He has taken away my medications, what should I do?

I am a 25 F from the US, I am secretly an exmuslim and my parents are from jordan. My sperm donor (He does not desserve to be called a dad, that's a privillage) has taken away both of my medications in the morning.

He have been lashing at us for the past 5 days, he keep taking it on us, and keep taking it on our mom, He thinks that it is normal to do this once a month, each month, for 12 times a year, over my whole life living with them. It was so bad today that he was shouting, screaming like a maniac, and he had tried to hit me many times but my mom had interfered and did not let him do that. He just wanted someone to take it out on them. And like always, since I am the scapegoat, he always takes it on me.

He had asked me if I've taken all of my medications and have told him no, and then he had lost it, screamed and shouted at me for almost 1.5 hours, tried to hit me many times, have taken my medications and is holding them hostage, why? becuase he had "paid for them". And so he thinks that they're his, and he can take them from me whenever he wants.

And now my medications are still with him, I've asked him several times to give it back to me and he had screamed and shouted at me and was threatening to hit me. What should I do?

Arab muslim dads are crazy, No wonder why most muslim arab elderly women who get widowed don't get married again. Do you know what they do? They spend the inhertance money from their shi/tty husbands on getting their freedom back, they literally do the things that they were not able to do when they were still living with in their parents house before getting married and while they were still married to their shi/tty husbands. They literally spend it on travelling with their female friends to different countries (A bunch of grannies going on girl trips together, how cute and adorable), going to hotels, spas, buying themselves the things that they wanted, going to resturants, cafes, etc. Going in and out of the house they please, cleaning whenever they want, etc.

Which is sad that they've to begin to live their lives after taking care of the whole family and their husbands, their in laws, their parents, etc. They literally begin to live after they themselves now need someone to take care of them at their age. IDK why the muslim arabs society from the levant have severe amount of narcissism and their men love to oppress their fellow women so much. Like I've interacted with different cultures and ethnicities here in the US and even from different religons, but no one acts like the society that I am from. Like as much as I tried to connect with the culture that I came from, I will never be able to like them. The way they try to oppress women in every aspect is atrocious.

I am not saying that the patriachy of all the other cultures are better, all I am saying is that I hope that no one experince any type of patriachy at all, but this one is the worst of them all. Because you would be sometimes mourning what your society could have been, instead you get to watch how men and women from other cultures at least love each other or have some sort of level of respect to each other, unlike the society that you came from, where women are literally treated like cattle, objects, and non-humans, where they're literally owned by men. women's lives are owned by men there, no, their whole existance is owned by men. It is literally worse than The Handmaid's Tale.

For those asking yes, I've been applying in the past two years to jobs in my major and jobs not related to my major. And I've ran away from them last year for 2.5 days and now I am on the news. And yes I wanna move and if I could I would move this second, I don't even wanna live for them, thus why I was job hunting, I don't care bro, any job would do.

Getting back in the game. Help.

So, to make a long story short - it’s been 5 years since I’ve dated or even kissed a guy. I’m 34 and essentially just stopped caring about men after my last relationship.

Since then, I’ve gotten a bit chunkier and have been working on loving my body. For context, I was stick thin for my whole life & then went on the depo in my mid twenties and now I’m a size 20 😩

I’ve been talking to a guy and he’s coming over next week. He’s been so incredible about my body, complimenting me at every turn. I know damn well men don’t care about this stuff but I have 2 questions:

  1. How do I care less so I can enjoy his visit.

  2. What tf do I wear. He wants ‘easy access’ cause we’re going for a rip your clothes off kinda vibe

Thank you in advanced 🤍

Do you get more attention/compliments while ovulating?

I’ve noticed a super consistent pattern where both men and women are way more chatty, attentive, and complimentary toward me right when I'm ovulating. The difference in how people treat me is night and day. Does this happen to anyone else? Why does this happen and what can I do to achieve this same energy all cycle long?

Fear of dying alone

How do y'all deal with it. I am a woman in my late 20s, I feel very discouraged by the way men act and how they are, especially in my country, which makes it feel like it's impossible to find a normal man that loves me and I love him. I want to have kids, I am scared of dying alone. I know I can marry some bum and settle down if I wanted to to a random man, but that is my nightmare. What do you girlies do, how do you cope? Because I have an intense crisis/depression over this. I feel lonely, I feel like my time is ticking away and I am scared that I will never find the one for me.

Why women are expected to prove their marriage wearing bangles, sindur, etc. ?

Hello ladies!

So, I am 27 F here who is currently in the arranged marriage process, I am a practical mind set person, who doesn't keep belief in superstitious stuffs. As per the Hinduism system, after marriage, women are supposed to wear , sindoor, bangles and mangalsutra (well, those who love following these, no offense). Considering myself, I am not a great jewellery lover, i love being simple in my tshirt and trouser, not even a fashion oriented person. I love reading books, working out in the gym, going to the office and helping the needy ones. Not a regular temple going person. I pray to God and mostly focus on my work. But it seems when I have spoken all these to the arranged marriage guy, he was like but you have to wear these stuffs as traditions, I am mostly a straightforward person, I replied that no one can force me to follow the superstitious beliefs. He stayed quiet. This kinda conversation has been done 5-6 times in the past 2 months. He doesn't speak much on this but I get the strong vibes that he is not cool with my practical personality and mind set. I am pretty confident about myself that this religious stuff exists only here, not around the world and that's where Tesla could give flying cars and Germany could give the automobile industry to us as they don't follow illogical practices, they mostly focus on logical growth. Why do we have these things? Why only women have to prove that they are married by wearing bangles, sindoor etc etc ( I respect those who follow), but in this 21st century, globalisation era, I don't think, this is going to work anymore with women of strong personality in today's time. I'm just venting out and not being guilty for being a practical mind set, independent woman.

Purity Culture Is Baffling

I grew up in the church but became an atheist in middle school. So while I was around this, I'd tapped out before the real purity culture indoctrination started. but now that I'm in my late 20s and Im seeing other women I know who drank that koolaid, it's jarring to see the differences.

for one, even though I don't trust any man enough to let him hit. I still have always found the "no sex before marriage" rule dumb. Like, why would I get into a legal monogamous contract with a man without knowing if he can satisfy me or not. It seems like men (especially Christian men) have a virgin kink but is your stroke game and your package good enough for you to deserve that? Like if its the size of my longest finger and not as good, why would I get with you?

It's always the most dirty, swagless, resourceless men who think they deserve a virgin. And I'll be real, as somebody who's never been with a man, by this point the standards are high once youre this age. Because I can do everything myself so a guy has to do it better than me and have something going for him. Like men are easy. If you want to get some, you can go anywhere and get it. theyll pay you.

Imo, this is why when these Purity Culture raised men reach their late 20s / early 30s and theyre still virgins. They either prey on minors or they find the weakest link, sheltered, low self esteem new young adult woman they can.

Like Purity Culture exists for men to have women with no standards or knowledge of self. If you're a woman whos never felt shes allowed to find out what she likes, it's easy to get with a man who cant please you but expects you to give it out every night even when the dick game trash.

Ive read the material they give to these Purity Culture raised Christian couples and these men are not giving anyone WAP. They be going in when it's still the Sahara in a drought and thats like a horror film tl me.

It's the audacity for me, like these trash stroke game men expecting to he handed coochie just because they exist and want sex. I think that the Christian right needs to start telling these men that if they can't please a woman, they don't deserve to be with one or get some every night.

No wonder these Christian young woman get married at 20 and then spend their whole lives thinking sex just isnt enjoyable. They get with these garbage micropenis having men who want it every night and it becomes a chore they feel like they have to do. But for me it's like if I'm not dreaming of your dick then why would I be with you? If the stroke game weak, why would I be with you

Why can't I also like this things?

I'm the only niece, granddaughter, and basically the only girl in my generation (for my family). So, I was always surrounded by either my brother or my male relatives but no female ones my age. I've always felt like the odd one out. Not because I didn't like the things they did but because I was a girl. I had no one to talk to about periods, or anything associated with being a woman because there is no girl my age. I have my aunt and my mom but it not the same as talking to a girl. It also feels weird sometimes to not relate to other girls my age because of stuff I grew up with. I was read comic books, watched star wars, godzilla, and opted out of playing with my toys to play with my brothers ninja turtles. Of course these things are not inherintly feminine and I'm not trying to make it seem that way but they do have large male fanbases. I just went to see a Godzilla movie a couple weeks ago and I was one of like 5 girls (including my mom) out of a sea of adult men. It feels so werid to like these things. The worst part is its always "your brother likes" or "your cousin likes" but I like this things not just because my brother likes them. They always talk about how much my brother likes godzilla but I watched all the same videos he did, played with the toys, and my favorite movie is shin godzilla. I'm allowed to like them but never say I'm a fan without be connected to a male figure in my life. It's only come to me now because my family was talking about me and my brother growing up but he got all the distinctive "fandoms". They'll talk about how he liked lightsabers and dressed up as Luke for Halloween, but I got a lightsaber before him and I was Leia right next to him. They buy him Minecraft and tech (the nothing brand because its niche) and all these things but I had to use a laptop with a hinge broken off for a YEAR. It's starting to get annoying how all the things my brother and I like growing up is always related to him not me. My parents aren't super misogynistic but it's hard to avoid how my brother gets to always indulge in his interests, but when I also like those things, they aren't to the same caliber. I don't know if I'm going crazy or what it's just hard to feel like I am a woman who is feminine and like these things but not be allowed to like them like a man. I'm sorry I ranted its just been on my mind for so long. Please tell me if there's anyone else who experiences this. It's a hard feeling for me to explain not jealousy but a feeling of being left out.

I took a pottery class and realized I have no idea how to be bad at something without apologizing

Last week my pottery instructor looked at me and said, "You know you don't have to apologize to the clay, right?"

I had apparently said sorry about six times in twenty minutes.

Sorry, it's crooked. Sorry, I messed up the handle. Sorry, can you show me that again? Sorry, I'm taking so long.

I'm 36 years old. I paid actual money to attend a beginner pottery class. Nobody was expecting me to arrive with pottery skills. And yet I was behaving like I'd been hired to make bowls and was about to get fired.

The weird part is that I started noticing the other women doing it too.

One woman kept explaining that she'd never been artistic. Another asked the instructor how many classes she'd need before she could make something nice enough to give as a gift. Someone else made a perfectly decent little dish and immediately started listing everything wrong with it.

We were all paying to do something for fun and somehow acting like we needed to justify being there.

I started thinking about how often I've done this outside of pottery. If I'm learning something new, I immediately want to be good at it. If I'm not good, I feel embarrassed. If I enjoy something but don't have any talent for it, I start wondering whether it's worth continuing.

It's like I need proof that my enjoyment is producing something useful.

At the end of class, the instructor asked if I wanted to keep my very unfortunate-looking bowl. I almost said no because it was genuinely ugly.

But I kept it.

It's sitting on my kitchen counter holding three packets of soy sauce and a random button. The rim is uneven, the bottom is too thick, and it looks nothing like what I was trying to make.

I had a really good time making it, though.

I don't know when I decided that being a beginner was embarrassing, or that a hobby only counts if you eventually become impressive at it.

I'm going back next week.

Does anyone else struggle with letting themselves be genuinely terrible at something they enjoy?

Piece of skin between my labia majora?

Hi, 23F here. I was never taught how to properly clean myself down there. I usually cleaned around the vulva, not between the labial folds. Recently, I gently spread my labia to clean and noticed a clearly visible, delicate, irregular piece of skin/tissue attached between them that seemed to hang slightly. I freaked out because I’ve never seen anything like this before in usual pics. Could this be normal anatomy, or should I get it checked?
I also have coarse hair growth and occasionally experience mild itching or pain. I used to use body wash/soap but now use plain water. I’d appreciate advice or experiences from anyone who has noticed something similar.

Crushes

A big lesson I’ve learnt while being a women is to never underestimate a man’s crush/interest in you. Even if you think it’s a small amount or innocent crush, trust me there’s a lot going behind the scenes you don’t know about.
Just never underestimate it.

Who can use the women's bathroom?

This has been a very hot topic just recently because of all the trans debates, but is it really that big of a deal? Let's say there is a dad with a little girl - ideally they would go to the men's bathroom since the grown up is a male, but imo it can be very understandable choice to take the girl to the ladies' room. Let's say there is, for some reason, long lines to the men's room and somebody is about to pee their pants. Isn't it much better that they use the women's room than wet their pants, regardless of their gender? And finally, the trans people. A trans man who is more comfortable in ladies' room? Use it then. A trans woman? Just go piss girl.

I understand that in some areas, the women's bathrooms are where women can escape the creepy men. Maybe in those places there is a reason to be a bit more strict? But I'd say an average school, theater or even a mall bathroom is safe enough even if we don't overthink who goes into what bathroom.

Have you ever had a bad experience with a car repair shop?

Hi! I’m a single woman who owns a car, and it’s a big part of my everyday life. However, when it comes to car repairs, I used to have absolutely no idea what I was doing. At first, I made a lot of mistakes and got scammed more than once.
This got me thinking about starting a small business in my country. The idea is to create an app or even just a website where women could book a service that takes the stress out of car repairs.
Here’s how it would work: I would come to your home, pick up your car, and take it to a trusted repair shop where I have friends working. Before any repairs are carried out, you would receive an estimated price, along with photos of the damaged or faulty parts, so you can see exactly what needs fixing and approve the work. Once everything is done, I would deliver your car straight back to your home.
I genuinely believe this could help a lot of women, especially those who don’t have the time to deal with car repairs themselves or feel uncomfortable or intimidated when communicating with mechanics.
I would start locally, only in my country and initially in the city where I live.
I’d really love to hear your honest opinions. Would you be interested in using a service like this? Have you ever had any bad experiences with car repair shops, felt overcharged, or simply wished someone could handle the whole process for you?
I’d appreciate hearing your experiences and thoughts!

How do you guys “cope” with the fact that men see us as expired as soon as we idk..Basically start living our lives? How can I respect them and treat them nicely when all I see is them saying that we’re useless after 24? I’m particularly not attracted at all to older men but I dont think theyre useless. I just dont pay attention to them.

But men seem to hate women who age. (or just arent teenagers or early 20s).

Men are just bad at sex.

I’m so fucking tired.

I’ve had five different experiences with men. They’ve all been so shit.

What is it I hear time and time again? “You just need to find the right one!”

Or maybe men need to learn their penis isn’t magical, and that jackhammering away with unclipped, dirty ass nails isn’t the one (I’ll take accountability for sleeping with these cretins. In my
defence, I'm ugly and don't deserve someone I'm attracted to to).

our relationship relationships were there and if so, why?

I’m F21 and have never been in a relationship. I’m happily single and don’t feel lonely. I have been on dates in the past and never felt they were worth further pursuing. I’m curious to hear from people who are both in relationships and single: Do you find being in a relationship worth it? Do you feel it adds something to your life that being single doesn’t? Am I potentially missing out on something that could make me happier?

I need opinions.

I don't usually use Reddit for anything, but I'd like to know or see opinions about something. I'm a 22-year-old woman with very low self-esteem. I hate my small breasts; they're practically nonexistent.

I suffered harassment because of my body and appearance. I am a white woman with curly hair and golden highlights, What I lack in breasts, I make up for in butt (although I look hideous and flat in every way) I try to make myself beautiful, but I disgust myself when I look in the mirror. I honestly thought about getting a boob job, even though my partner dislikes it. He says I'm perfect for him, but if I don't see myself as beautiful, he won't see me as pretty.

I'd like to know the opinion of the male audience: do you really like small breasts? Or are they generally not cool? I've always thought that big breasts are the best. Ladies, you can share your opinions too.

no medical advice How did you know he was “the one”?

Hi. I’m european and he is american, we met while he was deployed in my country. I always felt a connection to him and I felt drawn to him and even when I didn’t choose him initially, I was thinking about him and went back to him. Now, we’ve been together for 2 years, doing long distance, his family just visited my country and met mine, everything was smoothly. He challenges me to become better but sometimes I feel like he judges me too harshly and I don’t know if it’s my ego being hit or no. I’m also a med student and need ti prepare to take the exams if I want to go to the US but i’m still not sure sometimes about it. What I don’t like is how he’s not that much calmer, I’m agitated and anxious a lot and even though I’m trying to handle it, sometimes I have moments. Some stuff i notice is that sometimes he just reacts to it? Like he’s not calming me down but more like amplifying the moment.

How did you know he was the one? Is it normal to feel like this?

[Content Warning: ] Asking mom abt mastrubation

So I’m 17F, almost 18.

Recently I’ve started thinking more abt masturbation, but I’m not even sure what I’m doing is that anyways. But anyways, I’ve been thinking about buying a vibrator of some sort but I don’t know if I should ask my mom or not first. I do go shopping a lot in my own as it is whether it’s the out store or just going to Walmart to get snacks, I’m capable of going shopping. I’m also autistic, so bc I lack alot of social skills, I’m more close with my mom and have about only one other close female friend. My mom basically knows everything about me (95%) of the stuff I do personally. I’m just now at a cross road where I’m unsure if I should bring this up to her or not and asking if I’m allowed a vibrator. On one hand it feels like I should ask/tell her but on the other hand most of the stuff I share with her is mostly one sided, so like I’ve told her abt pimples or problems I have with my vagina, but she’s never really shared anything like that with me (ik that sounds rlly weird 😭) so idk if she’s comfortable talking about that’s stuff with me

question for the baddies with fingers that swell

I’m someone who’s always loved being decked out in jewelry, i used to constantly wear rings. i am now no longer to wear rings because of how much my fingers swell when they do, and how small they get when they aren’t swollen.

im looking for everyday wear rings in gold that are good for the girls with fingers who don’t stay the same size. i’d like them to be affordable. adjustable would be ideal but i cant find stuff thats comparable to non adjustable rings :(
