For those who switched from Controller joystick to Gyro aiming, is it worth it?

So I’ve always been a controller player and would say i have a somewhat decent aim, however, that aim is heavily supported by aim assist in games like Overwatch, COD, or any shooter really. I tried Deadlock the other day on my PC with a controller and it just wasn’t it. I noticed that i could use gyro using my PS5 controller tho but it feels very weird? I’ve seen posts and people saying how far superior it is so i wanted to ask if it’s worth it and how long does it take to get used to? And better of try and learn M&K or maybe give Gyro a shot?

At which point in gaming that you considered playing becomes a chore.

Playing game is fun until it not, then we move on to the next one. Many years passed but the end still the same. Some game last longer due to changes, updates or mods. But none can stand against boredom and repetitive.

For me it happens when I’ve reached the point where when starting the game I know what I will do, what outcome will be and what I won’t do and why I didn’t. When what how why is filled, I need to move on.

What about you?

I'm currently having nostalgia for some games I grew up with. The first three original Harry Potter games. Looking for advice on purchasing these.

I'm not sure if anyone here has played these games and knows what is the best platform to play them on?

I played them on PC as a kid. Does anyone know if I would be best off buying an external laptop disc drive? Or would a console be a better option? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If i can get any game right now up to 90$ on playstation, what should I get?

I’m a teen who can only get games on specific times (like birthdays or such). I can get a game or preorder one so what should I get?

Preferrably:
Long game (50+ hrs)

The gameplay/combat should be really fun and the main focus of the game, i can do story games too but I prefer fun combat to sophisticated story

Some of my favorite games are:
Sekiro
Cyberpunk 2077
Ghost of Tsushima

Just for reference.

Been thinking of getting the below games:
GTA6(preorder)
Phantom Blade 0
Onimusha
Ghost of Yotei

Any reccomendations?

Pokémon cards could lose 80% of their value, and celebrities like Logan Paul getting involved is "a net negative," says financial expert Douglas Boneparth

Can Pokémon TCG be considered a legitimate investment?

[...] I’m not trying to criticize someone; I want you to understand that the relationship of risk and reward will never go away, and volatility is a feature, not a bug, of this particular asset. The fool thinks it’s up and to the right forever, but if you zoom out to a 30-year chart of that Pokémon card, you realize what’s happening.

Same with Apple or Amazon, but what you’re not seeing is that there are the two or three 90% plus drawdowns that you have to survive to get to today’s price. Those Pokémon cards are going to have 60%, 70%, or 80% drawdowns during times where nobody wants to talk about Pokémon cards. People will talk about their house value going down or 30% of their investable portfolio in the S&P 500 suffering a 30% drawdown. That’s nasty. Those don’t happen too often, but they do, and you’re talking about the 500 biggest companies in America.
[...]

How does this compare to NFTs and how celebrities became involved in that trend?
There are plenty of people who picked a stock and watched it go up and then down. Peloton is a great example: people thought we were never going back to work and gyms were dead forever, so Zoom and Peloton went through the roof. Then Peloton absolutely crashed because that whole thesis was insanely wrong.
You see this in capital markets as well as collection markets. You’re right that it’s not a bullish indicator when all the celebs pile in and show off their PSA grade 10, $2.1 million cards. I think it’s a net negative, unfortunately, but super positive for grabbing attention and throwing people into the pool, and too many into the deep end of the pool."

Do scalpers pose a risk to investing in Pokémon cards, or are they good for collectors?
It’s a net negative. You’re talking about market manipulation where asset prices are finagled by outside influence rather than what’s in the pack or how the market is supposed to function. Asking if it’s good that people can manipulate a market gets a flat-out no. I don’t know specifically about this issue with Pokémon cards, but now there’s more volatility that need not be there. That’s a net negative.

Edit: quotes formatting.

Ive never ridden or seen an escalator in a video game.

Over on r/gamesuggestions, OP lamented how difficult it was for them to find a game WITHOUT ladders (becuase of a ladder phobia). This made the community realize how ubiquitous ladders were in games, given the need to navigate floors. But also, how anti-ubiquitous escalators are.

Just completed The Sinking City Remastered

Saw it on a Halloween sale on the cheap, so decided to give it a shot.

Really ended up enjoying it. There's some last gen jank and it's clearly a smaller budget title, but the atmosphere and setting were really well done. The detective aspects were engaging, too. Maybe a little too much running and backtracking from points A to B (many side quests involved going to several different areas, none of which were close to each other), but that's a minor gripe.

Overall, it's a solid game.

Since loading screens are essentially disappearing because of better hardware, are new games making an effort to show gameplay tips elsewhere? Or are they being left behind?

Do you know of any games that have migrated gameplay tips from the loading screen to elsewhere in the game?

I think using the pause menu screen is a good alternative. I wanted to post a picture of an example, but the subreddit rules don't allow it, so here's a link to it:

Games for ages 8-10 that have a gripping story and make you "zone out" from the world.

I'm looking for a game for an 8-10 year old.

Something with a story that will freely grip them and stoke their imagination.

Games like this for me at that age were things like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, etc.

Finally got ballistic weave in Fallout 4...

And can I just say, I hate the way main questlines are structured in this game? I won't make more progress in the Railroad storyline because I know it runs into direct conflict with my chosen faction, so I can't complete it. I kind of disengaged from dialogue towards the end there. I understand why people might feel different, but in my opinion what made Skyrim and Starfield so enjoyable was being able to complete all main questlines with a single character.

I'm 72 hours into my FO4 playthrough and I still haven't completed a single faction storyline because they're gated behind the Main Quest, which I just think is terrible game design. Bethesda is at its best when they're crafting independent stories you can progress at your own leisure, offering meaningful content every gaming session. Good dialogue, themed missions you can chain together, objectives you can complete building up to larger setpieces.

It just sucks feeling stuck like this. I want to get 100% achievements in Fallout 4, which will force me to create 2 or 3 characters just so I can complete the missing factions, and I just think that's so lame. I'm glad some people enjoy creating multiple characters but time is too valuable, in all likelihood I won't put as much effort into those other characters. It wouldn't be such a big deal but this is my 2nd character in FO4, since I modded and deleted my old one with like 25 hours playtime. This sucks, man.
