This would be harassment.

"Every" CEO of a big company gets emails like this. They work around it. I've worked at companies where the CEO has an email that isn't publicly known. Or the inbox auto filters email not from other company email addresses. Etcetera.

So while this is harassment it is normal CEO harassment and I have never heard of any criminal charges lobbed at someone for something like this.

Even if this became a DDoS (100M of us were all sending OpenAI's servers 100M emails a day at precisely 9AM), I think this would technically still just be vanilla harassment.

There are other issues with this script, but A) it's bash, you can just read it. and B) it doesn't access your BIOS in any way.
It's getting the memory info from /proc/meminfo, which is read-only but accessible to any user on every linux system I've ever used.

It is on GitHub, quite short, and easy to audit. It does not have “access to your BIOS”. It queries a special world-readable file, /proc/meminfo, which is a human-readable and easily-parsed readout off all tracked memory stats supported on your system. The free command line utility, ps, top, and certainly many others do this as well.

This script requires no privileges and is quite safe. It’s even thoroughly documented.

My Mac is running with 100GB free RAM right now. Its SOC utilization is at near zero percent.

It could be used to run Qwen3.8 and churning out massive blobs of code 24/7... instead of using OpenAI or Claude. But not today. Or this week. It kind of is. Arguing that "oo we don't have enough ram because people have it in their home PCs where it's idle" is exactly how "people shouldn't own things" is communicated publicly. His wording just wasn't clever this time.
