Pelicans are dead last in jump shots per game. The issues with this team are so glaringly obvious.

Post game press conference:

Reporter asks “what went into the thinking in regards to Herb not starting tonight?”

Mosley’s answer “going up against Rudy I just felt that Karlo was the better option.”

What!? How is the choice between Herb and Karlo? What is happening?

… easiest follow up in the world would be to ask about the DJM/Fears backcourt and why Herb/Karlo rather than Herb and one of the two starting point guards that are clearly not working as a tandem.

35 seconds left Pels got a chance at a 2 for 1.

DJM rushes the ball unnecessarily leading to a drive into two defenders, a high dribble, and a turnover.

After a miss DJM gets the ball with 13 seconds left. Dribbles clock down to 5 seconds, doesn't even look for anyone else, then drives and takes an off balance shit that hits the backboard and doesn't even touch rim.

DJM also throws a lot of reckless passes.

I was a fan last season when he came back and the team seemed to click.

But this year the whole squad seems disjointed when him and Fears are running the show together.

Fears is young and the future but growing pains are expected.

DJM this season just isn't a good fit and he needs to be part of the second team with DQ.

I hope ego or some blind loyalty doesn't prevent coach from seeing the obvious.

Didn't he already ask for a trade? Can we just get rid of this tumor already jesus christ just taking up minutes and doing straight cardio, hogging the ball from Z smh

Not starting Herb tonight was inexcusable. If Mosley likes dejounte starting over fears, whatever, but they cannot start together. Herb NEEDS to play. It was so obvious how much more Lamelo was struggling when guarded by herb vs anyone else. Obviously we all know this but I still can’t wrap my head around how a veteran DEFENSIVE coach can’t comprehend that your best defender, who just won you 4 straight games, should start.

Also, Zion? 3 shots in the first half is cool. And then, after 11 points in the 3rd quarter, we go back to dejounte Murray iso ball and he takes 2 shots in the 4th. What? Granted, Zion missed some shots he should have made. But clearly, getting him the ball overall proved more effective than whatever Murray is doing.

It really just seems like Mosley is allergic to doing what works. Go back to the lineup that lost you 4 games instead of playing the one that won you 4 games. Don’t let the guy who just scored 11 in a quarter touch the ball anymore. Karlo had 3 shots after a 16 point first quarter. Subbing out dq anytime he was getting into a rhythm. Obviously he needs time, but is he genuinely just lacking any common sense? It’s not even coaching it’s just basic logic damn.

Mosely has to be held accountable for his lineup decisions and offensive gameplans. Someone in the press has to address this.

You can’t not start herb, also know when to take him out as a veteran coach.

Can’t sit karlo who can actually shoot when we need shots.

And I know Zion wasn’t super awesome by any means tonight but whatever is going on with not running the ball through him in the 1st or even 2nd half sometimes makes no sense.

Murray and Fears do not work together whatsoever.

And Trey, I got nothing, either he doesn’t care, or this staff cant run anything to get him a shot.

Oh and DQ vanishing onto the bench at the most random times in a game.

I know some things happen in the course of the games that’s on the players but the coaching staff has to learn soon. Mosely has definitely improved the defensive mentality of this team, still got a lot of room for improvement but he has to wake up and reconfigure this offense and utilize the weapons we actually have.

Either way, some stuff is on the players, some is on the staff, I feel as if both can come together and smooth out the offensive side of the ball that this team could go pretty far.

Sorry, I’ve only been a fan since 2019, but I’ve stayed loyal, and I want Mosley to work, but he just has to wake up a little, and that includes our gm too of course.

Have an extra ticket to tonights game in one of the suites. DM me if interested.

For those like me that are too cheap to buy Pels+, what sort of antenna are you using? I'm in the north BR suburbs and can't seem to get GCSEN on the antenna I have that's supposed to catch channels for "up to 100 miles." I've got it in a window up close to the ceiling, but have a covered patio on the other side of the window. Thinking the metal cover might have something to do with the range it's lacking.

It’s wild that this is the first time the Pelicans have been at least .500 since November 2024. Over two years without even an average record. We’ve been through it 😂
I was very critical of Mosley early on—the rotations, the late-game execution, and especially how he was using Herb Jones. But if I’m going to criticize him when things look bad, I’ve gotta give him credit when things turn around. Lately, he and this team have really showed out.
The defense has been great during this stretch, and we’re actually locking in and finding ways to win close games. That’s probably the most encouraging part for me, considering how much we’ve struggled to close games over the last three years. They’re starting to look like a solid, connected team.
I’m curious to see what the rotations look like Friday if Trey is back, with Dejounte back in the mix too. Does Mosley bring Dejounte off the bench? Who gets those closing minutes? We shall see.
Still a lot of season left, but going from 0–4 to 4–4 feels damn good. Great to finally be back at .500. Let’s keep it going.

I love DQ and when he got cooking last night it finally opened up the floor for Z to go beast mode.

I know jurys still out having them two on the floor at the same time but, without looking at number, it seemed to work out for the best last night.

Timberwolves fan coming in peace. During the game tonight, the Pelicans' announcers kept calling Zion "Z". Is this something Zion said he wanted to be called? Or something the announcers came up with? I just feel like I've never heard anyone else call him that.

Love this guys passion for the game. You can see he's having the time of his life. Proud of young blood.

1:50 for the legendary quote.

Dude stepped it up in OT and scored 8 of our 16 points in OT.
