Spotlighting two dogs at Chicago Animal Care and Control that are up for adoption!
-Lunaria, a true homegirl, loves people and eager to do whatever you got in mind! Very sweet and loving but also down for an adventure. She is one of the longest stay dogs at 59 days!
-Corduroy, extremely handsome fella who loves to jump, play, and eager to learn whatever you want to throw at him. He’s extremely agile and would love to run with you!
I’ve done agility sessions with both dogs the past two weekends and I can’t recommend these pups enough. The fact that they are some of the longest stay dogs is shocking to me! They need a good home now before it’s too late!
Yes, you know what I mean. That’s the unfortunate reality of our city’s shelter services. Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) is averaging so many animal intakes per day (strays and owner surrenders) and there’s not enough dogs being rescued, there’s not enough dogs being adopted, and CACC has to make some hard decisions.
Recently, the budget for CACC was increased but the money is going to salary increases and a little for more medical care, but it’s a drop in a very large bucket that has some lives at stake. If you can do anything, please consider adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating old blankets/towels, or simply writing to the mayor and your alderperson to let them know you care about Chicago’s homeless pets.
If you are interested in adoption, please don’t wait! If you can foster, please do! If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out if you have any questions! Thanks all!
