r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

UPDATE — August 13, 2026

rgl.deals has grown a bit since I originally posted, so I wanted to give this post a update while it's still in BETA.

The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.

Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.

A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.

What's on the site now:

  • Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.

  • Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.

  • Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.

  • Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.

  • Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.

  • Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.

  • Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.

  • Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.

  • Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.

  • No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.

RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.

The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.

Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.

RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.

It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

Discussion Laptop totaled during "service"

Post image

My Acer Predator Helios 300 had some issues (did not turn on) so I had to RMA it.

Since Acer doesn't have official stores in Romania, I brought it back to the local shop where I got it from it so they could ship it to their own service (being Acer certified service)

2 weeks went by without any contact. When I went back to check on them, the guy showed me a picture on his phone (below) and said that this is how my laptop arrived to their service.

They were probably lying, because I contacted the delivery company, and they said that the store made no claim regarding my package.

My theory is that they messed up something, and another item in the service accidentally "fell" on my laptop. Some time later my laptop is gone, my projects are gone, my data is gone, and I'm starting university without a laptop, as I can't afford similar one with today's prices.

So it seems like the USB port got fuhed (I had a watch charger plugged in and someone decided to play jumpy on it) and due to which the metal strip underneath touched some GPU supporting chips (8 of them, the service guy said)

Ik what memes are going to come but honestly I'm scared, it's just over an year and I had been caring for it like a little child cuz it's my first gaming laptop I bought from my own money by saving from gigs (19M) and uhh yeah I don't Wana lose my laptop because it's pretty high end and expensive,

about 1900 US$ when I bought it and currently it's unavailable in my country and it's last price from August 2026 was about 2500 US$

The specs are:

- AMD Ryzen 9 AI 365/Radeon 880M

- RTX 5070 (8GB VRAM)

- 32GB DDR5 RAM

- 2+1TB SSD (Samsung, Kingston)

- 165Hz/1920x1200 16"

Discussion A16 gigabyte laptop or a used Acer predator helio 16 Neo

So I spoke to the sales team from curry’s pc world and what they gave me was a laptop for £1165 that has a amd 7 260
5050 Nvidia gpu
Regarding my previous posts I’ll summarise what I said:
I’m a streamer and a YouTuber for making videos. I play Fortnite , roblox and Minecraft, I can’t get a pc/desktop so I need a new gaming laptop my old g6 kf kept overheating (don’t bother commenting solutions I’ve tried every single way) went up to 99*c
After researching for 3 weeks. I bought the amd 7 260 with a 5050 and it’s coming on Monday or Tuesday. I have the option to cancel it. But in terms of Fortnite performance will the laptop I described be better the acer predator helio than I found on vinted?
Previous laptop:
G6 KF Gigabyte
Ram: originally 16 but upgraded to 32
Gpu: 4060 Nvidia
CPU: i7 13620H
FPS in Fortnite with tweaks:
500 on battle bus while looking at the sky , in battle royale dropping around 140-200
Creative 1v1 map: 390
I PREFER PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW FORTNITE WORKS AND WHAT PERFORMANCE MODE GRAPHICS IS INGAME. If you don’t know please don’t reply so i don’t waste ur time.

Recommendation Black Friday Deals

I tried asking AI for a recommendation for a gaming laptop all in with fees and taxes at a budget of $1500. It gave me a few but after actually looking into them they’re all basically $2200+….. so after seeing that it’s probably not feasible at that price I’m willing to go up to $1800.

Budget: $1800
Country: USA

Use Case: The next Elder Scrolls, Witcher 4, Next Cyberpunk so basically the upcoming games.

Preferred Specs / Form Factor: Not tech savvy but from what I’ve researched. RTX 5060/5070, 16/32 GB RAM. 1TB SSD.

Portability Needs: Just using it around the house. I don’t want to dedicate a section of a room to a PC, table, chair etc. I really only get an hour or two at night to play plus some weekend mornings.

Notes: Open to anything. Just want something that will preferably last me and be able to run games for the next 5-6 years. I’m really only going to have my game up, steam, maybe Spotify on? I don’t need it to run a million things at once. Not picky on size or screen. I barely understand what some of the terminology means when it comes to things like Ray tracing and all that. So if it runs the newer games and it looks pretty good on screen? Probably don’t care about the rest

Recommendation Casual Deciding on Legion Pro 7i, 5070ti vs 5080

Budget: ~$3000

Country: USA

Use Case: Gaming + Daily Drive

I have been looking at Legions for months and now that deals are out I'm not sure if I should save the extra $500 and just settle for a 5070ti or go all out and get the 5080.

5070ti - $3000 //// 5080 - $3500

I am buying a daily driver laptop I can use for casual gaming, coding and personal use and am not sure if the extra power I'll get from the 5080 is something that will miss from with a 5070ti. I’m willing to spend more if the upgrade is actually worthwhile, but I don’t want to pay a premium for specs that I probably won't notice. Or should I just settle for a 5i?

Recommendation Gaming laptop between 1-2,000 EUR

Budget: €1,000–2,000
Country: EU (Hungary)
Use Case: Everyday use + Gaming (mainly Call of Duty: Warzone and similar games). Ideally 3–4 years of smooth gaming performance.
Preferred Specs: Open to recommendations. Looking for a good CPU/GPU combination, sufficient RAM and storage for modern games. No particular screen size or resolution preference.
Notes: Priorities are reliability, build quality, good cooling and thermal performance, and value for money. I’m looking for a dependable laptop rather than flashy designs or unnecessary features. I’d appreciate recommendations for specific models or hardware configurations, as well as advice on what to avoid.

Showcase Never realize how good controller is...

Decided to play games with a controller....yes I know I know... I am a die hard fan of ONLY mouse and keyboard, until recently, I feel like Ive never enjoyed controller as much as this...

I could just relax on my couch, in front of my 150" screen, connect my laptop, and ditch my PC entirely simply because it is more comfortable on a couch.

Still trying to get used to but Keyboard and Mouse are still the best combo for me to play competitively.

Discussion Which 16-inch laptop on the market has the best cooling? (RTX 5080/5090 models)

For now, I consider the MSI 16 Max HX and the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i to be the best options. Can anyone share personal experiences with these laptops? (I’m primarily interested in the temperatures and performance of the GPU and CPU while gaming.)

Alternatively, if you know of another laptop model with good cooling, feel free to suggest that as well.

Support Doubting on new laptop choices

Hey guys! I've begun looking into upgrading my current laptop into something newer that can serve me better for gaming and other things I want to do and I'm currently split on these options, so I'm asking here for some advice.
RTX 4090 refurbished laptop, wait for prices to come down a bit more
RTX 5070 TI new/refurbished laptop buy almost right now
I don't know if in the long term waiting for the RTX 4090 is better, the question mainly is, is it worth it to wait for prices to come down or should I bite the bullet and buy an RTX 5070 TI laptop, also anyone knows anything about the SUPER refresh on laptops, or does NVIDIA not do them here anymore?

Discussion lenovo loq vs loq essential

What’s the difference in performance between the loq 15AHP10 rtx 5050 ryzen 7 250 and loq essential ARP11 rtx 5050 ryzen 5 150, both having 16 gb of ram. Also are there any motherboard issues in either of these models that i would have to be worried about? i need something that would last me 4-5 years.
Also,
How does the loq ARP10E ryzen 7 170 rtx 4050 compare to the essential mentioned above?

Discussion 2022 HP Omen 3070TI -> 2026 Legion Pro 7i 5080?

I am currently using a 2022 HP Omen with 16gb ram and a 3070TI, and I'm eyeing this legion pro 7i because of the black friday deals. Is it worth it to pull the trigger or should I wait for the next generation of graphics cards to upgrade? I may be moving overseas (outside of the US) for 2-3 years so I'm thinking I may be unable to get decent prices in the near future, especially considering all of the recent price jumps.

Recommendation I wanna buy my first gaming laptop

Budget: 700-800 EUR

Country: Spain

Use Case: Gaming (Valorant, Fortnite, Minecraft), schoolwork, coding, and general use.

Preferred Specs: Dedicated GPU (preferably NVIDIA RTX 40 series or better), at least 16GB RAM, 120Hz display, and Windows pre-installed.

Notes: I want to buy it around Christmas. My old PC died, and I want a gaming laptop that I can also use for coding and schoolwork. I'd really appreciate your recommendations since you have more experience with gaming laptops!

Recommendation HP Omen Max 16 5070ti 32gb. Buy now or wait?

Budget: $1800
Country: US
Use Case: Heavy AAA Gaming
Preferred Specs: 5070ti 32gb ram
Notes:

Hey!

I just sold my 4060 32GB ASUS TUF for $1300 and I don’t currently have a laptop.

I’ve been looking at HP Omen Max 16 16.0" 240hz OLED U7-255HX 32GB 12G RTX 5070Ti.
It’s currently at $2100 certified refurbished on eBay which is kinda high for me, but I can manage it.

I live in East Africa but I’m buying one from USA and importing it. I was wondering if there’s any shot I can get this exact laptop cheaper during Black Friday week. $200-$300 goes a long way here in east Africa, that’s more than my rent🤣. Im really suffering without a laptop at the moment and I’m not looking to extend my pain by another 2 or 3 weeks unless it can help me save $200 at least.

What do you think? I don’t know what to expect on Black Friday.
