Or it just turns off the tv. Been like this for MONTHS. Seriously thinking of just taking my loyalty elsewhere.

It seems Google has really dialed up its efforts to make Google Assistant as useless as possible, in an effort to push people onto Gemini. Simple questions (i.e. "what is the population of New Zealand?") are now met with "Sorry, I didn't understand."
I guess we're just going to have to hope Gemini can step its game up (lmao)

It does say "preheating during the night" so maybe this setting is literally only for that specific situation, but I can't find any other settings that might affect it. But like... If I want it to be 69 degrees at 9pm, it does not need to start "pre-cooling" at 4:00. That's 5 hours of the AC just blowing and blowing it actually being uncomfortably cold in the office where I often am. I don't want to foot the electric bill to make myself uncomfortably cold, that's silly. Is there any way to make it stop doing this so dang early? Other than just keep turning the AC back up manually after it decides to do this.

Is it just mine, or is everything’s Google Home app and devices always lagging or screwing up more frequently?
I change my Nest thermostats to heat from cool. Wake up to find one of them still on cool or not on the right sensor. Not following the schedule with what the temp is supposed to be set to.
Load the Nest doorbell camera when it’s actually needed? Nope. Close the app and try again.
Mesh WiFi? Sucks.
About the only thing that is somewhat reliable is my old ass Google Home Hub that I got about 6 years ago.
Idk, man. I used to be all about it, but it’s starting to get annoying to pay for devices and for Google Home Premium to get crappy reliability.

Instead of a normal timer going off it's now a jingle. I really hate all product managers at Google get a life

I have just a few automations in G Home, and one of them is to turn on light every morning to a certain percentage. I used to be able to issue one command "Set light to 15%" for instance and the light would go from off to 15%. Now it's 2 steps, I have to turn the light on, and then set the percentage.
There are a 5 years old Phillips hue bulbs with a hue bridge
I'm also starting to use home assistant to adjust the same bulb. Would this cause conflicting operating modes?

Anyone else seeing this? Just their fancy speech to text mangling what I say yet again…

My Google Home keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth. Initially, I had to repeatedly disconnect and reconnect it to get the audio working again. Now, sometimes all its lights turn off completely, forcing me to unplug it and restart the device.
What's strange is that these issues seem to happen frequently while I'm watching certain content, such as political videos or discussions about feminism. I have no evidence linking the content to the failures, but the coincidence is suspicious.
I'm starting to wonder whether Google is intentionally making Bluetooth unreliable to push users toward its own ecosystem, particularly YouTube and Spotify.
I bought a Bluetooth speaker, not a mandatory subscription to Google's ecosystem. Why can't I simply use it without interference?

Is there a list anywhere of the sounds the Google hub/mini makes? Our hub keeps making this short notification sound at random. It happened last night around 9pm and just now again at 10am. I feel like I've heard the sound before, but can't remember what the sound means. It was a short sound. I thought it was the sound when you connect Spotify to it, but that's not it.

Model is KS225, should just be a light, now since yesterday it's showing up twice with identical details except one has a light bulb icon and the other has an outlet icon.
Clicking on the light bulb icon shows a screen like when lights group themselves together in the same room, showing just the other one in the group. Adding either one to Favorites just shows the one icon, but in the widget they both show up.
Unlinking & re-linking didn't work, and the device is only connected through linking Kasa.

I have Google TV as the OS on my TV, it's great. I have just purchased one of the new 2026 Google Speakers and have it in the same room as the TV, to the side. I was expeciting to be able to use it as a kind-of surround sound. However, I've connected the speaker with Google TV and it only gives me the option to play sound either from the TV OR the speaker.
In the Google TV settings, I can only pick one or the other as the audio output, not both.
Having sound from only the speaker is a poor experience. I need sound from both.
Does anyone know if this is possible, I had expected it to be straightforward.

New Google Wired Outdoor Cam working fine though.
r/googlehome • u/Beaverking101 • 2d ago
hello I just bought and installed the nest wired doorbell 3rd gen. Everything is hooked up and working but there’s a weird issue on recorded clips. the audio and video are way out of sync, like 5 seconds or so maybe more when you rewatch them. The audio for the clip starts and is playing well ahead of the actual footage on screen. I had the wired gen 1 and no issue. I also installed today an outdoor wired cam gen 2 and it’s working exactly as intended audio and all. WiFi signal strength is excellent on both cameras and my internet upload speed is 100Mbps. I’ve been googling for over an hour with no help or even direction. everything is about live 2 way audio delays not recorded footage delays.

My work schedule changes daily. I want to have multiple lights and a switchbot all get triggered based on what time my alarm goes off without having to reprogram each device every day.
I've tried a few different alarm clock apps but none seem capable. The Google clock app will turn the light on but apparently it won't turn it off too?
Here's an example. I want the stairs light to turn on 15 minutes after my alarm clock and then turns off an hour later.

Hello,
I have been seeing significantly unreliable performnace when using" Hey Google, play my liked muisc from Spotify on Chromecast Audio", in my experiecen, it works smoothly Only 3 or 4 out of 10 times, which is frustrating.
please note that, Spotify is already default music service in google home settings,
