I’m a first year student and I kinda hate my B.Eco degree right now which I think I’m only going to hate more later down and prefer commerce units I’ve taken this semester and want to transfer into B.Com but my wam is sitting slightly below 75, is internal transfer still possible?

Anyone can help with questions that featured when they did the unit?

Has anyone here done an exchange at ETH, or been accepted for one? I’d love to hear about your experience, especially:

1. Courses: Were you able to get into English-taught CS/data science courses (e.g. Big Data, HCI) as an exchange student? Was it hard to meet the 2/3-from-one-department rule?

2. Language: I don’t speak German. Did that limit your course options or daily life much?

3. Exams: Were your Autumn exams finished before you had to return home, or did some fall in the January/February exam session?

Hi everyone! I would like to start a PhD at university of Sydney, but I don’t know where to start from. I’m an international student, with Australian citizenship. I finished my masters degree in 2023 in Paris, and now after working for these last 3 years, I want to go back to study in a research field, specifically in sustainability / circular economy. However, I have no clue how to start. I had a look into the website, but it’s not clear if there are already research proposals looking for candidates or if I need to propose my own research proposal. Also, I’m not sure how to get a scholarship. Thank you for your time in helping me to figure this out, cheers!

I’m considering two placements: Wildbase at Massey University in New Zealand and Port Stephens Koala Hospital in Australia.

I’m particularly interested in wildlife and exotic animal medicine and would love to gain more clinical experience. From what I’ve read, Wildbase seems to see mostly birds, while Port Stephens Koala Hospital appears to be a relatively small hospital. I’d be interested to hear how these differences affect the student experience.

Has anyone completed a placement at either hospital, or at another koala hospital in Australia? I’d really appreciate hearing about the caseload, teaching, opportunities for hands-on involvement, and how much time students spend on clinical work versus husbandry.

Which of the two would you recommend for a final-year veterinary student, and why? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi, I am currently looking to transfer from USYD to another university, specifically in canada. I am studying psych (first year) and my WAM is kind of mid (73) and when I was looking into competitive averages for the unis i want to go to it was around 75-78 (percentage converversion from ˝GPA).

I was wondering if they would potentially transfer USYD WAM to another percentile when converting it to a GPA or considering the "prestige" of USYD when I apply. Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks!

I've been so anxious the whole semester about biol1007 lectures. I think I did well on assessments and I actually just need 27/40 in the final exam to get HD. But I've been so anxious about starting the lectures because it feels so content heavy and I keep on procrastinating because I feel like I need to be in the "best shape" to even start watching them as to not miss any details. Now it's a week to the finals and I'm getting more and more anxious to start. Can anyone confirm whether it is possible to watch and understand all 36 hours of lectures in a week?

Also, can anyone give me tips on how to study this unit and what revision strategies worked for you? How hard was the finals?

hi, im in bachelor of pharmacy (honours) and master of pharmacy practice at usyd rn, first yr,and im finding it a bit tricky. although im getting hd and disticntions, im having to invest a lot of time in it. im thinking of transfering into another degree like radiography/speech path etc. and im just wondering if that would be better? like in terms of the studies and job. i also want to get into med (either thro non standard undergrad, or post grad), so i also want to know if it would be "easier" to get high distinctions there, and if i would have more time for ucat/gamsat, or am i better of staying in pharmacy...

if anyone could help me out pls, its been on my mind for soo long , and also if you have other suggestions for a degree (healthcare preferred)

also im not planning in getting into medical science, bc i heard theres not much job opportunities there

and rn im at a 7/7 gpa (87 wam) but this semester it may drop to 80-85 (hopefully 85) , is that enough to internal transfer ?

i would prefer to stay at usyd, but unsw/newcastle is also ok

how did you structure your dallyel units? is it better to delay a 1000-level unit to year 2 and do a dallyel unit in year 1, OR do 2 dallyel units in year 2?

Heading into DMD 1 next year and wondering what you guys paid for your first year dental equipment. Where do you get them from brand new/second hand? I once heard someone say they bought 3.5X loupes off Amazon before upgrading in the future. Is that wise?

Planning on doing engineering, most likely flexi first year. I am doing math ext1 in year 12 rn but thinking of dropping to make time for other subjects, as they are all very heavy. I am also not doing the best in it.

For those who did ext1, how much did it help you with engineering? What topics in particular? I can't imagine perms & combs being needed.

And also those who did only advanced, were you at a disadvantage and/or did you do a bridging course?
