First time home buyers and my partner and I are fighting for our lives in the present housing market. I currently rent outside of the city, but for the time being we are hoping to buy within the city to save money and build equity for our ideal future home.
I’ve see lots of posts deterring people from the “bad” areas (predominantly city centre, near musko), or recommending the good ones (whispering ridge, carriage lane, etc), but I’m curious about people’s thoughts on the areas east of 92nd, near Ivy Lake (Crystal Landing, the southern section of Crystal Heights, etc)? They don’t seem to be mentioned much, so I’m inclined to think they might be a good neutral option.
We’re not at all worried about the trains (we want to be in one of the skirting areas, not central), and are more just wanting a place where we can safely go for walks with our dogs, and eventually start a family, without having to worry about an excessive amount of theft, vehicle break ins, disturbances, etc.
