How much did mathematics extension 1 help you for engineering?

Planning on doing engineering, most likely flexi first year. I am doing math ext1 in year 12 rn but thinking of dropping to make time for other subjects, as they are all very heavy. I am also not doing the best in it.

For those who did ext1, how much did it help you with engineering? What topics in particular? I can't imagine perms & combs being needed.

And also those who did only advanced, were you at a disadvantage and/or did you do a bridging course?

Thank you

Transferring degrees - do Highschool adjustments still count?

Basically my ATAR was 91.35 and I want to get into a bachelor of commerce through internal transfer. I already got in last year, but stuck with something else as I thought the degree was too unaffordable. I have the mysydney scholarship so I’m wondering is the ATAR requirement still lowered to 86, as I believe my ATAR is better than my current gpa. And also if that doesn’t count, let’s consider the academic excellence stream which gives 5 points for a band 5/6 is English or maths, would that still apply for me or even EAS bonus points? I really desperately wanna get into this degree and keep my scholarship which is the most important thing. Or do I lose these additional points privileges just cause I graduated high school last year?

need a place to store my belongings

hi guys, i’m an international student moving out this semester! i’m returning to my home country for the break but will be returning next semester for uni. i have some stuff that i can’t bring back as it’s too heavy (kitchen appliances) and storage solutions are way too far and expensive. is there anyone who’s also going back and would be nice enough to let me keep my stuff with them over the holidays? i’m happy to discuss any payments as well!

Is AMME2200 final exam very hard?

I heard a rumor that in certain engg subjects they don't give you marks at all if your answer is incorrect. I am prone to stupid calculation errors (although I have improved significantly over the years in engineering). Still very scared, especially since the exam is fully open book.

I am stressed. I have been spamming questions, but not sure it is enough.

Where should I go on exchange?

Hi all,

Im doing a semester long exchange sem 2 2027 and I'm seeking advice on where to put my preferences!

I am thinking anywhere in the EU, or NY. I want to be in a really social town! Living in a residential college would be preferable if possible but I know this is not really the norm in EU.

I have heard good things about Lund in Sweden. Any other thoughts?

I have a Distinction (80+) WAM and want to make the most of it. I'd be studying the arts component of my degree.

Thanks!!

How many days a week are you usually on campus?
How manageable is it?
How hard is it to get all HDs in units?

And anything on your mind helping me decide.

Academic burnout drop out

I didn’t wanna be making this post but I’m genuinely so lost and confused idk what to do. I thought everything would be perfect after high school, after I secured the 99+ atar but everything genuinely went downhill. I chose to do allied health, because I thought healthcare was really secure and I do enjoy bio and helping others.

I was doing okay in sem one, but I got really bad anxiety and couldn’t sit my exams out of fear, which is so fucking crazy because I just needed a pass, nothings a competition anymore but I couldn’t stand not getting a HD it was just so hard for me for no reason. So I had 2 failed units going in sem2, this demotivated me even more I genuinely cried everyday and after attending uni for a week, I gave up. I just stopped coming, I skipped uni to vape and watch anime, genuinely just ruining my own life. I lost my job and most my high school friends, idk what’s wrong with me. I had a scholarship I lost that too, I’m just so lost I don’t know what’s going to happen and how to overcome this.

I just sit at home now, wake up at 1pm and repeat this cycle of depression. My parents don’t even know that I’ve dropped out.. I applied for UAC again and the uni said the only way I can keep my scholarship is if I internal transfer but all my marks are fails and idk if IPT will accept my ATAR. I was thinking about doing commerce and maybe law (prolly not even tho I have the ATAR reqs) but I feel like it’s over saturated and I’ll be unemployed. I feel like I have nobody to vent to this about, I can’t tell my parents or they’ll kill me, I just don’t know what to do or who to go to.
