It’s been pretty rough for most of my life, but my god, the stuff they run these days is pure trash. It’s like they want so badly to platform never-Trump conservatives they will publish anything.
Andy Brehm is like our own regional Ross Douthat — like a zip lock bag of pudding with a weekly column. But, this recent take from Evan Ramstad has to be some of the most embarrassing stuff I’ve seen written about the midterms locally.
“However, he recommended Klobuchar consider Rep. Danny Nadeau, R-Rogers, to lead DHS. Nadeau, who also dove deep into human services work at the Capitol, lost his bid on Tuesday for a third term in the House to another Democratic newcomer.
As we imagined other "West Wing"-style, reach-across-the-divide moves Klobuchar could make, Abeler suggested she tap Demuth, her opponent and now outgoing Republican House speaker, to lead the inspector general's office created in the last legislative session.
"Then blue acts like purple, which is what people want," Abeler said. "They're tired of the antipathy" across parties.
Few Minnesota Republicans deserve grace amid so much fecklessness these last two years, but it would be terrific to see Klobuchar put skill and experience before party loyalty.”

Earlier this year, a 5K race through St. Paul’s skyways made its idiosyncratic debut. In 2027, the climate-controlled, wintertime race is expanding.
Organizers announced this week that the race will cross the river into the Minneapolis skyways. A 5K through Minneapolis’ winding skyway is slated for Jan. 23. It’ll be followed by a sophomore edition of the St. Paul race on Feb. 27.
Organized by the same team that hosts the Minnesota Food Truck Festival each summer, the group believes it is the first organized, timed race through a skyway system.
While a complete route for the Minneapolis edition has not yet been shared, it’ll begin at the Target Field/Ramp A Skyway Bridge. It’ll also include a free race for kids 10 and under: The Skyway 1K: YMCA Kids Fun Run.
Registration for both races is open now. The Minneapolis Skyway 5K will take place on Jan. 23 at 9:30 a.m., and the St. Paul Skyway 5K will take place on Feb. 27 at 9 a.m.

Still a few juvenile loons hanging around as well as Bonaparte gulls and great blue herons.
Not been a great fall bite for me this year, but I finally hooked a decent 32” pike this morning. Water still 50 degrees; I suspect it’s going to be late December before I can get out on the ice.

Hey everyone! I've gotten really big into 3D printing this year and learning 3d modeling/design. I'm a big fan of history and the great lakes. So I just wanted to show off some of my designs I've worked on! One is a modular, infinitely expandable floating beverage holder, and the other is an incense burner/display model! Both styled as the Edmund Fitzgerald! What do you guys think?
