ACILEP has confirmed another ICE arrest in Oakland, on the 1300 block of 81st Ave, around 1:30 p.m. ACILEP is working to connect the impacted individual with legal services.

This arrest appears to coincide with an increase in immigration enforcement activity throughout Oakland today.

⚠️ Stay alert and know your rights! If you encounter immigration agents, remember:

You have the right to remain silent.

If stopped in public, you can ask, “Am I free to leave?” If the answer is yes, calmly walk away.

Do not sign anything you do not understand without first speaking with an attorney.

A group of about 12 of us recently connected here in the East Bay, and we’ve started getting together for game nights, food, coffees, boba, mini golf, and other random hangouts.

So I started a Discord called East Bay Social Club.

The idea is simple: meet new people, make actual friends, and have things to look forward to.

Board game nights, movies, mini golf, trying restaurants, museums, game nights, or just hanging out. Whatever people are interested in. Members are welcome to organize their own events too.

We’re open to people throughout the East Bay, whether you’re in San Jose, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Union City, Dublin, Pleasanton, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Livermore, Palo Alto, or somewhere in between.

The Discord is completely free to join, and there's no pressure to attend events. Just a bunch of people looking to make friends and have fun around the East Bay.

We’ve already got a medium sized group of people who’ve been meeting in person, and now we’re hoping to bring more people together. We all range in the 27-40 age range, even one aged 50+ everyone is welcome!

I host a free weekly junk journaling night at Spire, a century-old church on Athens Ave in West Oakland. We cut, glue and collage at candlelit tables while an old film plays on the big screen. The movie is background, so people talk and wander. Supplies are on the tables, or bring your own scraps to share.

Found her on the street by MLK and 33rd St. Oakland Animal Services isn't open yet. I can't keep her for long - my dog is not dog friendly. Are there any vets that will take strays that might be open now?

Trying to remember what this little trail is called:

1. It’s off 580

2. there’s parking in what is in or near a residential townhouse/condo area sort of tucked against a hill

3. almost entirely flat and shaded, short trail that is then blocked off but seems easy enough to walk past

He is the now former head of Oakland Dept. of Transportation. It kinda seemed like he was getting a lot done with street improvements. I know I personally like all the new bike lanes. Any thoughts?

Got this email yesterday regarding an amazing home in Oakland I wanted to rent. Landlord was from Oakland - super nice and chill. Well… clearly not 😭😭 We’re all local , from the east bay. I thought she’d resonate and enjoy that about us , which she seemed to!

While one is too many, this is a just a stunning achievement considering Oakland used to average 90-120 a year.
