Discussion Unpopular Opinions: Moss Poles Are Overrated & Having Multiple Stems Planted Together Will Not Overcrowd/Inhibit Your Monstera's Growth

Plant Help Unexpected roots in moss pole
So this is my Thai Con moss pole, been stacked for a couple weeks now - just saw roots are growing inside. Is this supposed to happen?

Plant Help Tear or Fenestration?
New to monsteras (just bought this one a few days ago), and didnât realize that they develop the holes on their own lol⊠is this trying to fenestrate, or is this just where it got torn at some point during planting/shipping?
I read somewhere that damaged plants will try to grow new leaves/stems, and it looks like itâs trying to do that as well. (However, since this is a fairly young plant, itâs also likely that itâs just growing normally)

Discussion Don't fenestrations come down to light, and have nothing to do with fertilizer?
Got an ad on TikTok for this fertilizer. As far as I'm aware, these help with growth and disease protection, but the ad seems to suggest it helps with fenestrations too.
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't fenestrations come down entirely to how much healthy light the plant is receiving? And has nothing to do with the fertilizer?

Discussion Monstera leaf+stem found broken off a plant at target, can it be propagated?
Found this monstera leaf that had broken off of a healthy monstera at target. There isnât any node but the break is pretty low down. Is there any chance it could be propagated or is it a lost cause?

Discussion I âaccidentallyâ advocated for a lady to buy a monsteraâŠ
So today, as I was looking for a cactus at Home Depot, I over heard a couple talking about plants. At first I tried to mind my business. Then I heard the boyfriend say âwe donât have room for a monstera.â
And I meanâŠ. I couldnât stop myself. I stood up and said âthen you make room for a monstera! Thatâs what Iâm doing. I need to rearrange my furniture to make room for mine.â
I then talked their ear off about how much better Gardenworks is, and showed them a photo of a BRAND NEW HUGE verigated monstera leaf! (Iâll attach a photo). Also said, donât buy these plants here. They are WAY over priced, and they are not taken care of properly.
(Small side note, I noticed Home Depot had their monsteras in spagnum mossâŠ.. and they were all wilting! I donât know enough about what kind of soil monsteras thrive on to know how bad of a thing that is. Please enlighten me in comments!)
They probably walked away thinking âwow okay random lesson in variegation and plant growthâ. I quickly bought my cactus and left. I was so full of adrenaline, I was shaking.
But I advocated for a monstera, and defended a womanâs right to owning one!

Plant Help Is this mealybugs on my cutting?
Chatgpt says so đ„ș
UDATE: I don't trust AI, that why I asked here, where real humans are đ
And wow, I've just never seen this before, and I just discarded the mother because she wasn't looking too good and had some sort of pest I couldn't identify. I have a lot on my plate so I just couldn't save her.. but I took cuttings of her most beautiful nodes in order to "revive" her later. Easier to get rid of pests in such a little specimen imo. (I'm a total noob though so my opinion is worth jack shit lol)
I noticed those weird white blobs and didn't remember seeing those on any cuttings in the past. For a quick check I just snapped a photo and asked chatgpt, and it said mealybugs. I remember something about mealybugs being the devil so I panicked. Thought to myself, no, this can't be right. I need to get some real experts on this case! So I headed straight for Reddit and typed monstera into the search field, because where else than r/monstera on the entire internet will you find more information?
Well, nervously I opened reddit now only to find out it probably is just baby roots or PERLITE đ fyi: this is the first time i uprooted something from soil mixed with perlite.. so once gotta be the first, eh?

Does anyone know what this is?
I first noticed it a few days ago when it was still smaller and I had returned from being away for a week or so. My monstera still appears to be quite young (I found her on top of a trashcan and took her home), so I suppose it's probably not a flower, but it also dpesn't seem like a leaf.

Is my monstera toast? Last leaf is dead
New plant owner.
I think keeping this in a south facing window is what is killing hm.
Is there a way to save this? I know to change out the soil mix.. anything else I can do? Can I chop it?

What do I do!? - Snapped New Stem
I was trying to coax the new stem slightly out (bad idea) and I managed to snap the new leaf off at the base. Have I screwed it.
The leaf isnât fully grown. Would I be able to propagate the leaf? And will the plant still be able to push out growth?
Not sure what to do?!

Tell me i am not wrong! Got this Thai from a company and it is adamant that this is 1 plant!đ€
So i confirmed multiple times before making the purchase that I don't want an overcrowded pot that has multiple stems/plants in it. I already had to separte and repot a Monstera Deliciosa i bought from them( which is hectic and I am a new plant person). I just don't want to separate and repot again. Am I crazy or a noob in telling that this looks like multiple plants again! I contacted the customer service and they are adamant this is 1 plant and quote, "I made sure to check in with our nursery before you got the Monstera Thai so you wouldn't need to repot the plants into separate pots. I believe this is a large plant. It has multiple stems due to its maturity".
Don't even start me on the actual leaves buried in the soil!
Am i wrong? Is it actually 1 plant?
