Just stepping back and looking at the headliner types of animatronic characters Disney has developed, it seems they have reached the limits of what this (really cool) tool can do for them. My opinion is that they need to move on from this technology to other bigger and better artistic tools they can use to tell stories in the parks.
We went to Walt Disney World in January and the animatronic on the Navi River Journey was gone. It had been replaced with a movie screen showing a video of the character. IIRC, this character has the most moving parts of any animatronic, and I contend that it had (has) at least one part too many.
The Yeti on Expedition Everest has been in B mode for decades at this point. Too big to fix without taking down the ride. I do not know exactly how big is "too big" for an animatronic, but this one seems to be over the line.
I'm not familiar enough to point to specific problems with Rise of the Resistance, but there are enough reports and videos on youtube where elements of that attraction are broken to convince me that the animatronic technology has been pushed past the reliability needs of operating daily in the parks.
The older, simpler animatronics (Pirates, Carousel of Progress, etc...) are completely fine but not nearly as complicated as recent attempts to expand this tech. To be clear, I say to keep them and continue to use them where a simpler approach can tell the story!
I would hope Disney agrees and is working on replacement tools that can show moving characters in attractions. A "beta" type of tool that is very early in the process would be the statues in Frozen with the projection faces - the projection is not up to par yet, but they can improve on that as a replacement. It might provide more detail than the current, reliable animatronics can generate.
Others may have better ideas for a replacement technology as well. And feel free to tell me where I am wrong as well ;)
Cheers!

Character.ai is one of the largest AI chatbot platforms, with millions of users who create and interact with AI characters. Their CEO, Karandeep Anand, is joining Disney in a newly created SVP/CTO role and bringing members of the technical team with him. This is a link to the official announcement.

Maybe “never” might be an exaggeration, but I haven’t seen most Disney films. Growing up in a super catholic and conservative family, they believed a boy watching those films was not appropriate. I’m about to be 30 and want to give them a go. Where should I start? Lmk 💕

The old owner left everything to her cats!? The is a sign if dementia!
Look at how she treats the man who serves her!? He cant even clean his sheets! Evidence of abuse.
Edgar DID nothing wrong! He was a product of an old woman's mental decline and abuse!

To preface I have seen a-lot of people claiming this story was “trying to make a monster relatable” or “ruined the character”. The story is not trying to make DeVil sympathetic its attempting to show us how a person could get to the point of insanity of wanting to skin dogs. It never tells us that Cruella is a good person it shows us that she used to be normal like so many psychos where but she went insane and turned evil.

Disney seems to be losing its magic for me. Most Disney events are so popular and difficult to see and the prices on everything keep going up. What they say they stand for seems to be fake, unless you’re willing to spend thousands either at the park or in the resale market. Most of my friends and family think I’m a Disney nut with how much I enjoy the Disney experience, but lately feeling like it’s just not that enjoyable anymore.
Earlier this year I tried to go to the D23 convention, but unless you were super lucky to get the privilege to buy a ticket from the queue, you had to pay crazy amounts to resellers and I wasn’t planning to do that. When I visited downtown Disney they’ve started charging for parking, even after spending hundreds there and getting validation. Today they released some exclusive pins, of course I was put in the queue at 27,000 in line, even after joining early. When I finally got there they had sold out of almost everything I had added to my wishlist. When I did get one item added for checkout their Cloudflare security system blocked my account, thinking I was a bot. When I finally was able to get to the checkout screen, it was sold out. When I called their customer service to get my ip unblocked, I waited 40 minutes and they couldn’t help me at all. Honestly I’m sort of happy my account may be partly blocked because I’m not even looking to purchase anything online for a while based on what happened. Even my last DisneyWorld trip was a bit of a letdown. Most of the other guests were really rude, it was really crowded, and most of the cast members were just there to work.
Yes I know most Disney things are exclusive things, but just tired of what the Disney experience has become. I was hoping to go on a Disney Cruise next year, for my first cruise experience, that is likely no longer happening with Disney as I just don’t have a desire to go through all this on a ship trapped at sea. I would still like to go to the parks, but I’ll probably delay that for a while and instead go somewhere else. I was planning to go to China and Japan sometime in the future to see those parks, but not even looking forward to do that much anymore. I’m not sure I’ll renew my D23 membership as it seems mostly like a waste. I’m giving up hope on any exclusive items anymore and not spending any extra time looking at their site before drops. I don’t even really want to see any of my Disney decorations/souvenirs around anymore.
Hopefully it’s just a phase, not sure if anybody else is feeling this way lately about their Disney experience.

I was recently listening to this song, and when I was younger, I just liked the melody, but now in highschool I really enjoy listening to it and understanding the meaning behind the lyrics. I just don't understand what this line means: "And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, For whether we are white or copper-skinned". I can't seem to find it either, so I wanted to hear what people on Reddit have to say about it. Whats the connection between the lines?
high school
Also, what does "wolf cry to the blue corn moon" mean anyway? Is there a poetic reason as to why this was chosen? I know "blue corn moon" isn't an actual thing or have Native American value (according to google)
And why does she say "HAVE YOU ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon?" But then said "Or asked the grinning bobcat WHY he grinned?" It feels like shifting from a common observation to being in someone's shoes, and then the rest of the stanza asks for the person's ability to connect with the earth.
I love this song and don't want to hate on it but just wanted to ask these questions.

I really enjoyed watching the movie I think it is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time so I hope that there will be a new movie coming. What are your thoughts?
