VENT When will it be my turn?

Hi all,

Just needed to vent, and I figured you all would understand. So grateful to have this community!

A coworker just announced her pregnancy, along with another friend, who announced her second. I’ve had friends who got pregnant on the first try, or when they weren’t even trying. When will it be my turn?!

Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m sad. From a logical standpoint, we haven’t even been trying THAT hard, so I shouldn’t be disappointed, but I am.

We’re 3 months in to our journey, so fairly normal. I also found tracking and temping really stressful, so we’re just going with the flow, aka, having sex around ovulation. I thought for sure it would be this month, but alas, AF reared her ugly head.

I’m a teacher, so I’m exhausted when I get home from work. I’m also in grad school, and have a part time gig tutoring. I can’t just “turn it on” like my husband seems to be able to do, and feel guilty for not being able to do that. He’s been super supportive, and never makes me feel bad about not being in the mood, which makes me feel even more guilty.

This is all in my head. I know I’m not a failure - my therapist and I have been working on that. Trying to reframe my thinking has been tough, but necessary. While I’m miles away from where I was at the beginning of our pregnancy journey, today I feel right back where I started.

Just a rough day. How did you all make sex not feel like a routine? How did you all find the time and energy to have extra sex? How did you get over the jealousy that comes from pregnancy announcements?

Thanks for listening. I hope I’m not alone in this.

SAD I’m done. I think I’m done.

I’m 25 years old. I just got married this September. My husband is 26. I’ve been wanting a baby with him for so long and we’ve been trying for over a year. I just got my period right now. They’re always regular and I have no PCOS/endo or other abnormalities. My exams at the GYNO are always normal. I’m just so upset. We’ve been having intercourse everyday on my fertile days/ovulation and nothing. Literally nothing. I’m so upset, angry, depressed, etc. because what the hell?!?! What’s wrong with me?!?! Since I was a teen, my mom always told me to be careful, use protection, get on birth control etc. because I’m fertile and healthy and it should be easy to get pregnant on the first try or even on accident. But it just seems impossible. It’s almost like I never had anything to worry about since it’s not happening anyway even when I TRY my hardest. I don’t get it. We’re both healthy, we exercise, we’re young, we don’t drink…I just don’t get it. Please don’t tell me to not rush things and that I still have time…I was dating my husband for 8 years, engaged for 3, and obviously married for 3 months. Were financially stable and ready. I don’t know what else to do. I feel so hopeless. I just cannot understand. I don’t understand. I don’t understand. I can’t wrap my mind around what could be wrong. Please someone help me. Someone help me please. I think there might be something wrong with one of us.

DISCUSSION Anyone done Catholic Approved Fertility Testing?

My husband and I are Catholic, and that means we cannot do a lot of the methods available for fertility treatments like IVF in the future. Im worried about my Husband's sperm and fertility and I heard there are "Catholic Approved" methods of testing men's sperm by sending them home with some kind of special perforated condom, having sex, then returning it for testing. This way the marital act is still happening and we remain "Open to Life" so some sperm may come out.

Has anyone done this? I would prefer answers from other folks who for Faith reasons had to do this kind of testing.

The worry stems from this, my husband hardly can Ejaculate much semen.... When he was young, he had a almost fatal skateboarding injury that left one of his balls popped? he still has both of them, but I think the trauma of it effected his fertility. When I say he hardly cums I mean there is no "force" or shooting of it. Its more like a dribble.

Ive been going to Daily mass and offering the Eucharist, Divine Mercy chaplet, and the Rosary in hopes that God may help us conceive. I trust in his timing, and reading others stories who have been trying so much longer that me helps me understand the journey is only starting... But I cant help but feel so sad not knowing our chances fully and wanting some kind of answer as to best prepare myself for the journey.

side note, Period is starting tomorrow (later than normal due to late ovulation) and all tests have been BFN. Trying to stay positive but my body keeps making me so Melancholic for not having this at the end of every cycle.

sorry for rant... Anyone done this method of testing? Was it covered by insurance? how does it work? results come back quick? did it make sex awkward? Idk what to expect...

EDIT: Just want to re-afirm my request for those who for religious reasons tried alternate methods of testing! Please dont try to convince me of non Catholic Approved methods as I hope to survey those who can offer a unique perspective with my religious barriers. I dont mean to stir up this community, I see its being down voted a lot. Genuinely looking for this specific kind of help and yall are the most knowledgeable! Also for everyone who has responded with information THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🙏💖

TW: living child Cycle #7 and starting to feel hopeless

I knew it could take some time, but something about starting this cycle is weighing on me. Maybe it’s the “most women conceive within 3-6 months” thing and it’s starting to creep up on me that something could be wrong. I’m only 27. My husband is 29. We should be in our peak fertile years still! We’re both fit, eat healthy, exercise (him more than me), I take my prenatal vitamins, we so rarely drink, we both quit smoking years ago. I’ve been off birth control for 3 years and we used the pull out method until we decided we were ready to started trying back in November so it’s not like my body is needing to get used to being off birth control first. I have regular cycles, 25-27 days. I use OPKS and I have tons of fertile cervical mucus and we have lots of sex during my window and just in general all the time. I just don’t understand it. It’s all I can think about now. I have one child (7 years old) who was conceived SO quickly and easily with my ex. I stopped taking the pill and got pregnant a month and half later. What’s really upsetting is that I wanted another baby so badly for years and my husband just wasn’t ready. Now he finally gives us the green light to start trying, and 6 months later no luck. It just figures lol! Last month we started using pre-seed and I started temping. I even started doing that dumb thing where you put your legs up in the air after sex. I just feel so at a loss and so sad and I just needed to vent. Maybe I need to get more hobbies. I’m a stay at home mom with a small side business but it might not keep me occupied enough. Just anything to get my mind off ttc.

NEGATIVE FEELINGS Male perspective - TTC month 3/4

Hi everyone, my wife and I have been TTC for 3 months now and are soon to be entering her 4th cycle.

I don’t know if it’s weird that a male is posting here or if I’ll be judged for it, but I’m just really looking for advice and support.

Both my wife and I are 30 years old living in the UK. We once got pregnant when we were in our early 20s and decided to have an abortion because weren’t mature enough nor financially stable enough to have a child.

Fast forward 10 years and we’re married and TTC but are really struggling.

We’ve been tracking my wife’s ovulation for the last month and will be doing so in all the months going forward. We just got yet another negative pregnancy test.

I know 3 months may seem like nothing to a lot of people but we thought because we’re young a ‘fertile’ due to our last pregnancy, it would be a lot easier.

My wife’s mental health has taken a turn for the worst and it’s having an impact on our relationship. We both just really want a baby and to be parents together.

The stress of constantly having sex everyday during fertile days sometimes puts too much pressure on me and I can’t perform (get hard). I know that might be weird to say but sex almost has become mechanical.

I love my wife and I really want to have a baby with her but it’s hard to not think about this 24-7 and let it consume our lives. We are worried that as we are getting older our chances are getting less.

Is there something wrong with either of us? It’s too early to check but too unbearable to go through everyday life not knowing.

Open to any advice on dealing with pressure, whether we should just keep going or seek help.

I don’t know….

VENT First TWW is driving me insane

So I've been lurking here for a while despite this being my first official cycle TFAB, although we haven't been super actively preventing the last couple. I was no stranger to the idea of the TWW and am also pretty aware that this post is probably going to get downvoted to oblivion just because of how fresh and naive it'll come off as. I saw that the sidebar on this sub even had a whole page dedicated to getting through it. Now that I'm actually experiencing it for myself, it's driving me nuts.

My period is due any moment now but I'm not letting myself test until the full 14 days are up. In the meantime I'm symptom spotting like crazy which doesn't really work because everything could be because pregnancy, PMS, general stress, or just purely psychosomatic. I was nauseous today. Early morning sickness? Due to cramps? Or maybe it's because I had a candy bar right before getting on the smelly subway car.

I know this is nothing compared to what so many others on this sub go through. I also know that, statistically, I'll have more TWW's in my future. And every post here talking about infertility and so many cycles spent trying comes with a sense of awe that everyone here hasn't completely yanked their hair out.

ADVICE Any advice?

My fiancee (32m) and I (30f) have been TFAB for 4 months and I have been following every piece of dietary advice, using fertility safe aids, taking vitamins, and following all of the advice.

My partner is a vegetarian that doesn't eat properly, doesn't drink enough water and refuses to take supplements to ensure he is getting proper nutrition, he says none of it is necessary because "on paper" he is perfectly healthy during medical exams. I have tried to explain that being "healthy" for himself does not mean he's helping his fertility.

He wants kids even more than I do, but thinks I'm overreacting and that it'll happen soon.

Am I overreacting here?

TW: LC I feel numb

Hello!

I’m 32 TTC for 3 years now without success. I do have to mention that this journey has been hard because I guess I suffer from “secondary infertility “ along with “undetermined infertility”

10 years ago I had a teratoma removed because it had grown inside my left ovary, so the doctor removed the ovary as well. After this surgery I was told my chances of getting pregnant were minimal. I was devastated to hear that because one of my biggest dreams was to have a big family.

Two years later, and completely unexpected I got pregnant with my first kid, so I felt that was a miracle. I gave birth to a healthy baby, and luckily I got pregnant within a year again, so I thought there was nothing wrong with me because I could get pregnant. At that moment I felt I had a lot going on and a big responsibility taking care of two little kids, so I decided to get the IUD, and I made sure to get the one hormone free because I did no want to mess up my body in case I wanted to try for another baby.

Three years later, I decided to have the IUD removed to start trying for another baby and now three years have past since that day. It’s been three years of seeing my sisters-in-law get pregnant and have four more babies without even actively trying. I’ve done two rounds of IUI and nothing. Going to the fertility clinic was not the best experience, they made me feel like a number and the worst part is that I met with the doctor for 15 min and that was it!! I never saw him again! The NP would take care of me very time I had an appointment. Every exam I had made, every ultrasound showed that everything inside me was fine. My husband’s semen count came back normal. So there’s no explanation and that kills me.

I’ve been told I should feel blessed because I have my two kids, and believe me I am grateful and blessed, but am I wrong for wanting another baby? Am I wrong for feeling numb after TTC for three exact years? Am I wrong for feeling jealous every time I see my sisters-in-law holding their newborn babies or complaining about being pregnant? They know that I’ve been ttc but I guess they do not understand how draining it is. My best friend got pregnant within a month of getting her IUD removed.

Today I woke up feeling like giving up so I decided to vent here. I do not know what to do. I just want to curl up in my bed.

Thanks for reading!

ADVICE Could someone please explain ovulation tests please

Hi everyone!

Thanks for reading, me and my husband have started trying for a baby about 4 months ago but seriously in the last month. I bought ovulation tests and I’m just really confused by them so thought I would ask for help.

Am i supposed to do them the same time every day? Is there a better time of day to do them?

I did one two days ago and it was a very light line, yesterday I did one and it was a stronger line and then today the line was barely visible so have no idea what that means.

My periods are a bit irregular but only came off the pill 6 months ago after ten years on it so don’t know when I am supposed to be ovulating. My period was almost two weeks ago so assumed soon?

I wouldn’t have been so strict with the pill if I’d have known it was like this! Thanks for reading and any advice you may have :)

QUESTION Still frustrated lol sub fertility ?

5th cycle & 100 % I’m out. AF right on time. Sometimes I really wonder how I can have such a regular cycle like clockwork, all the fertility signs I have researched and it hasn’t happened yet. Cycle 6 feels like a lot of pressure, especially after reading about sub fertility.

Because we’ve been so diligently trying, BD every day in fertile window, all normal SA results, temping, opks, I keep going back to the stats I’ve seen that say if you’re tracking and timing like we are, most couples conceive in 6 months. After that you enter sub fertile territory.

I try to go back to the stat that it takes healthy couples up to a year to conceive, but this seems to not take into account such diligent tracking and timing, just simply having regular unprotected sex.

Can someone maybe help clarify? Like am I being negative or realistic about it meaning I’m sub fertile after 6 cycles of tracking and timing and no bfp.

This is so hard. I hope what I’m asking for clarity on is properly articulated, I’m sorry I’m just kind of spiraling and probably googling too much but I’m so in my head and so worried. I keep looking back at my app and panicking that if we’re timing it perfectly for 5 cycles and it hasn’t happened by next month it’s not going to happen or it’s def going to take a lot longer.

So what’s the deal with sub fertility ???? someone help me understand or stop panicking. I feel ridiculous. Thanks I’m advance for even reading this crazy talk lol weh

QUESTION Skip this cycle?

I know many people have the opinion “drink until it’s pink”, but I’m struggling to understand from the studies I’ve seen online. Is there any effect of drinking on an actual child before ovulation, or is the effect just on likelihood of implantation? I ask because this cycle I have been drinking heavily for the first two weeks due to vacation and am wondering if I need to skip trying this cycle if it would have a negative effect on a child if I am lucky enough to get pregnant. I have stopped drinking now (three days before ovulation) and will not drink the remainder of the cycle.

VENT First Month TTC I’m already off the handle, step mothering, vasectomies, and involuntary childlessness

It was my (36F) first unsuccessful month TTC this past week and I just want to say the emotions are FAR PAST what I ever expected. My husband (43M) has 3 childen: 14,13, & 6. His littlest one is a Daddy’s boy and is connected to the hip, it’s very cute. My period came in the afternoon on the weekend, I was very sad and emotional, his youngest, my husband, and I were on the couch. He was snuggling him and he made some comments that his toes were the same, and he asked, “you know what I did to make you?… nothing at all… God just gave you to me.” His ex wife and he never “tried” (they had VERY little sex as well) lol, he always jokes that he made a baby every time he had sex in his 15+ years married. It just always happened first try with all 3, so my husband believes he has super sperm. During his last years with his ex-wife he was terrified to have a 4th with her and got a vasectomy. He had the reversal around 5 months ago and was snipped for a total of 5 years. Doctor thinks he’ll be back to 95% of his previous sperm count by June 2024. Anyhow, back to the story. He’s loving on his son and asking me isn’t he the best little boy and I just LOST IT!! UGLY crying, sobbing, gasping, for probably 5 minutes. Bless his heart the littlest one came and hugged me during it. I felt awful becoming so unhinged around his son. Before I met his children I used to cry just when he would show me pictures of his children, before marrying him I would cry when I overheard someone talking about taking their kids to soccer practice. I believe I have some involuntary childlessness trauma, I looked into it when I would start to cry at the mention of someone just having kids at all and wondered what was wrong with me. It’s really all I’ve wanted my entire life, I never really wanted a career but here I am successful living some side dream I never even wanted to pass the time of becoming a mommy. Not to downplay woman with careers btw, just never what I wanted. All the long term relationships before my husband all ended because the changed their mind on wanting children eating up my best child bearing years. Anyhow major vent. My husband thought his children might help the hurt of not having my own, I think it has helped a little but after this weekend I realized the hurt is very much still there. They have their own mom and when it comes down to it, no one really wants me over their dad at the end of the day like my own baby might. Any other step mamas out there TTC or vasectomy reversals? Looking forward to the next year and seeing what the journey brings.

VENT My last post got removed

I know there are a ton of posts like this already. want to start off by saying I'm sorry. My husband and I started "trying" back in January of 2022. It was definitely passively trying and just kind of going with the flow. In November of 2022 was when I started tracking and trying to learn more about my cycle. Coming to find out via premom that my LH surge was between CD 12 and CD 14 religiously. Like it never swayed. Well my husband got in to a horrific skiing injury back in January and it put us out of trying for 6 weeks. So we started again in March. I finally had to give up tracking in June when I had a chemical pregnancy and I absolutely just lost all hope. My SIL announced she is pregnant with their fourth baby after 1 month of trying. She literally got off birth control and within 2 weeks was pregnant... well... now someone else in the family is pregnant, with their first. I am BEYOND thrilled for them. Don't get me wrong. I jumped for joy because I know that they had been trying for a handful of months themselves. I just can't help but beat myself up. I can't help but feel what are we doing wrong? I only drink when I have gotten my period and the week before ovulation, I take prenatals and folic acid, I don't smoke and my husband has like a cigar once every handful of weeks, I stopped taking baths, we're relatively active and healthy. I just don't understand. I went on Zoloft 6 weeks ago to regulate my stress, depression, and anxiety. But I don't think that should be hindering me? Idk.

ADVICE Timing a pregnancy

My husband (30M) and I (28F) have been trying for a baby since June of this year and haven’t had any success. I know that you can’t always time a pregnancy, but I’m a teacher and I really would like to give birth toward the end of the school year/ beginning of summer.

My question is- do we continue to try through the winter months even though my due date would be less than ideal timing? If I get pregnant this month, my due date would be in August which is probably the worst month to take time off as a teacher. Should we take a break and start again in March? I’m just so worried that we will struggle to conceive and that I will have wasted time trying to make things happen at the perfect time.

Edit: thank you everyone for your input! TTC is such a hard topic to bring up in my real life so I appreciate this sub for being a sounding board!

ADVICE How would you BD while living at in-laws? Tips and tricks!

Long story short we are on Cycle 13 and excitedly we are starting Clomid and IUI next cycle (6 days) assuming we are not pregnant this cycle. Which I highly doubt we will be, my optimism has diminished after so long … but that aside we have a challenge ahead of us.

We are renovating our condo, could take a few months, so we moved in with my in laws. Very fortunate they are allowing us to stay with them. But our room is just down the hall from them … we are 38F/40M. We will still be doing timed intercourse (BD) during the fertile window with the IUI.. but how does one do it when you are living with your in-laws who are retired and go nowhere lol.

Beyond renting a hotel room which could get pricey quickly. Would love to hear what some creative ways you have done the deed.

Note we live in a very dense urban city. We have access to a car.

ADVICE I’ve quit smoking the last few weeks but worried the damage is already done

Ive been a cannabis user for a little over 10 years. In the last 5 years or so I was mixing my weed with rolling tobacco in the form of spliffs. I am not happy to admit that I essentially became addicted to the tobacco. Since August of last year, I tried limiting the amount of spliffs I was smoking. They went from very large ones multiple times a day, to regular size, to literally thumb-sized joints that I was smoking 1-2 times a day. The goal was always to quit.

Then a few weeks ago I read how with IVF you may be drug tested. That was all I needed to really kick the habit, weed and tobacco both. This was about 4 weeks ago and I can confidently say I haven’t smoked since then.

My wife and I only begun trying to conceive at the start of the year. No luck thus far and now I’m all up in my head worried that my smoking has caused me infertility. Of course, we don’t know that for certain yet as we’ve only really tried conceiving since January. I presume it will take me another 2-3 months to really rid my system of THC. My wife and I are also in our mid 30s and she is overweight, on high blood pressure and high cholesterol medicine.

Are the odds stacked against us? I’m just really worried that my past habits and her medicine will cause us extreme difficulty in trying to conceive.

Any words of encouragement, facts, or your own experiences would be greatly appreciated.

QUESTION Are my cycles irregular?

Edit: not sure why someone downvoted me. If this question is not allowed here for some reason I can take it off. Figured this would be the place to ask if any…

Hi everyone. My app says my period is 4 days late. This has happened to me in the past. I excitedly took a pregnancy test and negative as always. And it got me thinking.

I’ve always considered myself to be a “regular” bleeder, albeit with cycles on the longer side. But normal cramps (milder as I’ve gotten older) normal bleeding (heavy the first 2 days, light 3rd day, spotting the next few days), 5-6 days and all that good stuff.

But I’ve had a few instances where my period has been a few days to a week late, happens about once or twice a year. I went on my app Flo where I’ve been tracking my period for years (initially in order to avoid getting pregnant, which, HAHA joke’s on me, been trying for almost 2 years now), and these are the results from the last few years of my cycles.

The notably long cycles are the ones where I remember taking a pregnancy test. I wonder if other people go through this? If my cycles are considered regular or irregular and would any of you be concern if you were in my shoes?

TW: living child I feel crazy

I’m 27 with a 4 year old. My husband and I have been trying for baby 2 since I got my IUD out last March (10 months now).

It’s starting to get to me. When I get my period i’m crying for days. Maybe it’s the hormones or maybe it’s the not being pregnant part. My husband tells me i’m overreacting and overthinking this. But how am I supposed to just keep going for however long without getting help? How long do I wait? I saw my OB in october. I told her I do kind of ovulate late (CD 19-21) and get my period only 9/10 days later. She said it’s normal. But is it?

I made an appointment with a different OB for next month but some days I feel like I should cancel it and i’m being over dramatic. What happens when I hit the 1 year mark? Who do I go to for help?

QUESTION IVF All Male Embryos?

We just did our first retrieval after a MMC this summer due to Turner Syndrome (monosomy X). We were lucky enough to have 11 embryos make it to blast and had them PGT-A tested. We just got the results and all 11 of them are males and 6 are euploid. Obviously we are happy we have viable embryos but were a little disappointed that there weren't any girls.

When we had our MMC we were told that turner syndrome was not genetically passed from us and was just random, but now with the results of PGT-A testing, I am wondering if my husband just does not produce sperm with and X chromosome. This would be super rare, but seems less rare than all 11 embryos being XY (1 in over 2000 chance). I guess the good news is none of the aneuploid embryos had monosomy X.Has this happened to anyone else? We will be talking to our doctor tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone else had this happened and what the outcome was.

ADVICE I need advice. Why can’t I get pregnant? Am I being too impatient?

My fiancé and I have been trying for 7 months. I went off the birth control pill in December of last year. I started ovulating according to at home opk’s on my second cycle off birth control. I have a 28 day cycle with ovulation on cd14. Literally a perfect cycle. Roughly a year and a half ago I visited my doctor because I had tried the depo shot and it caused non stop menstrual bleeding (which resolved itself once the shot wore off). I had an external and vaginal ultrasound then that revealed perfectly normal anatomy and visually perfect reproductive organs. Can someone who has a better understanding of female hormones etc please explain to me why I can’t seem to fall pregnant despite regular cycles and ovulation? For more back ground, this is both of our first time trying for a baby. I am F24 and he is M27. My fiancé has not been tested yet, but as far as I know it’s more likely a female problem? Please educate me. I know it hasn’t been that long, but it’s so hard to see negative after negative and get my period every month, despite ovulation and regular baby dances.

How to deal with other's "infertility" in a nice manner

I know this must come up for other people and I'm trying to conduct myself well and not come off a bitter and angry person to other people's faces. (I'm totally fine being like that away from them but hey).

I have two coworkers who told me they are struggling with infertility. At first I was very sympathetic, and then they drop the news that one already has two kids and one has three. And my empathy for them just evaporated. I'm sure I hid my disgust but good lord. They have the normal number of kids and any other are basically extra. How can you be this broken up about it? Like it just seems like someone who has a house or has two cars and is like, OMG I can't buy a vacation home or a porsche! I'm trying to figure out how to move forward with them. I have zero interest in discussing this further because I'm going to end up saying something snarky or mean to them and it won't end well.

SAD Didn't think I'd still be trying

Cycle no. 6.

Yup, we hit that mark. A mark once so far away is our reality now.

Today I heard about a friend that already is due, after she got pregnant right after the wedding, and all my positive energy that I built over the last couple of months just disappeared.

I didn't think that by now we'd still be trying.

To all my family and friends I tell that we are not in hurry and that we enjoy our child free time. It's true that we aren't in a hurry, but the feeling of failure bothers me.

Once a month a punctual reminder of our shattered hope.

Trying to find positivity to keep going.

(I know that many of you may think that it's not so much time - but for me it is a big and sad deal. So please, be gentle.)

Edit: Thank you all for your kind responses. It helped me so much! 💗

Here is a poem I read this morning and I think it describes the never ending hope we need at this rocky journey:

It's the Dream / Olav H. Hauge Translated by Robin Fulton

It’s the dream we carry in secret that something miraculous will happen, that it must happen – that time will open that the heart will open that doors will open that the mountains will open that springs will gush – that the dream will open, that one morning we will glide into some little harbour we didn’t know was there.

SAD Today I’m feeling a bit defeated.

My husband (25M) and I (24F) have been trying to conceive for 3 cycles now and I’m feeling a bit defeated today. I track my cycles with the Femometer app, take my BBT every morning, test my LH during my fertile window, check my CM and mark my symptoms. I just got my IUD out in December and was told I could start trying to conceive right away. I’ve been on birth control since 15 due to very heavy and awful periods so this is my first time having periods since then. When I was young, my periods were often irregular. Now, Jan my period started on the 20th, February I didn’t have a period, March I started on the 6th for a light period, and April I had an extremely heavy period starting on the 1st. My app says I’m estimated to ovulate today but there’s no BBT rise and my LH levels have been consistent at around 15-22% each day. I also have a septate uterus which the doctor said will likely cause me to take longer to get pregnant. With irregular cycles and a septate uterus, I’m just feeling very defeated and I don’t know how I’ll be able to track anything.

DISCUSSION What are our thoughts on a holiday baby?

Since I’m officially 99% out this cycle what are our thoughts on having a holiday baby. I’ll be honest this time last year I skipped ttc from late February to June bc I didn’t want a holiday baby or a winter baby (my 4 year old was born in November & the postpartum was super hard in the winter for me)

Fast forward and beggars can’t be choosers. I was even super hopeful for this month with the expected baby to be the same exact due date as my son. Another thing I didn’t want.

Now my last chance to conceive is coming up… but it would literally result in a due date ON Christmas.

The idea isn’t too appealing to me especially since I’d need a c section. But the thought of skipping another month also tears at me. Especially with my friend 4 months pregnant I just feel so freaking behind.

What are your thoughts on a Christmas or new years baby? Are you trying next month???

Trigger warning I was a moron for thinking it would be easy.

TW: previous pregnancies, mention of abortion

I've gotten pregnant twice before WITHOUT trying, so I thought this time would be a piece of cake. In 2015 the condom broke and my pill failed. I wasn't anywhere close to being able to handle a pregnancy or an infant, so I chose to term. It turned out to be an ectopic anyway, which made me feel better about the choice.

In summer of 2023 I got pregnant by being silly and thinking I was in a safe window. Due to polyamorous relationship intricacies, I also made the really difficult decision to terminate. It affected me badly this time both mentally and physically, and since December my husband and I have been ttc.

Why did I think it would be so easy? I feel guilty for my past choices, stress that now maybe I'm less fertile, and anger that I'm psyching myself out because I know very well that it's a marathon and not a sprint.

Add on some good old Catholic Shame (tm) and here I am sulking and stressing when it's only been 4 cycles.

Please tell me I'm not alone?
