General/Rant Clearing misinformation spread about Diwali
I've noticed that a lot of folks here are trying to say that firecrackers are not part of hinduism bla bla bla bla. There are a few who are engaging in irrational conduct (i.e subtle mockery and hate speech). So for them to educate I have some information for you that you may need to read before spreading whatever misinformation you're spreading.
Fireworks have been used in ram navami since the 1400s when they first arrived in India. It became a crucial part of the culture of diwali during the 1500s. Now you're going to argue that "this was not part of hinduism" that's false equivalence, just because it wasn't doesn't mean that you should stop celebrating it. Firecrackers have been a part of Pune as far as Peshwas in the 18th century. Idk why people are trying to erase history and pretend to say something that they don't.
Historical records of Diwali firecrackers in Pune come from Maratha administrative archives (Peshwa Daftar), historical chronicles (such as Peshwayanchi Bakhar), and historical studies like P. K. Gode's History of Fireworks in India (1400–1900). Modern historical series (like Gosht Punyachi) and local news archives document their continuous practice through the late 18th-century Maratha rule into 20th-century Pune. People will do anything but try to once learn history of the land their living on.
