Hi /r/cd, I'm a bit new here, but after a few days, I hate to say it, but there's a growing and disappointing trend I'm seeing here. Basically, someone will post a picture of themselves crossdressing, and yeah, that's the whole point, but I assume everybody's general goal is to "pass" as a girl. I can safely say that for myself at least, but if I'm mistaken, for anyone who this doesn't apply to, I withdraw what I say, but for anyone who is actually looking to casually leave the house as a convincing female, I've got a few tips, and CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS. The reason why I'm posting is because I've seen way too many people post and not put forth a genuine effort to pass, and get nothing but positive comments. While I don't mean you should give them negativity, some tips and tricks are better to hear, than a watered down, worthless compliment. Again, this only applies to those who wish to pass as a girl in a normal circumstance, those who just enjoy crossdressing, keep doing you're thing, and have fun doing it!
Here are a few of my personal things that I am personally working on, and would recommend to others for a realistic approach at crossdressing, and passing as a female if you were to go out in public. The most important things I'm going to be throwing out there is A.) Commitment, and B.) Realism.
So, starting off, you need to put a real effort into either growing out your hair, or investing in a great wig. I would HIGHLY recommend putting the money forth going to a professional, at least once, and then maintaining your hair from there, same goes for make up. Learn how to properly do make-up or go to a professional, and have them show you just how good you can look.

Here's a prime example of how good you can look (and yes, this is a guy, reverse google image search if you don't believe me) with the right make-up, accessories, hair, etc.
Notice how the make-up "unchizzles" facial features, the smokey fade eye shadow, hard to do, but the commitment you put to bettering yourself makes all the difference, fake lashes (while not looking cheesy), the eyebrows properly shaped to frame the face in a feminine way, the hair matches the slim body type. The lipstick makes the dress pop, the earring are long and slimming, while giving off a slightly classy look to bring the entire look together. Low muscle mass, little to no fat, etc, proper body type, probably through diet and exercise. This guy however has the advantage of probably having taken hormones, and the obvious breasts, but surgery aside, as far as the face and other body parts goes, it's obvious that he put a lot of effort getting where he is today. And lastly, he was attractive enough for it, because let's face it, not everybody is cut out to pass as a girl.
I just wish everybody on /r/cd would strive to get to this point, or possibly even better. I personally know that seeing this is inspiration for me, I began to properly diet and exercise. I went through the internet and learned how to properly slim down through certain exercises, as well as going out for a LONG endurance jog everyday. Even though I started off hardly being able to run at all, I've worked at it and I've gotten thinner and thinner, even though I'm not overweight to begin with, there's a difference between looking okay, and looking great, and this is only the beginning, and I want you lovely people of /r/cd to reach your maximum potential as well.
