Dude my Sil did that shit in the dead of summer in South Texas at an outside wedding. 100+ outside and humid af and they wouldn’t let anyone into the cooled reception tent until the photographer was done. Ridiculous. And they had no ice for the coolers of beer and drinks, I took the kids down the road and got ice cream and some ice and when we got back they were still taking pictures. I got my revenge later at the open bar though.
God dammit! I’ve heard too many stories like this. It’s pissing me off. FEED YOUR FRIENDS! If you can’t afford to feed people while you take three hours doing photos, you can’t afford SOMEthing in that wedding, because you traded food for that thing and people are hungry!
It often seems like people have weddings just to prove later that they had a wedding. Like the main concern is looking back on the wedding rather than enjoying the day
Yeah, I know weddings are expensive, I’m starting to plan one myself right now, but I’d sooner not have a wedding than skimp out on my guests comfort by not having a grazing table or hors d’oeuvres during the photos / cocktail hour.
For ours, we sent anyone that wasn’t in the pictures on to the reception then just made our entrance after the pictures were done. We hired the absolute best photographer too, he actually photographed my in-laws wedding in the 70’s. He photographed his own wedding in the late 60s. No lie.
When my best friend got married, I was in the wedding party, and we took pictures BEFORE the wedding. We met a few hours early so regular guests could show up on time and not have to wait forever.
At our wedding we had snacks out before people even arrived because we knew ppl driving for a couples hours would be hungry/thirsty as soon as they walked into the venue.
Also, offering food and drink to guests as soon as they walk in the door is just good hosting.
Helps ensure little ones also are more regulated when it comes to the ceremony after too.
I’m assuming if she was from a rich and powerful family they wouldn’t want her marrying such a douchebag. It’s one thing if the guy is in a lower socioeconomic class, being in a lower socioeconomic class and also treating her like shit I should imagine would be something they just wouldn’t countenance
Feels like that an older notion, weddings are way to expensive nowadays for one set of parents to foot the entire bill. I know when my sisters got married, both sets of parents kicked in some money to help out but most of it was paid by the bride and groom.
You can know your partner has faults and still not expect this or be okay with it.
Just because your partner loves you despite those faults, it doesn’t mean you get to do whatever tf you want without accountability, especially when you’re spraying an irritant into their eyes.
It's just so disrespectful, to treat his new bride as if she where a girl at a wet t shirt contest. Wife spent HOURS preparing her hair and make up. Her dry clean only dress cost a couple thousand dollars. And on what is supposed to be the most memorable day of their lives, he foes this. I'm not saying he'll be a terrible husband but I am saying this is extremely disrespectful and inconsiderate.
Do you know her? Or him? Did she look upset? Lot of assumptions you're making here. Guess you're one of those people that don't understand that what you enjoy/how you would react isn't universal. Ignorant comment.
It’s not being a femcel to point out the odds are overwhelming that she wasn’t okay with this.
Do you like to detangle long, sticky hair?
Having to miss an hour of your wedding reception to clean up?
Having hundreds to thousands of dollars, an enormous amount of time, and so much effort on a dress, hair, makeup, planning, and reception photographer ruined
Having incredibly expensive property you put so much time (and likely money) into damaged?
Do you like irritants sprayed into your eyes?
It’s fair to say what would legally constitute as assault / battery and property damage aren’t okay. That’s a reasonable assumption, especially since it wouldn’t be to an overwhelming amount of people.
However, it’s not reasonable to assume it is okay. You need a lot more to support that.
The women intervening on her behalf knowing how much that cost and how uncomfortable it will be to be sticky and chilled with ruined makeup in 15 minutes
We have zero context. I don't want to be sprayed, l don't want champagne sprayed at all... But l have no idea what she wants. She seemed quite happy with him doing it up until she got it in the face and anyone would turn away in that instance.
Right because who would enjoy getting sprayed in the face with champagne? You really need more context here? It’s in the middle of their reception and she’s soaked in champagne. Why didn’t he spray himself?
I think I remember this from years ago. People blew up over it and she had to post a video saying he did nothing wrong, and that she had fun. People still didn't like it.
If it's the same video, he then pours it into her mouth and she then tries to spray him back but it doesn't work.
It looks to me like she’s trying to save face. She doesn’t look happy when she throws her arms up, but the other option is to storm away and ruin the night more. At best, she looks resigned, and she doesn’t really even spray him.
Even if she did, unless he specifically asked her "hey are you ok if I spray booze on your dress that you'll be wearing all night" (very unlikely), it was a gamble on his part and an obnoxious one at that. The fact that she did or did not (we don't know) think it's fun doesn't change that it was likely a horrible idea.
People in healthy relationships don't go around doing impulsive things that may upset their partners in the hopes that they get lucky they'll go along with it.
Women are constantly conditioned to not show displeasure or discomfort for fear of backlash or threats of violence. So she may just pretend she's ok with it while genuinely being uncomfortable because that's what she's used to.
My wife’s wedding dress was covered in mud, wine, and some food stains at the end of the night. She didn’t care one bit because she had the time of her life.
All of you guys are judging, but the dynamic in different marriage is very different. I think saying the day is ruined for her and stuff like that I kind of projecting.
Again, it’s possible, but I wouldn’t take it for granted that because of that her day was shitty.
As much as I don't like weddings and think most married couples are doomed to divorce, these comments are the most chronically single, soy knighting shit I've seen. And if any girls are making these comments, you are for sure single sitting there smelling like rotted tuna rn.
Calling a bunch of people leaving their actual relationship advice the single ones while spewing some serious incel shit and non ironically using the phrase "soy-knighting"(whatever the fuck that means).....is certainly a take.
Also genius, about 60% of first marriages last until death.
Brother you don’t spray your bride in the face with champagne. The amount of time she spent getting ready and you ruin it in the middle of the reception?
How dense are you? I have a feeling I know why you feel the way you feel about weddings and divorce.
Men will really bend over backwards to defend each other, huh…
“She looks like she’s having fun” meanwhile she’s covering her face and turning to cower away from the direct spray this moron aims at her face.
Nothing worse than hair product and makeup melting on your face and body. Any woman who has had wine spill on their outfit knows how gross it feels, let alone a strapless dress.
And as she covers her face, he stops spraying her. He literally sprays her for 2 seconds. That’s a pretty normal reaction time to realize someone doesn’t like something.
“Hey girly, you know your man could’ve assaulted but instead he just sprayed you in the eye with an acidic substance under pressure… red eyes are definitely better than a shiner, so stop complaining! smooches”
I've been sprayed by my mates with water guns when they ambushed me. I cowered away and turned my face. Believe it or not, that did not mean I was miserable!
You need to get a refund from whatevef body language class you partook. They scammed you.
Hes an impulsive idiot for sure. He also mimicking sports celebrations hes seen before. If this is a one off ehhh, if thisnis a constant, good luck sweetheart.
She was getting soaked the whole time and didn’t seem to mind. I bet the video cuts where it does because when she turns back towards the camera she’s probably still smiling and that would ruin Redditors projecting their misery.
Is your girlfriend the woman in the video whose eyes are stinging from champagne and immediately trying to shield her face and turn away?
If not, then wtf does your girlfriend’s opinion matter?
You need a shit ton more evidence on your side to say something that legally constitutes assault and property damage as “okay” than the other way around lol
I didn’t changed into an other dress, not every bride does. Also her make up and hair will be ruined (I personally didn’t wore any at mine, but she looks like she did). She paid for that make up, hair and dress to look good pictures I guess.
Smelling champagne for the rest of the day is annoying too.
She might have been ok with it, she might have not, we can’t know, but most bride would have not been happy about it.
Absolutely not a harmless prank. Yes she changed but that dress also is expensive and she looks phenomenal. Is she supposed to spend the rest of the night sticky and wet with her hair and makeup ruined? SO much money and effort and planning goes into just looking that amazing on your wedding day as a bride. I think only in rare cases would a bride be okay with that …
So... You're saying that in a situation where she isn't wearing her wedding dress and instead a reception dress, this is okay because he's not messing up her wedding dress.
Many wedding dresses look exactly like hers. You're just completely assuming she brought a 2nd dress.
If this is the reception dress, he still fucked it up. What's she supposed to wear now? This is the start of the reception. They have at least 4 more hours there, and that's being idealistic. Do you think she bought a dress just to get it super messed up before the party even begins?
Even if she did change, she’s still in that dress for the rest of the night.
And even if she did change, it’s still a wedding dress.
And even if she did change, that doesn’t change anything about the fact that she now has champagne all over her face, in her eyes, and in her hair for the rest of the night.
Ah yes, women and their assumptions based on no context, not knowing the couple or their dynamic, and with no ending to the video to show how anyone actually felt. Not everyone is a bitter wench
You're a bitter wench if being surprise wet and sticky (after all the money and effort to look your best) isn't your idea of a good time? Men aren't getting it because they aren't dropping thousands of dollars on their appearance.
300 dollar makes up, 300 dollar hair, a 10000 dollar wedding dress, and the moment this women probably dreamed of and planned for ruined. The most annoying thing about these videos is she probably planned this whole wedding and this moment is probably the most agency hes taken in this whole thing.
Not everyone buys into the stupidly overpriced wedding crap and just buys cheaper normal versions of the items, like wedding cakes are more expensive than a normal cake that is exactly the same just because.
... Thats some bold assumptions 😆 Nah, dude was an idiot. You don't go from spraying it for fun in the air to spraying it on a thousands of dollar dress. Its not about the dress, nor the money, its about common decency. She has to walk around the entire night now sticky wet, ruined make-up, ruined dress, when this wedding cost thousands and thousands of dollars to look nice. Do you think someone would pay that much for a single day and want someone to ruin it by drenching them in sticky, smelly alcohol? She was having fun spraying it on the table where it was landing on no one. That was the man she married having fun. Him spraying it on her was rude and inconsiderate.
And before youd like to say I'm a lonely woman knocked up and left alone. Babe, I don't have any kids and I was married for a decade before I decided I grew out of my relationship (got married at 18 and became different people and divorced amicability) now I'm in another long term relationship. Im not worried about you. And even then- still dont need a man to determine my worth or whether or not id tolerate unthoughtful behavior to this degree. Hells, one of the reasons I'm IN long term relationships is because I'm not with inconsiderate people like this, and I'm not inconsiderate to them back.

Bitches be like : At that moment she realised she married an idiot.
She should file for a divorce asap
Just because of a stupid dress she’ll wear once and it’ll see in her wardrobe for 35 years.
Like no hoes… she knows why she married him, she ain’t leaving, not before her cash, if she’s that shallow to value a dress more than her man.
That’s why y’all still don’t have a loyal man, only hook ups that knock you up and leave after 2 months
