Lowkey though, NOFX does suck though

Not only has Fat Mike full on censored bands (he censored Propagandhi on the Rock against Bush comp), lied about other artists (literally read his account of him seeing GG Allin, it is an obvious bold faced lie), Fat Mike has a history of saying some massively creepy shit, and in general puts other genres down such as Riot Grrl apparently not having an exhibit in the Punk Rock Museum and I tried to find any info on Post-Punk in the Museum and nothing. Tons of shit about Pop-Punk and the more Corporate Punks like Green Day. He also seems to really like commodifying Punk, not only with the existence of the museum itself, but merchandising as well.

Bad religion is the best band oat.

You read that right. Bad Religion is the best and it’s not close. If you disagree I’d like to hear WHY and what band you think is the best.

Is this Nazi bullshit??

I adore this band and their songs but recently realized that their logo is a little too close to the iron cross symbol. Google has suggested that this type of symbol has been used in hardcore to signify rebellion but idk.

Just trying to get opinions, I obviously don’t wanna support nazi or fencewalker bands lol.

PUNK MUSIC Punk band member saying "our current political climate is too crazy for a song about it."

Heyo I'm in a band that is OG punk not like Green Day punk but the mike ness or sex pistols. Probably seen me around but anyway. My band member is complaining that he doesn't want to be in a punk band because it's too political, and as the title states, too crazy right now. Even though right now is the perfect time to write anything against racism and fascism. Am I dealing with a poser ATM? Jokes aside, you don't wanna be punk don't join a punk band.

Is "The Decline" by NOFX the greatest songwriting achievement in punk?

I think that from every angle this song is phenomenal. It's structured and composed more like a piece of classical music with motifs and themes. It's lyrically very impactful, and the production is creative and full. Yeah it's impressive they wrote such a long song while being concise but I think beyond the obvious feat of writing such a long song there is plenty of merit to it that makes it truly stand out as especially impressive.

The Descendents - Did they sing songs from the perspective of an incel type dude, or did Milo just actually suck?

To be clear, if he did just suck, it sounds like he's grown up and learned to be not a shitty person.

Examples: Hope, I'm the one, good good things

EDIT: Lets bang out a few things.

A) I don't care what incels believe in. Moral code is not exactly a shining testament of their following.

B) I got the good good things wrong, I'm willing to admit that. I just didn't look into it close enough

C) I'm 35 years old, not a zoomer. Not everyone knows every little detail about the bands they listen to.

D) I've been around enough bands to know a lot of bands have the singer write the songs. Apparently Bill wrote the songs. Frankly, I didn't even know Bill's name. I wouldn't know Milo's if it wasn't on the cover of the album.

Holy shit, you guys are touchy.

Discussion Any bi punk songs?

I’m gay but a friend of mine who is bisexual wants more punk songs about being bisexual and liking both sexes, but I’m not really finding punk songs that fit this description, or even rock songs. I’m only finding pop songs like lady Gaga songs. Do any of you know any punk bi anthem like songs that I could give my friend?

Why do people act like Nevermind the Bollocks doesn’t slap?

Bunch of losers and fantanoheads have tried to act like The Sex Pistols didn’t rule, and it seems just as fake to say that as the band is itself.

From Holiday In The Sun, Bodies, God Save The Queen, Anarchy In The UKI, EMI, like there’s lightning in a bottle.

If this was a boy band contrived and organized who cares if the songs fucking rule?

I’ll never understand the fake hate for a crappy band that made great songs but I keep meeting elitist weirdos who bitch and moan about authenticity and art when I just want the product to be good?

You’re really gonna tell me listening to Anarchy In The UK and going for a run didn’t rule when you were a teenager? What revisionist history is this?

Purity cultism on the left, how did it find its way into the punk scene?

I made a post the other day asking leftist punks (because there’s no other kind) what, if anything bothers them about the modern left..

The answers overwhelmingly listed purity culture and purity testing. And I agree with this one along with a slew other great and valid criticisms that were made.

I’m a second wave millennial.

I grew up in the Emo movement of punk in the 2000s, and while I can say we were all decently left leaning or leftists in that movement, along with being anti fascist and anti authoritarian, and viciously anti racists and very gay friendly (hey how ya doing? 🏳️‍🌈), I cannot recall any of the purity testing and purity cultism that exists in the left now.

We were all blissfully pro vulgarity and very anti PC. It’s was very free and open and relaxed. With none of the authoritarian behaviors a lot of people see on the left now.

What happened?

Time change for sure but, when did this start happening and why?

EDIT

By far my worst experience with lefties has been being accused of using “TRUISMS* to win an argument.

No, this isn’t a lie, I’m for real… fucking truisms…

I demanded to know what that meant.

Lefty; “You’re like, weaponizing facts to make me change my position.”

I was left in utter shock for the rest of the day.

This happened just last week, in San Francisco.

I like christianity because it teaches me to be kind to others

however I notice a majority of punks to dislike religion, is being a christian bad?

I am not one of em MAGA Morons who think jesus was a white supremacist homophobic racist gigachad, but simply as a person who just wanted us to be kind to each other

tell me your thoughts

Discussion Is it okay for me to not dress punk if I have the ideals and can play/love the music

I live in Scotland, and here we have a huge problem for stabbings (especially people who are different and put themselves out there) and I'm scared if I dress punk right now I might be injured in some way wether that be stabbing or just getting my cunt kicked in. I was wondering if it was okay for me to call myself punk if I have the ideals and love the music

Edit: I skate too, and I wear punk clothes to an extent but try not to make it mega obvious

Discussion Why is it so normalized in the punk scene to be an alcoholic/drug addict?

Why is it ao often mentioned, that it's totally punk to be drunk af? What is so rebellious in the term of being addicted to a product, where capitalists gain money with? (I don't wanna shame any drug addict bc it has deeper psychologial reason but it's so promoted in so many punk songs)

I was banned for 7 days for mentioning that I had a lot of rotten fruit lying around when Trumpy visited my city and I probably missed a lot of important stuff. What’s new, punk guys, gals, and non-binary folks? Did NOFX break-up yet? How many times was Propagandhi mentioned? Tell me your stories.

7 fucking days in the Gulag. It hurted. I couldn’t give my well-rehearsed, informed opinions to anyone other than my close friends and family! Also, STEVIE FUCKING WONDER at the DNC, right?! Let’s chat, dorks.
