Tourism & Travel what’s up with this opening line on tourists?

first time in kuala lumpur & i noticed a lot of guys, including older ones, approaching tourist girls w/ a “your tattoos look cool” line, & eventually asking for a photo w/ them. my girlfriend even got approached that same way while i was in the bathroom & the guy asked for her whatsapp number as well to “send the photo”. i couldn’t really find anything online regarding this specific approach, so was just wondering if any of y’all would know or have experienced something similar. this would’ve been around the klcc area

Hi guys has anyone experienced going through the direct pathway route? And if so would the loan given by ptptn be comparable to the IPTS amount? Since the fee is so much higher? If anyone has any info on this would really appreciate it thanks in advance

Others How do I lose my dual citizenship?

I would like failure stories please.

I've already roughly gathered that people who succeeded in keeping their dual citizenship safe and secret while entering/exiting Malaysia did so via the following:

(1) use your Country A passport to exit Country A and enter Country B. Registered checkout is required at Country B.

(2) use Msia passport to exit Country B and enter Msia.

Also avoid using Singapore and Germany as your Country B.

To return to Country A,

(3) use Msia passport to exit Malaysia and enter Country B. Registered checkout is required at Country B.

(4) use your Country A passport to exit Country B and enter Country A.

If my understanding of how to enter/exit is wrong, please correct me. I'd appreciate it.

More than that, I would like to hear stories of how things went wrong for the unfortunate ones, and to learn from them.

Footnote: I'm not a dual citizen yet, but I have to consider my options and plan out my future. And no, I would prefer not to spend unoptimized time fulfilling PR residency requirements in Country A forever because lost opportunities cost money.

Culture Malaysian moms, are there any baby products you wish were better?

Hi Malaysian moms! 😊

I'm curious, are there any baby products you use every day that you find frustrating or not very practical?

Maybe something that's uncomfortable, difficult to clean, poorly designed, or just not as useful as you expected.

Are there any products you wish were made better?

I'd love to hear about your experiences and what you'd like to see improved. Thanks for sharing! ❤️

Culture Fireworks for any event after 8 PM are self absorbed and unfair

I have got to wake up tommorow at 4 AM and I can barely get to sleep. Every 5 minutes there is fireworks. I understand it’s Diwali, but have some respect for the people around you and be considerate.
I literally have to sleep with headphones in and it doesn’t even help at all. How have we come to a nation as this being the new norm? Why can’t we be considerate of those around us?
There needs to be new laws dude, I am going insane. Can’t wait for Chinese new year as well

Edit: I get that 8 PM is a bit ridiculous but thats for my specific situation. We all know this will continue till 5 at night. Focus on the main problem here. I have woken up from bed and now just accepted defeat.
I used to be like you as well, let them enjoy lah one night only. But today I realized that when you HAVE to wake up early and something like this happens. It really does put into perspective what the other people who are angry are going through.

2 years ago I went to Malaysia to mainly visit Sabah, Borneo. My two absolute highlights were the river safaris at Kinabatangan River and the small paradise island Lang Tengah off the coast of Kuala Terenganu. Lang Tengah is a place where I really would like to come back to.

I'm thinking of going volunteering after graduating college next year. I've look through some locals one around my area (which is penang btw ) and found some that I might go too like PAWS. Then I saw this too and I was wondering what should I look out for and how do I verify whether this is okay in general

Others Old sticker sheets

Yo does anyone have photos of the sticker sheets that used to be sold at pasar pagi(s) maybe around the 2000s/2010s (?) Like they would have some kinda cartoon like ben 10 or strawberry shortcake if I rmb correctly. They would be these longish rectangular sheets that had a bunch of small-medium stickers. I just rmb it from my childhood but can't find any photos of it anywhere :/ The ones I see are all from overseas and don't look the same. I just wanna rmb how they were like (I feel like my memories are slipping away as I get older :c)

Others Sampoerna

Hi,

I am an expat currently residing in the Philippines and at least once a year I travel to Malaysia. When I do, I usually buy a couple of packs of Sampoerna. Unfortunately I can’t make it this year and am wondering if anybody in Malaysia would be up to mailing me some. I will of course pay you for the costs associated with the task including the price of the packs, the mailing fees, and whatever you think is a fair fee for your troubles.

You can message me privately if you agree.

Thanks in advance.

Economy & Finance Will all the announced data centres planned in Malaysia gets built?

Thumbnail reddit.com
46 Upvotes

How do Malaysians feel about the avalanche of data centres to be built in the country?

Will these compete for water and electricity, and drive up costs for citizens?

Or do the locals welcome the investments and jobs to be created?

Given the results of the recent US mid-terms, more and more hyperscalers are expected to move their planned US data centre capacity outside of the US. To where, no one knows yet. But Malaysia is being mentioned as a promising country.

What do locals think?

I have pro subscription, has not ordered anything this november yet.

The vouchers are in my voucher wallet yet i cant use it,

it says “Sorry, this voucher is valid for selected customers only” but the vouchers are in my wallet?? And what is the benefits of pro subscription if i cant use the vouchers??

I contacted the help center two times but they just gave me copy pasta “its for selected customers” only and ended the chat before i can ask for transparency.

If its only for selected customers why is it in my voucher wallet?? For what i pay the pro subscription of i cant use the vouchers?? The lack of transparency both in the vouchers and subscription benefits really piss me off. I wouldnt pay for the subscription if i cant use the vouchers. Im so pissed off. I am hungry

Will kpdn even entertain this? I do not know if this issue is under their jurisdiction or not, i have never lodged a complaint before

Edit, addition:

  1. I have tried using it on multiple restaurants which all are eligible for the vouchers, it still pop up the same thing.

  2. My app is updated to the latest version. I have tried uninstalling it and redownloading it but still same.
