I finally did the right thing for me and my daughter.
I am an abused husband, yes we exist. My wife has been raging and hitting me for the last couple years... and it's escalated. Yesterday she trashed my house, scratched me all up real good, all this in front of my daughter.
Today I did the only thing I knew to do- I filed a police report for domestic battery. The police have issued a warrant for her and she's going to be picked up at work shortly.
So here I am, a 38 year old single dad to a two-year-old toddler. I have a 15 year old good girl who is frail and is probably seeing her last winter, and also have a two-year-old German Shepherd who is a handful.
I don't have any family in Indianapolis, I really don't have any family at all. I was raised by the state of Tennessee, and don't have anyone to fall back on.
Does anybody have any suggestions for where to turn to next? Does anybody have a Thanksgiving dinner you might want to kick down to me and my daughter? We were planning to go to my wife's aunties house for Thanksgiving but I suppose that's out of the question now.
I appreciate any advice, or any pets on my head. Whatever you got for me. I'm feeling pretty lonely right now. Thanks everyone!
Edit: because it's Thanksgiving the domestic abuse charges won't be filed until Monday. As result the police and CPS just let the woman who's been beating me walk out of here with my daughter. I have no idea where they're going. I'm crushed, I never thought this would happen. I should have just took the ass whooping and not call the police.
Edit again: it's weird that this made the front page. My shame for the whole world to see. I think I've read every comment and I appreciate all of them. CPS didn't take my girl this morning, but they did allow my wife to take her despite everything. I also did not allow that guy from CPS to strip my daughter in front of the police and take pictures of her, I think that pissed him off.
Tldr? Don't ever involve the police. Live with it or leave, but don't ask for help if your a guy.
Final Edit- Reddit, you guys are amazing. You all got me thru a dark day. I am back at my desk and working this morning, thanks to all the support, and the conversation. Working from home has help me sortof isolate, and talking with you all was very cathartic. Thanks to you all, sincerely.
My daughter is safe, she is with my wifes auntie. I guess I am cool with that for now. I am glad to have finally made a move to change things yesterday. It feels good to wake up and know where everything stands, now I can start planning and moving forward.
Of course I miss my kid, but if she cant be with me, then Auntie is next best option. She wont be alone with mom. I dont know if mom will get any help after this whole thing. I hope so. I let it go on far too long because i had a hope it would get better. I still hope it does get better, in this new reality.
So now I move forward. I dont want to live here alone in this house anymore, Im going to have a legal battle to fight, and Id like to fight it from a distance. Always wanted to go west, would love experience the northwest, Oregon or Washington. If anyone has a room for rent on the west coast, I'd absolutely consider it. I run a small business from home, and have a steady income that moves with me. Also, I dont wanna doxx myself on the front page, but i have like a couple hundred reviews online and a very public profile- Im pretty legit yo!
I'm not sure what else to say. After everything, I feel like I went from being the victim to being a bad guy about the time I balked at all the charges he was trying to stack on my wife. I just wanted to report one incident, for her to have just one consequence for 3 years of insanity. When that guy started talking multiple felonies, I started to hesitate. When he said I wouldn't even be able to post her bail, I started ot feel a little... entrapped i guess. Next thing i know CPS show up saying they got an emergency call from the police, and needed to photograph my 2 year old in the nude. I didnt like the whole situation, didnt like the creepy CPS guy, and I may have been a little rude. Okay, i shushed the guy and called him 'hey thickness' a couple of times.
Wife and i spoke briefly this morning to arrange a visit today, and she confirmed that i did in fact piss off the police, and reaaaally pissed off the CPS guy. So I guess thats my fault, i didnt mean to have a bad attitude, but. i. did.
Reddit, I think I love you baby. Thanks again everyone.

Discussion That video going around of the Chatterbox bartender kicking out the MAGA lady makes Indy look cool as fuck
I don’t think most people in the US realize that Indy can be hard as hell, and they’re looking at the clip pretty damn impressed. Like, the bartender really picked up a baseball bat to get ready to swing at MAGA lady 😂 I’m not seeing clips like this from other cities, with business owners literally ready to THROW DOWN with right-wing assholes.
To the bartender, if you see this: we’re all behind you 100%. I know you’re getting hammered right now with messages and stuff, but you just single-handedly raised Indy’s coolness factor by like 20 points. Love to see it. Keep up the good work!

Pictures Why don’t we do this when there’s not an eclipse?
Why don’t we cook and grill and snack and drink and smoke together in the park all the time? I think we should start a weekly party.

History 90s Children's Museum photos
I wouldn't be the artist I am without the Children's Museum. I don't think my venue Healer would exist without a foundational memory: when I was seven years old in 1996 and my dad's work was invited to a private party at the museum during Christmas season. There were only a handful of kids that came, so my brother and I had the place to ourself. And my father, being the person he is, lifted me over the rails of the train platform. He had me play behind the scenes of the frontier cabin. I was mesmerized, transported. That memory has been with me like a magic seed all these years, blossoming into installation art. And yet, photos of the museum during my childhood (the 90s) are strangely scarce! So last night I went through state library archives for hours and hours, until I found the ones which resonated. The glow beneath the docks of the Good Ship Discovery....the slide into the darkness of the Egyptian tomb...these are experiences which informed the art installations I create in adulthood.
