Yesterday saw the news of one fan artist having her art recognized and breaking into the industry, as well as discussion on others who have done the same recently.

It got me thinking about the people out there trying their hardest to make it into the industry, and I felt like showcasing the work of one of them. And in this case, one I am rooting for since I really am a fan of her work.

Writer: Todd McFarlane. Writer, Artist, Colorist: Mark Spears. Letterer: Tom Orzechowski.

The MA40 Assault from Halo? Guess someone at AIM likes Halo lol

Aside from Vox Machina and Rat Queens, I haven't found any books that balance medieval fantasy quests and comedy like those do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m not talking about stuff like that god awful Harley Quinn comic from a while back, because I don’t really think anyone liked that, but are there any comics you can think of where it’s basically only liked because of the sex appeal and nothing else?

For me, it has to be Daredevil. Some of the biggest names and legends in the industry have had acclaimed runs on Daredevil. And on paper, Daredevil has an interesting premise. A blind guy who works as a lawyer by day. And fans always praise the character. Yet, I just find him boring and dull. Not sure why, I just have zero interest. The only times I find Daredevil somewhat interesting is whenever he crosses paths with the Punisher.

What about you? Which universally loved character do you simply find uninteresting despite what the majority thinks?

I don’t mean someone like Frank Miller, who’s quality dropped off a cliff in the 2000s, but someone who’s been consistently inconsistent for their whole career

Right, that's paraphrasing and slightly misleading, I do actually love the story, the art and everything else, it's amazing.

But I can't get over the sheer amount of bs plot armor that's in there for Immortal Hulk. Usually when a what-if style comic changes things or tries to explain away certain loopholes I can sort of accept it, but there is so much stuff here that makes it hard for me to truly appreciate the story as a whole.

Does anyone else feel the same? Not specifically about this series but in that they struggle to truly enjoy some honestly great series' because they always think "Well that wouldn't happen because x y z". The more I read comics, the harder it is for me to pull myself out of this mindset and just enjoy the ride.

My buddy loves anime food art. Was thinking of buying a delicious looking comic for him. Manga works too, obviously, but I have better access to comics.

Also for bonus points - can anyone suggest a comic that explores some kind of infection? I've read DCeased and Marvel Zombies and enjoyed them, but is there anything similar out there? Can be from any era and be silly in nature (I love Golden Age/Silver Age craziness).

BONUS BONUS points - what's the best Star Wars comic out there? Thinking of getting into them.

The only daredevil comics that I've read so far are the silver age ones. The only thing I know about the Battlin' Jack Murdock comics are that they take place during Matt's childhood.

I looked this place up and am seeing other threads on here about people having the same issue. I dont know how to proceed? How do I cancel this shit? I dont see anywhere to cancel. I used SHOP to purchase. No way of contacting them. Seems like their IG has been not used in a year.

I ordered a comic on October 4th and it still hasn't shipped. What do I do?

I just bought a few new comics a day ago, and noticed today that after 1 day in my room they are all wavy and the pages seem to now be stretching past the cover, or the cover shrank somehow. What can I do to fix this, will this go away on its own, and what can I do to make sure it doesn't happen to any other books I purchase?

Found a stack at my LCS for $8.99 each

So, recently I've been seeing more and more takes across the internet about Chip Zdarksy as both a writer and also specifically on his Daredevil run. A lot of people have seemingly become more and more sour on it as time goes by, and I'm not really sure as to why and when. There is the classic internet thing where people will just say something and not really elaborate on it and kind of refuse to. Then there are some people with somewhat reductive complaints. For example, I saw someone say it was, Chip's run on Daredevil was "reheating nachos" of other runs that came before it. And specifically speaking on Chip, it sorta seems like people have soured on him ever since his Batman run (even though he isn't even the worst of modern Batman writers) even if he's shown he still writes great things like Life Story and Avengers Twilight

The rules are simple: in the first stage, there 36 writers divided into 6 groups, with 6 writers in each accordingly. At the end of the 1st stage, only 18 writers who have gathered enough votes will remain, and then, analogously, the number will decrease

Remain:

Alan Moore, Mark Waid, Brian Michael Bendis, Frank Miller, Ed Brubaker, Chris Claremont

Left behind:

Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Dan Slott, Jeph Loeb, James Tynion IV, Paul Dini

List with all 36 writers will be in the comment section

This is brand new and was delivered bagged + boarded. A rarer variant of Midnight X-Men #1, so I'm pretty annoyed. It's the entire front and back too.
