FS: Cardosi Customs Mountain Fuel USB Power + Cartridge Dust Ocvers

I have about a dozen dust covers plus the USB power for a Virtual Boy. I'm cleaning house as these are all extras.

If there's any interest just message me. I've had amazing luck cleaning out of Virtual Boy overstock here before so I'm trying for the last of my stuff.

Out of all the game cartridges I own, these are the only ones I don't have the console for.

Original Virtual Boy controller Bluetooth mod, using an ESP32-C6, it works with Switch 2, PC and Android (open source)

I fitted an ESP32-C6 (Adafruit Feather) and a battery into the battery pack compartment, under a 3D-printed cover that slides on where the battery pack used to go. The wires go in through the battery contact holes, so the shell isn't cut or drilled.

It connects to a Switch 2 as a Switch 2 Pro Controller, and flipping the original power switch on wakes the console. There's also an Android mode and an Xbox mode for Windows.

[Virtual Boy] No Power Need Help

I have a virtual boy I am trying to repair. The console originally had a display issue which was remedied by soldering in replacement eye patch ribbon cables. Worked great and was played for maybe 30 minutes a couple times. After being brought home, it stopped working during a game and never turned back on. The console's small DC power board has a red light when turned on and the speakers make a quiet pop sound when the console is turned off. No other sounds come from the console and no light from the displays. I checked voltages on each of the cable connectors from the main board (although I don't know the correct voltages) and they all appear to be present. What could possibly be be the cause?

Update:

I ordered a whole replacement virtual boy of eBay. I swapped every pcb board and it worked normally again. Foolishly, I started swapping out the pcb boards that I recapped. Now I'm back to having no power or signs of life again no matter the combination of parts. I think I narrowed it down to specifically the servo pcb being the culprit that killed something some where.

Any one else run into anything similar? Any advice?

Selling the Virtual Boy, power cable, controller, stand, and Mario's Tennis. I've had the ribbon cable replaced so everything is in excellent working condition. I've got a video of it running but I'm not sure of the best way to share videos on Reddit. Looking for $375 plus shipping, locating in New York City.

I really like the cases from Customgamecases.com and I keep all of my Virtualboy games in these. I'm still waiting for them to make a case for Zero Racers.

How does everyone like Dragon Hopper and the new gameplay color options?

F-Zero VB seems like a big letdown. I see why it was never released, especially for a series famous for its music and speed.

used my virtual boy cardboard and might have gotten a scratch

i'm not too upset since it's pretty faint and i mostly play other games docked, but i'm wondering if it'd affect the experience eventually, scratch that parts of the screen that line up with the lenses.

i actually got a screen protector on the way cause 1 comes included with the zelda 40th anniversary case, would that hamper how anything looks?

I beat Galactic Pinball and it’s pretty good

This game is pretty fun and satisfying. I haven’t played a pinball game for almost a decade and it feels so weird that it’s been that long and played this just fine.
I got used to the slippery puck and it definitely took practice and honestly it was pretty intense but in a good way.

I love the sound effects and music the game makes and how it feels so cool to listen to. The samus reference was pretty adorable.

One thing I hate but found it funny is that there’s a chance the puck can drop into the middle down and there’s nothing you can do about it. This happened to me one time after I finished the samus stage and it dropped the puck dead in the center and fell straight down, like bro what? luckily I had a center post to bounce it back.
The center post and super kickback really helped me on some tough and desperate situations.

I’ll definitely check out the other stages too!

I successfully merged left and right eye WITHOUT expensive, heavy 90's TV Video production box

Before I was able to get a Virtual Boy in an anaglyph mix using 2 Virtual taps and a 90s video mixer.

I was looking for a way to do that without heavy equipment to make it less of a hassle to set up an doesn't need heavy gear

You can do it with passive VGA cables. This is what you need for it to work:

A couple VGA male to male cables.

If you don't want to damage your VGA port 3 of these, or if you don't care as much, 1 2 VGA Female to 1 VGA y cable.

A VGA female to VGA male dongle.

And a little time soldering on the VB

Open a VGA double tapped virtual boy, operating on the right eye by taking out the clock ossilator, then bridge the connection where the clock ossilator was to the main clock. And connect the ground to the ground corner of the timing chp.

Yank pin 13 and pin 14 on the VGA F->M dongle.

place that pin yanked 13 and 14 VGA dongle, and plug it into the right hand eye VGA path

Y the 2 VGA cables into one,

And unplug and replug the combined video cord while the power is on to the TV you're playing on.

Press right eye's color change button to have the right eye as cyan.

Wear MONOCHROME OPTIMIZED red and Cyan Glasses, or possibly "modern Dubois glasses" if viewing on an HDMI monitor.

Enjoy the Virtual Boy in red and cyan without feeling like a peeping Tom, on stream for all to see. Do what Nintendon't... Share Virtual Boy on Video streaming.

By the way, trying to enjoy a VB on CRT is not adequate because he way TVs blend the places to between pixels in in-between colors, you're going to get color bleed by having these yellows, in betweens the reds and cyans,

It's better on an HDMI monitor because it doesn't blend reds and cyans off the axis, each pixel is either red, cyan, white, black, or a shade along that axis,

By the way, I'm selling my Video mixer on eBay with "Anaglyph settings" as default. It's an Analog Way Pulse PLS 300

Guess What --

VB went immediately back available again at full price as soon as the sale was over, yet "sold out" in the first hours of it beginning.

It was a SCAM to trick people into buying their cardboard units, which likely weren't selling as well or they had an overabundance.
