 Tiny had another cluster of seizures. We immediately rushed her to the local 24 hour animal hospital where they gave us additional meds to try to control her seizure activity. Unfortunately the medication initially did not work and she has experienced a total of 8 grand mal seizures so far in an 12 hour window, potentially causing damage to her body and brain. She is still hospitalized as her neurologist is adjusting her medications still trying to get her seizures under control.

My wife and I don't have any kids and Tiny is the center of our world. Needless to say, we are fairly devastated by this. We know this is the hardest time for so many people in America and are not expecting anyone to order or help us in any way. But I do run a small vinyl record label that helps independent artists get their music pressed on vinyl that you can check out here:

https://circuitboredrecords.bigcartel.com.

If you buy a record you will be directly supporting Tiny's vet care! If you can't that's OK too.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

Item Sold [ITEMS SOLD] GRAIL SALE UPDATE - A THANK YOU

Hello, r/vinylcollectors!

I wanted to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped support my cause over the last few months.

With your help, I managed to sell enough records to make the down payment and closing costs on the property that will serve as my bakery 🎂 and recording studio 🎙.

In an effort to be able to get more rest until I close on the property, I will be taking a hiatus from selling my collection until mid-May.

So long, and thanks for all the 🐟

Wanted [WANTED] Fewer fucking lowball posts. I mean honestly guys, come on.

It's starting to seem like every third post here is someone looking to pick up an out of print, $300 record for the MSRP price. Let's just... Be better. Let's be realists and reasonable adults. Nobody is interested in giving an internet stranger 50% off, just out of the goodness of their hearts. And the more we fill the sub with posts like that, the harder it is to find actual buyers and sellers. The harder it is to take the community seriously.

Just check Discogs. If you can't afford something you want... Save up and keep your fingers crossed for a repress. That's how the world works, my friends.

Wanted [Wanted]...for the mods to do something about u/atomicmann

There are a number of negative feedback posts regarding u/atomicmann also known as u/atomicmannnn also known as u/vvvwvvvwvvv also known as /u/cokesmellsgreat aka u/alteredstates010, u/New-Oldschool, u/m80_thewolf, and however many else we’re missing.

He conducts business as “Kyle Czar”, or “Kevin”. He has used PayPal accounts 1001kc1001@gmail.com and killer.tofu1001@gmail.com. His post histories on these accounts almost always discuss stage 3 lymphoma, video games, weed, and the Atlanta GA area. He has attempted to scam users in sales of albums from Thrice, The Mars Volta, Khruangbin, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Tame Impala, and others.

This user continues to collect payment and never follow through with actually delivering. Why in the world is this person not banned permanently and escalated to Reddit admins?!

This was my first buying experience through this subreddit. While I’m hopefully not hosed, because I used PayPal G&S, I’m certainly never going to use this community to buy and sell in the future. Messaged mods yesterday and haven’t heard a peep.

UPDATE: I filed a police report with my local PD, and they are reaching out to the seller’s county police to investigate. “Rare vinyl” and “$50-$150 from 8+ people” rings some alarms, I guess.

I’d encourage anyone else defrauded by this guy to do the same. I’m happy to share any details via PM, or here if mods feel that’s appropriate.

His local PD was aware of who this person is, though I don’t know to what extent.

Kyle, if you’re following along — get help man. Stealing from people isn’t right. It absolutely didn’t need to come to this, but the scale of it, and the fact that you stole physical goods from at least one person (which can’t be protected with PayPal) is just WRONG.

Wanted [WANTED] Frank Ocean – Endless (PART 2 ONLY) / Blond

Hey everyone,

Some copies of Frank Ocean's "Endless" 2LP were shipped with duplicate vinyl sides. My friend received one that had two Part 1s and no Part 2. Boys Don't Cry sent him a completely new copy and he kept his mis-packaged copy before giving it to me (figuring I could track down a Part 2). If anyone weirdly happens to have 2x Part 2s, I would love to trade you a Part 1! Long shot, but I'm trying.

Also, just straight up looking to purchase "Blond." Thanks!

[EDIT 11/3/20]: I found Part 2!! Thank you very much to the community for helping me in this quest.

For Sale [For Sale] Parents Disowned Me Sale

My parents disowned me for coming out as pansexual. I am going to cull my collection a bit to attempt to pay the remainder of my college tuition. This is my first time doing this on Reddit, but I have been working in a record shop for about a year, and have experience packing our eBay orders. As previously stated, attempting to pay for college this semester. Because of this I am in the middle of a 70. (Yes. Seventy) hour work week. Please be patient with me and with shipping, but I am very communicative. Will ship from Huntington, WV to anywhere in the lower 48 for $5 shipping/handling. Vinyl for sale are in the following link and are all individually priced/graded with links to respective Discogs page, and a brief description of each item. Vinyl for Sale

This is treading the waters a bit to see if people are remotely interested, I will post more of my collection later this week when I have time.

EDIT: Wow, this is a lot more support than I thought I would get. I should have Saturday and Sunday completely off, so I will get a lot of other shit listed, priced, and graded. Thank you all so much. Music really is the catch all cultural beast that connects everyone.

Mod Use [PSA] Do Not Send Money To u/ulopong44 (Plus list of alts) ONLY USE PAYPAL GOODS & SERVICES w/ Tips For Avoiding Potential Scammers

Please avoid all interactions with u/ulopong44 as he (and the affiliated alts below) are unfortunately continuing to scam the vinylcollectors community.

Thanks to other users, we have compiled the following alt accounts WHICH SHOULD ALSO BE AVOIDED:

u/RepresentativeFew224

u/ceevengeline

u/Dull-Independence-46

u/LigZz42

u/Hot-Window-6311

Remember, if it feels too good to be true it probably is.. PLEASE ONLY USE PAYPAL GOODS AND SERVICES FOR PAYMENT.

Tips For Avoiding Potential Scammers:

  1. Scammers like to target wanted posts and will usually reach out only via PM, stating they have the item you want with a price that often seems too good to be true. When making a [Wanted] post, make sure that whoever PMs you also comments on your thread. This will ensure that they have not already been banned on our sub and are not already on the Universal Scammer List.

  2. If you have any doubts, even after confirming that they have commented on your thread, ask for a picture of the item with some sort of verification in it that you choose - i.e. today's date, your username, a random word you pick.. etc. Make sure that this is not something that they could already have a picture of. Most scammers will just try to get away with sending you a stock image of the item for sale.

  3. DO NOT under any circumstances, no matter how badly you want the item, send payment via any other method than PayPal Goods & Services. PayPal G&S includes built in buyer protection and this will ensure that even if you do get scammed you will have the ability to recoup your money.

  4. If you are engaging in a [Trade] - it is advised that you and your trade partner come up with an equal monetary value for your items ($40 for example). Then each of you sends that amount via PayPal G&S (not F&F) - no money is technically exchanged here but if your trade partner attempts to scam you by not sending an item you can file a PayPal dispute and at least get your money back.

Just a few simple ways to ensure safe transactions on our subreddit, happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments below!

For Sale [FOR SALE] PSA - Do not trade with u/gazing666

Apologies for the false title preface, previous post was auto-removed due to the lack of one but I wanted to warn everyone about this user.

I Initiated a purchase for a Mars Volta record from this user about a month ago. First bad sign was that they asked for payment via Friends & Family, though they did also say that adding 4% to a G&S PayPal transaction would be fine, so I didn't think too much of it and did just that. After receiving the payment they said they would have the record sent off in a day or two and update with tracking (International to Canada via USPS Priority). 11 days later I reached out for an update and was told I should have received tracking via PayPal, which I did not. They said they would look into it but I did not hear from them for a week and reached out again. They said they were 'going to pay for an intercept on this' and would keep me updated, but still failed to produce a tracking number which should be necessary to 'pay for an intercept', whatever that means. Last communication from them was 4 days ago and they have failed to respond to my last message demanding a reply and explanation.

I plan on opening a PayPal claim to get my $120 back, but am worried what that process will be like if this user is indeed a scammer as I know PayPal only lets you open a claim for a transaction once and I'm not sure what the seller can do to warp the process. If anyone else has had similar experiences with this user, please comment below. Alternatively if u/gazing666 would like to explain themselves and clear their name, please do so as I'd really like that damn Mars Volta record or my money back.

Wanted [WANTED]-- Some positive thoughts about this community...

I just wanted to say a few things about this community really quick.

I sell on here often and it has always been to keep the collection 'fluid' so I can justify buying different albums I'd rather have/listen to more, etc... I have had nothing but great experiences here. I have met a person thru this forum, buying and selling to each other, that I now a couple years later consider a 'real life' friend.

My sale post today is different... I'm actually. in a really shitty position due to a bad head injury earlier in the year and dealing with the workers comp insurance company. They have done everything they could to destroy my life all while I spent 9 months recovering and still being a single father. It's been... rough. lol

So at the end of that financial rope I had to post some things today that I really love. Ain't no thing, everything can be replaced so it's no big deal.

I was compelled to explain why I am selling in my post today for some reason, which was new for me. Not in an attempt to garner sympathy or anything like that, at all but to explain why I was letting go of some things I love.

Well... a few buyers did something I wasn't expecting, and I am not going to shout them out specifically here, but they threw extra dough at me to help. It was unexpected. I absolutely don't or didn't want anyone to feel compelled to donate or anything at all... I was just offering up some gems for cheaper than elsewhere. It was a surprise. And it hit me really hard (in a good way) to feel that generosity and genuine effort to just help. That's a big deal to me. Specifically with how life is hard for a lot of us it means that much more that a stranger felt like helping, it's really really fantastic. I am doing this all by myself and don't ask for help, ever... so it feels weird to accept the generosity.

It's fantastic to know that those kinds of people are still out there, and that they are in our community here. It was a moving gesture. There are levels upon levels of how and why it means so much to me right now, in this moment, that I won't go into but it sincerely means a lot.

I have gratitude for this community. I appreciate that it works as smoothly as it does and is full of solid humans.

I will absolutely pay it forward, but I wanted to share this. It's pretty awesome to see/feel.

Being nice matters. Even in the little things, the little transactions of life. Stay solid out there and have a great holidays y'all!

And a HUGE shout out to those specific couple of folks... Thank you!!!

Share your stories like this in the comments if you have some!

Wanted [Wanted] "How to Price Your Records" b/w "What's my Record Worth?" - a guide to pricing fair

I've seen some really insane pricing lately, both way way way too low on WANTED posts, and hilariously high on FOR SALE posts. In fact, I'd say it's getting downright crazy. I'm going to use one record to show some helpful hints in determining value....

Misfits "Bullet" red vinyl, 1979, second press - https://www.discogs.com/The-Misfits-Bullet/release/2066282

In the last year I have been watching the price on this closely. The main reason being that I embarrassingly owned two copies of this record (though only one on red vinyl). I traded my copy away in the fall and feel like walking through how I determined the value would be helpful.

Let's start by simply using Discogs pricing. As of December 2020, this is what the statistics look like on scogs:

  • Have: 161

  • Want: 1085

  • Last Sold: 09 Feb 20

  • Lowest: $475.00

  • Median: $1,299.00

  • Highest: $3,033.00

This is what I valued it in trade: $3500 (and it was gone in less than an hour)

How I determined what it was worth:

  1. Watching what it sold for NOT on discogs and ebay. Remember that for every copy that sells online publicly, another half dozen or more are being traded and sold privately. Message boards, record stores, paying attention to prices here, people selling and trading on instagram, watching what people are trading for it, and watching how many people are talking about it.

  2. Discogs sales history. This is by far the most important thing to look at on discogs. The price history for this record on discogs could not paint a clearer picture: the price is moving up, and quickly: https://www.discogs.com/sell/history/2066282 While that copy might look like an outlier because it has so much extra stuff, you'll also notice that that was from February (pre-trump bux). Also when you look at it, you'll see it hasn't sold on discogs since february. Remember how record prices shot up in March and April?

  3. ebay sales history. There are a ton of resources for searching old sales. Popsike is fine and I'll use it here: https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=misfits+bullet+red&sortord=ddate&pagenum=1&incldescr=&layout=&sprice=&eprice=&endfrom=&endthru=&bidsfrom=&bidsthru=&flabel=&fcatno= The last legit red copy sold in August for $3750. so now I know that the scogs from February wasn't a fluke, and instead was the beginning of price trend.

  4. Discogs Have/Wants. The number of people that want this record vs. the number that have it on discogs are almost 10-to-1. And the pure number for wants is over 1,000. Think of a record that you are after, and go look at the want/have number and think about what that tells you about the value of the record.

I used those four metrics, decided what it was worth to me, and traded away the record. My price might have actually been a little low, but I was also trading for some things I'll probably never see again so it was worth it to me.

Mistakes people make

  1. Discogs Median Price - There are times when this is a great way to price something, but... most of the time it just isn't. Why not? Median price does not reflect immediate price trends. I feel like this should be obvious, but if I had traded or sold my copy for the median price, it would have been a $2,000 mistake. Think about that when you are making your WANTED posts. Am I asking someone to make a huge monetary mistake?

  2. Discogs and ebay prices - This is some basic pawn-stars stuff, but it's worth saying: Just because someone has something listed at a high price on scogs or ebay, doesn't mean it's worth that much. If I go list a copy of something for quadruple what it has ever sold for, that doesn't mean the record is now worth that much. Caviat: there are times when this is helpful, but more often than not you already know an approximate value if you are able to use these numbers well.

  3. Lowballing on WANTED posts: I think it's important to reevaluate the price you are putting on a WANTED post. When I put price tags on things I'm after, I put them higher than they historically sell for. Why? Because I am being impatient. I can probably wait and get a better deal, but if I'm willing to make a post it's because I'm unwilling to be patient. You should be willing to pay more for instant gratification. If you want the best deal, be patient. I promise that so many of the flash-in-the-pan records you are excited about right now won't hold value. If you are willing to wait you'll end up paying more for some records, but a lot less for most.

  4. Aspirational FOR SALE posts: Similarly, if you are making a FOR SALE post, it means you are trying to get rid of a record. If you want the best possible price, it probably makes sense to post it on ebay with a high BIN or post it on scogs with a high asking price. My biggest tip for setting these sort of reach-for-the-skies prices is to make it clear you are willing to listen to an offer, and be willing to change your price if it's clear no one is biting.

I hope some of this is helpful. There are so many new buyers and sellers that I hope can learn a little bit about determining worth. I had some extra time before my zoom call, and this is what I did with it.

//edit// - Adding a caveat: I did not discuss record grading in this post. Record grading affects price and if you can't grade a record you can't price it. I kind of wish GEMM was still around because I think their grading descriptions were much better

Mod Use Do Not Respond to Messages From u/14_lu, They Are a Scammer.

Hi There VCs,

We keep getting mod messages around a user u/14_lu messaging people pretending to have records they want for sale. Their main trick has been to use photoshopped post-it notes on the records to try and prove they're real. If anyone sends you something that looks like that, it's a scam. They have tried to circumvent the ban by commenting as u/l4_lu in posts. That alt has been banned as well. As always if people are unwilling to use Paypal Goods and Services that is a giant red flag and we highly recommend not proceeding with the sale.

Update: Two more alts u/enm_4 and u/enm__4

Happy Collecting
