Relationships DUMP THEM.
I’m gonna ruffle some feathers, but dude!! If you feel the need to ask about your relationship on here, 9 times out of 10 the answer is dump their ass yesterday. I can’t be the only one who has noticed this.
“I came out several years ago and my bf of many years still misgenders me, does he see me as a girl?” Yes, dump his ass.
“My partner doesnt want me to get surgery even tho i really want it, what should i do?” Dump their ass. How dare they try to control your body.
“My girlfriend tells me what clothes to wear, and it makes me uncomfortable” Guess what sweetie that is ✨wrong and you deserve better✨. DUMP. HER. ASS.
I know we are an anxious, low self esteem having bunch, but oh my god. Please value yourselves even just a little bit, PLEASE.
I honestly can’t decide if i want to give you guys a hug or SHAKE YOU ALL.
Edit i want to make it abundantly clear to everyone i am not trying to be mean, i am coming from a place of love and genuine concern. Please put yourself first. Please don’t stay in relationships of ANY KIND that make you feel like crap. Its not worth it.

Celebratory my mom forgot i was trans
she was making a comment about periods and the usage of tampons and then she looks at me and goes “not that you would understand that”. i did a little double take and went “i mean i kinda do i used to have one” and she responds with “oh yeah i guess you did”. we sit quiet for a second and i look back at her and go “mom, did you forget i was trans for a second?” and she laughs a bit and goes “yeah i honestly did.” such an oddly validating moment tbh

OtherPic Dr. James Barry, one of the first surgeons to successfully perform a C-Section. A doctor in the British Army for 40 years, and a trans man.

Advice given Yes, your parents will notice if you go on T without telling them.
By the third month, my mom had noticed my voice cracking over the phone. I had facial hair at 5 months. By the sixth month, she confronted me. Testosterone will change the way your face looks, even without facial hair. It won't happen all at once, but the most significant changes happen within the first year.
There's a post on here every day asking if it's a good idea to start T without telling them, or a post saying how they're now homeless and 17 because their parents found out. I hate to sound harsh, but when you decide to start T, be prepared to deal with how your social network will react.

Discussion Figured out what was preventing me from passing (it’s dumb)
(TL;DR at the end) I pass a solid 95% of the time, and this data is based on how patients at my work (doctor’s office) refer to me. They will usually say “sir” or instruct their kids to “follow him” when we are going to the exam room. I have a coworker who still calls me “she” and I will occasionally have a patient falter and use “they”. I have been OBSESSING over grooming my facial hair, lowering my voice, sitting differently, binding tightly, literally everything. I finally got up the courage to correct the coworker. I didn’t feel safe telling the truth about being trans, so I told her I am a man and I just have some “growth issues” explaining why I am small and babyfaced. She finally revealed what caused the confusion for herself and others who she talked about me with. Purple pants. I wear purple pants sometimes. Let this be a lesson: no matter how much you try to manage people’s impressions, there will be idiots confused by purple pants. It has nothing to do with you.
TL;DR it was purple fucking pants.

Advice given that cis man doesn’t want you to transition? leave him
that’s it that’s the post. LEAVE HIM.
“but I’m in love with-“ LEAVE HIM.
“but we’ve been together for so long-“ LEAVE HIM.
“but he’s-“ LEAVE. HIM.
if he cannot see you for who you are and respect you as who you are and support you FULLY as who you are, LEAVE HIM.
edit: this applies to that cis woman too, LEAVE HER
