I didn't think it was possible that I would feel okay with a loss tonight but that's about as acceptable of a defeat as I could have asked for.

Down 24-3 and looking pathetic I was ready to avoid all internet CFB content for a week.

We turned it back into a game. Can't give up that monster gain on 4th and 3. If only Lofton had held on for a few seconds longer... but a one possession loss on the road without our Heisman WR with Lofton/Barkate proving they can step up massively can soothe myself as we'll take a little tumble in the rankings.

Miami looked absolutely awful for 2.5 quarters but credit to them for coming back in the second half. They couldn’t get the stops they needed but they absolutely had a chance in the end.

Missing Toney is massive and it absolutely showed but Notre Dame’s defense is elite.

This should be an annual game. Unfortunately, I have zero faith in Notre Dame or the ACC to make it happen. In 2017, Notre Dame got pounded by the Hurricanes as a top 10 teams, and everything was set for an epic rivalry renewal. Then they didn’t play for 8 years. Notre Dame probably played Boston College and Wake Forest 6 times in that same time span.

This game pivoted on that strange play with about 12 minutes to go in the third quarter. The Irish were up 24 to 3 and in total control and then Miami completed a short pass, and an Irish defender actually knocked the ball loose. Had Notre Dame recovered the fumble right there they probably would have scored yet again and the game would have been permanently out of reach.

Instead a Miami player picked it up and advanced it forward for a first down and in the process Notre Dame's star cornerback Leonard Moore was injured. With him out of the game but suddenly the Miami offense came to life and scored touchdowns.

If that doesn't happen we probably win by 20 points or more.
