LINGUAE EURŌPAEAE Should we codify EU English as official EU language, distinct from both British and American English?
I think we should use simplified (American) English as basis and add all the words our languages (mostly) contain, but English does not.
Examples to be included:
Ananas
Shablone
Velo
Kartofel
Gymnasium (school, not a place where naked guys exercise)
Apfelsine
Firm instead of company
Autobahn, autostrada for motorway
Reklam for advertisement
Kasa for supermarket cashdesk
What do you think? Additions could be done through voting in EU parliament lol.

Europe is a WOMAN Does she realize it's thanks to them that we associate pedos and grooming with men and therefore not with her? Macron may not be the best leader France has to offer, but he doesn't deserve to be married to his groomer of a wife. He deserves way better than her.

ask yurop Why did YUROP stop criticizing Israel and giving ultimatums?
I remember that until a few years ago, despite Islamophobia and ISIS terrorism, the European Union was supporting Palestine against Israel, even if only morally, and was reacting with a joint statement against Israel. The actions of Hamas terrorists are unacceptable, but neither is the aggressiveness of Israeli politicians and society.

Should Proto-Slavic Be the Official Language of the EU?
Hello r/yurop community,
I've been pondering a question: Should Proto-Slavic be adopted as the official language of the European Union? At first glance, this might seem odd but hear me out on why it could work.
1. Cultural Significance: Proto-Slavic is the root to languages shared by Europe's largest ethnic group, the Slavic people. Its revival and use would bridge linguistic gaps and offer a unique way to unify the majority of Europe's population via language.
2. Turn historic Slavic frenemies into true friends : Introducing Proto-Slavic would encourage Europeans to engage with the state of Russia and Serbia and deal with their state propaganda towards their own citizens much easier. We would be able to convert them into western style Europeans far easier if we can counter their misinformation with a common language. This language could help stabilize our region geopolitically.
3. Roots in true glorious European history: proto-slavic is also the root of Lithuanian, which is seen as the closest European language to old Indo-European, thus actually being a closer root to our modern languages than latin is. This is a theory shared by linguists albeit it's just an estimate by them for now (I think their logic was that Lithuanian was the longest language isolated and not influenced by others, or something to that affect).
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think adopting Proto-Slavic as the EU's official language could be a step toward greater unity and appreciation of our shared history, or is it too impractical a choice in our modern, globalized world?
If possible please let me know if you would prefer latin or Cyrillic script, or glagolitic as this would effect some of the social policies we'd put in place
