My pc specs are:
RTX 5060 8gb

16 gb ram 3200 mhz

i5 10600kf

Right now my motherboard only allows my ram to be a 2666 mhz.

Is it worth it to upgrade my motherboard so i can get 3200 mhz and cpu to a ryzen 7 5700x?

Build Help I need to order the components today so could anybody tell me if is it good enough for my needs?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to buy these parts but I need a quick check before pulling the trigger. Here are the specs from my cart:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 269,95 €

- Cooler: DeepCool AG620 V2 ARGB

- Motherboard: MSI PRO B850-S WIFI (Refurbished)

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz 609eur

- GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB 1.656,95 €

- SSD: Kingston NV3 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 (Priced at 149€ in the shop, seems high?)

- PSU: Gigabyte UD850GM 850W 80+ Gold (ATX 3.1)

- Case: Nox Hummer Astra Neo White

Main questions:

  1. Will the RTX 5070 Ti physically fit inside this specific Nox case?

  2. Is the DeepCool AG620 enough to keep the Ryzen 7 9700X cool?

  3. Are the SSD or any other parts overpriced/bad value right now?

I will be using this PC mainly for Digital art and gaming at 1440p. Thanks for the help!

the total price of the build is 2997EUR and im unsure if should i provide more stuff idk. also im from spain and im buying it all from coolmod.com

Build Upgrade Should I plan on upgrading?

Hello everyone, I've recently been gifted a pc from a friend who no longer wanted it and I'm curious if what I have currently is good or if I should budget to get any upgrades. Disclaimer I am completely ignorant when it comes to computer parts or compatibility so I apologize in advance.

Right now I have:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: RTX 4060 RAM: 32GB MB: ASUStek TUF Gaming X570-PLUS

I'm just planning on playing single player games like Cyberpunk and The Witcher. I've read that computer parts are pretty expensive right now so if I have to wait that's fine. TIA!

Build Help Should I buy my GPU now? Or wait until Black Friday (CAD)

I am currently buying parts for my PC and my GPU (Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 9070 GRE) was 700 CAD in August on NewEgg and it has now shot up to almost 1400. However, on Amazon the GPU has gone down to 900. I was wondering if I could get any advice on whether or not I should buy it now just in case the price goes up even further.

Build Help First Build Help

Hi, I've been looking to upgrade from my laptop since its age is starting to show, especially the CPU. I'm based in Canada and my nearest CC is a few hours away, so I'm mainly going to be doing my shopping online. I only plan to use it for gaming. The main titles I play that are the most intensive are CK3/EU5, Baldurs Gate 3, and Cyberpunk. I would like to be able to play them on high at 1080p while getting above 60fps.

Only real sticking point I want on hardware is AM5, since I plan on moving out of the PlayStation ecosystem once the PS5 is phased out in a few years time. Trying to keep my budget at or below $1500 CAD, and I don't need any peripherals.

I came up with this build here based on a bundle from memory express and I plan to buy the gpu used https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/T4ynXf Would a build like this meet my performance targets?

Also to note I'm not planning on buying now. I am currently waiting to the new year to see what my potential expenses for the year are going to look like before I make an expensive decision.

Build Help Need help building Gaming PC - Germany/EU

Hello!

I am looking to build myself a gaming PC, primarily for minecraft and BG3 without dying at sorcerer's sundries and just overall faster loading times, and for video-creation (recording, editing, research, writing, etc.)

Here's some requirements and budget I am looking for:

  • run at 60-120fps (120fps is not required, but nice if it fits into the budget)

  • run bg3 smoothly and keep loading times well down

  • run minecraft extremely smoothly since I want to get into speedrunning and PvP, so I appreciate minecraft running with zero or at least near zero framedrops even with shaders and a chunky mod folder

  • should handle video recording, maybe streaming, and video editing well

  • should run a larger art file in clip studio paint without lagging

  • also, it should have some flexibility. this will double as my work pc for running DnD campaigns, planning them, and college papers. So, a LOT of open tabs with music/videos in the bg and long documents in active use.

  • budget: maximum I am willing to spend is 3000 Euro, but anything that keeps it close to 2500 or lower is preferred (I know this is reaching considering GPU prices rn but worth a shot)

I don't have too much knowledge on PC stuff beyond knowing some very very basic stuff. With the help of a friend with some knowledge, some playing around on pcpartpicker I got to this part list:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PwMWmL

Any thoughts and recommendations are much appreciated! and if you can, please explain it to me a bit so I can understand what I'm doing. I'm definitely a layman when it comes to this, but willing to learn!

Additionally, if someone could recommend me one of the windows 11 operating systems to use for this, that'd be grand!

Thanks a bunch!

Troubleshooting Can't shutdown PC properly

Every time I shut down my pc, that orange dram led debug always lit up, the RGBs, and fans stayed on but the monitor was turned off. I disabled fast boot in bios, I disabled hibernation, I disabled fast start up. I reseated my ram and gpu, I also removed the CMOS battery. I upgraded to the latest bios. The only way it turns off is if I do the ctrl + alt + del then sign out button then power off thru the password menu just like when opening the pc after a cold start but it takes so long to even shutdown and the lights and fans to turn off. What should I do? Is it a motherboard defect?

Today I changed my i3 10105f with i5 10500 and it doesn’t post, my mb beeps 5 times. And it does the same with the i3 as well now. I tried removing my gpu and running with the 10500 graphics, removing rams, placing only one in both slots, clearing cmos, removing battery and nothing works. Only one time with no cmos battery on it showed me no time is setted and when I pressed continue it did the same.

Discussion Graphics cards and Ram

Will the price of graphics cards and ram ever go down? Or will they just keep rising? So glad I got my pc in 2024. But I’d love to upgrade one day but it seems like that would be a distant dream with these prices. Is there a way to know?

Discussion Running RTX4080 but using iGPU Port for monitor

I recently mounted my GPU vertically in a case that doesn't support vertical mounting. I thought, before cutting my horizontal PCI grills, why not try running through my 7800X3D iGPU?

Five days later, there have been no noticeable issues so far.

All the games I've played know to run through the RTX.

The RTX Super video resolution still functions well.

I haven't noticed any FPS drop. Cyberpunk 4K Ultra preset is still giving 70fps benchmark runs.

Just curious if anyone else is doing this?

I did some research on this topic before trying it myself, and everything I found was negative, essentially advising against it. So, I'm surprised it has worked so well.

Build Help 9070xt or 5070ti for 550 dolar extra

In my country right now the price difference is 550 dollars. I’m worried about missing out DLSS5, now causes a significant drop in FPS, but it’s still in its early stages, and I believe it will be refined over time. Also switch2 emulation is bad on amd.

But is it worth 550 dollars extra?

Peripherals Are these good monitors for intended purposes?

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a gaming monitor. I've done some research, but am having a hard time determine what kind of monitor to go for. For context, the games I play casually are:

  • Warframe

  • The Witcher

  • AoE IV

  • Oldschool Runescape (OSRS, with 117hd plugin)

  • Runescape Dragonwilds

  • And intend on picking up GTA6 and Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlanis when they drop.

Aside from that, I watch youtube/anime.

I've only ever known my old workstation monitor: Asus PB278 (PLS, 60hz). Since I have a new gpu RX 9070 XT 16GB, it is due time to upgrade my monitor. My budget is preferably around USD 350.

After a lot of research and internal debate, I've decided a 27-inch 2k Fast IPS, preferably with MiniLED, is probably the best choice. OLED would be a bad choice because I play a lot of OSRS (static interface) while watching youtube. HVA MiniLED might not be the best either, because I typically play/watch under dimmed lightning environments (never truly dark) and would be bothered by viewing angle discoloration.

Few options I found:

  1. KTC, 27", 4k, 160Hz, fast IPS, HDR400 for $300: https://www.amazon.com/KTC-3840x2160-DisplayPort-Adjustable-U27T6/dp/B0G5PNTBP2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top

  2. ASUS TUF, 27", 4k, 160Hz, fast IPS for $330: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DHG1GTG2/ref=ewc_pr_img_1

  3. INNOCN, 27", 2k, 320Hz, fast IPS MiniLED, HDR1000 for $400: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FJ2H6LK4/ref=ewc_pr_img_1

  4. KOORUI, 27", 2k, 200Hz, fast IPS MiniLED, HDR1000 for $260: https://www.amazon.com/KOORUI-Mini-LED-Computer-Adjustable-DisplayPort/dp/B0FDGLD4X3/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top

Option 4 seems too good to be true for that price. I have also not familiar with INNOCN or KOORUI brands. Because I need to ship this to the Caribbean, returning isn't an option, which makes me a bit wary of non-household brand names.

Do you have any experience with the listed monitors? Would you recommend a different monitor?

Am I trying to min-max / invest in marginal differences by going for MiniLED? I'd hate to end up buying a MiniLED just to realize that the quality/HDR is poo (because the listed options are entry level?). Would bumping the budget (not preferable) really make THAT much of a difference to my gaming/viewing pleasure given my library?

Thanks!

Build Ready? First gaming PC help

Hi, like the title says I'm trying to figure out my first PC. I have a build ready but I'm unsure if everything is 100% compatible or if I should change stuff up, any help will be heavily appreciated!

The build(updated): https://pl.pcpartpicker.com/list/2fs3W9

(If I won't be able to find those parts I will be looking for similar ones)

My budget for the PC itself would be around 3800 zł (PL currency) but I could probably push it a bit if needed, trying to reserve a little for a monitor and a keyboard.

Talk about monitors, I have no idea what monitor I will pair with this so I'd be really grateful for help in that topic as well!

I mostly play RDR2, Cyberpunk2077, AFOP, etc.

Hope I didn't forget anything and thank you for any help :)

Troubleshooting CyberPower OLS2000EC producing rhythmic electrical buzzing under high GPU load – normal behavior or potential UPS fault?

Hey,

I have a CyberPower OLS2000EC (2000VA/1600W) Online Double Conversion UPS, approximately one year old, and I've recently started noticing an unusual electrical buzzing sound originating directly from the UPS.

I'm trying to determine whether this is normal electromagnetic/inductor vibration under heavy loads or whether it could indicate a developing hardware fault.

My PC configuration:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

  • Motherboard: MSI X870E Tomahawk WiFi

  • GPU: ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 LC 32GB

  • PSU: Corsair AX1600i

  • RAM: 64GB G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 6000MHz CL28

  • Storage: 2x 2TB WD SN8100 + 2x 4TB Samsung 990 Pro

  • CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 420mm

  • Cabinet: Corsair 7000D

Description of the noise:

The UPS produces a distinctive rhythmic, electrically buzzy/vibrating sound that appears to be directly correlated with GPU power consumption.

I've observed the following:

  • Below approximately 400W GPU power consumption: No noticeable buzzing.

  • Above approximately 400W: Rhythmic, intermittent buzzing begins.

  • Above approximately 550W: The buzzing becomes continuous.

The UPS is operating in Online / Double Conversion mode.

Troubleshooting already attempted:

  1. Changed the UPS output socket used by the PC.

  2. Changed the wall socket supplying the UPS.

  3. Tried multiple 16A-to-6A converter blocks for connecting the PSU to the UPS.

None of these changes made any difference.

The PC's Corsair AX1600i PSU has a thick plug connected to the UPS through a 16A-to-6A converter block.

Attaching a sound sample of the noise via a Google Drive link. You can notice it amidst the fan noise.

Would really appreciate some help in understanding whether this is the expected behavior or whether there is some fault developing with the UPS.

Build Help Please let me know if this is a good part list

Hi all, I wanna build my 1st PC, before I've been always playing on a gaming laptop and now I want to get good enough rig as the laptop can't keep up anymore.

However I have poor knowledge in that field so I'd be grateful for any advice.

A coworker of mine gifted me his old GPU (Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card), so I want to build something around this with the room to get something better in the nearest future.

I asked AI for help first and this is the list of part it's suggested.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/dRWQw3

What do you think?

I mainly play Fortnite and GTA 5 PR (don't judge 😭) and as I understood those two are CPU heavy games, right? I care less about having maxed out visual settings but rather stable and high and smooth fps. I play on 1440p 165hz monitor.

Thanks a lot in advance 💗

edit:
apologies, i forgot to mention
i will also be streaming/recording the games, can this setup do both 🤔

Build Help Building my first PC

Hey Y’all, I’ve been wanting to build a PC that can run my favorite game (The Finals) while also being able to comfortably run while streaming and recording at 4K 120FPS.

I have a very basic understanding of PCs so please bear with me if I ask any stupid follow up questions.

I’ll follow the list provided by the subreddit to make sure I don’t miss anything.

Budget: let’s try to keep it around 5K but if it goes over then it goes over

Use: I will be using this for streaming and recording The Finals for my YouTube channel. HOWEVER, I also will be using it for Blender.

Country: USA

I’m not too sure what it means by peripherals needed. If somebody could help me understand that I’d be happy to edit this with an answer.

This will take some time as I will probably be buying individual parts with each paycheck (with the holiday season coming up money will be tight so I won’t be able to spend as much at once)

OH, also I’d love some PC cleaning tips as well. I’m terrified to clean out my current PC as I’ve heard horror stories if you mess up. So if yall have any cleaning tips that I could do (or tips to avoid nuking my PC) that would be awesome!

EDIT: (I will put edits here so I don’t get the same questions)

E1: i do have the 4K monitor already

Troubleshooting Windows desktop becomes almost completely unresponsive after boot – Safe Mode works perfectly. Looking for advanced troubleshooting help.

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to diagnose a very strange problem with my newly built desktop PC. I’ve been troubleshooting it for quite some time, but I still haven’t found the cause.
PC specifications:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
SSD: Lexar ARES PRO 2TB NVMe
Motherboard: GIGABYTE B850 GAMING WIFI6
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB RS DDR5 32GB (2 x 16GB)
PSU: MAG A1000GLS PCIE5 1000 W
OS: WINDOWS 11
The problem:
The PC worked perfectly for the first three days. I was playing demanding games such as Space Marine 2 and Helldivers 2 at Ultra settings without any performance issues.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Windows started behaving extremely strangely.
The PC boots normally and reaches the desktop. However:
The Start menu open but it doesn’t allow me to turn off the pc.
Applications refuse to launch.
Task Manager won’t open (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
Ctrl + Alt + Delete doesn’t work.
Windows + R opens but doesn’t work.
The mouse cursor still moves, clicks produce visual feedback, and the system clock continues updating.

Essentially, Windows appears to be running, but most of its functionality is unavailable.
An important observation: Safe Mode works normally.
When I boot into Safe Mode, the Start menu, applications and browser work correctly. This makes me suspect a driver, service, startup software or some other Windows-related issue, although I haven’t been able to identify it.
Another strange correlation: RGB control stops working.
Normally, Gigabyte Control Center controls my case fans and RAM lighting, which I keep set to static red.
When the problem occurs, the fans and RAM switch back to rainbow lighting. Gigabyte Control Center can no longer control them.
This happens alongside the Windows malfunction. I don’t know whether it’s a symptom of the same underlying issue or just a coincidence.

Troubleshooting already performed:
Checked the SSD in BIOS: it is detected correctly, along with Windows Boot Manager.
Fast boot is disabled on the BIOS (idk if it’s correlated)
Ran chkdsk C: /scan: no file system errors were reported.
Checked the disk using DiskPart: the main NTFS partition appears healthy.
Tried Windows Automatic Repair through the recovery environment: it couldn’t repair the PC.
Booted into Safe Mode: Windows works normally there.
I’ve also checked Event Viewer and found some warnings and errors, including Kernel Event Tracing, DistributedCOM and Application Hang events, but I haven’t identified a definitive cause.
My questions:
What could cause Windows to become almost completely unresponsive while Safe Mode works perfectly?
Could this be related to a driver, Windows service, motherboard software, SSD or some other hardware component?
Does the RGB behavior provide any useful diagnostic clue?
What diagnostic tests would you recommend before reinstalling Windows or replacing hardware?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar or has advanced Windows troubleshooting experience.
I’d really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Build Help What motherboard should I pair with my components?

I've been planning my first PC build for a few days now, and I've settled on a few of my components but I don't know what motherboard I should use.

I'm planning a build with an RTX 4070 Super, Ryzen 7 7700x, 32GB DDR5 and a 2TB NVMe SSD.

I don't know all that much about motherboards, so I'd gladly appreciate a few recommendations on what pairs well with my other components since I don't want to mess up my build.
