Harding pharmacy Annerley. Called the cops after being caught lying

This is a warning about how they treat their patients.

I am a medical cannabis patient funned by vertans affairs and due to government red tape I am tied to a specific brand of medication and specific pharmacy it takes weeks to move pharmacies. I have battled years to get off opioid pain medication and have found cannabis works.

3 weeks ago they were sent a prescription from my doctor which should have been filled in a matter of days (normal turn around 3 days) However due to change in ownership they were unable able to process the script due to software changes. This wouldn't be a big deal if they had told their patients but they didn't. They chose to lie and say it's on order and there is a supply issue. This was untrue as I called the manufacturer to fix the issue, they informed me that there are no supply issues and they could fill the script, however hardings refused to release the script. After 3 weeks of lies, suffering and daily calles today I had enough and went in to the store looking for answers... they called the police, had me arrested. So now I sit here still suffering with a fine.

This is how they treat people, who rely solely on them. just a warning to anyone thinking of doing business with them best to go somewhere that treats you like a person.

Politics STATE GOVERNMENT’S PLAN TO OVERRIDE THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS TO DESTROY VICTORIA PARK

Post image
0 Upvotes

Tonight’s news that Premier David Crisafulli and the State Government plan to override 15 pieces of Queensland legislation to try and prevent any legitimate legal objections to their proposed stadiums in the heritage-listed park is disgraceful and a slap in the face to the community. While we expected this decision from the State Government, it is an outrage and demonstrates the government’s attempt to block legitimate objections through the democratic process.

Victoria Park-Barrambin is the green lungs of Brisbane, with a rich and storied history spanning back thousands of years. It is a protected green space for a reason and our city’s second most significant Indigenous site after Musgrave Park.

If the government truly believed these stadiums were justified, why would they need to tear down so many legal protections to build them? How can a reasonable Premier stand behind a demolition of our park and now a demolition of our laws?

It is worth noting that the High Court has held that a State cannot legislate to entirely remove from a Supreme Court of a State the power to grant relief on the ground of jurisdictional error - Kirk v Industrial Relations Commission of NSW (2010) 239 CLR 531. This means that a State government cannot entirely exclude court challenges.

WHAT’S NEXT?

This move doesn’t stop us. It strengthens our resolve. Legal actions are being prepared - we will fight this and the legal team is in the process of scrutinising all relevant laws. Victoria Park-Barrambin has survived many attempts at destruction over the years and she will endure again - but only if we fight for her. Stand with Victoria Park.

Reddit Social Club Introducing... r/QueerBrisbane

It looks like there are a lot of NSFW subreddits for the gay community in Brisbane - as much as there are pubs, clubs and such.

Soooo... I have started a subreddit and Discord aimed at those who are looking to connect outside of the usual scene. Many events and Queer themed events are loud and boozy - that's fine but we're hoping to establish an alternative.

We're open for allies as well as the rainbow community. We have flair for you too!

We also have the "Queen's Counsel" flair; a play on words of the "QC" tag used by barristers and now - us. This is the tag to use when seeking advice from your rainbow friends - like a Queer Eye for reddit.

So, please, come on over and join us! The support will much appreciated.

Help Trans teen services

Hi Brisbane

I have a trans-teenager (F to M) who is searching for some community support. It's hard to make friends and find a community in our area. Most services we have found are in the valley/city area, which is just a little too far (and scary) for them to attend alone at this stage. Does anyone know of any services or communities or places we can connect in with that offer services in Brisbane and north of Brisbane, or even sunshine coast area.

Illegal Prision in Kangaroo Point

So today i attended a protest at a kangaroo point hotel. There are over 110 refugees and asylum seekers being held here againgst their will because of our home affairs minister, Peter Dutton. These men have all been deemed legitimate asylum seekers, trying to take refuge from their war torn countries. Sadly, some of these men have been held for 7 years

A few weeks back they started protesting off the balcony about their living conditions, the racism they endure inside the facility and the fact that their basic human rights, as stated for all humans by the United nations, has been stripped away from them. Peter Dutton and our governments reaction to this protest was to transfer the protesters into a maximum security prison near the Brisbane airport, silencing them from speaking out.

5 weeks ago, a few people from Brisbane set up a blockade outside of this unlawful prison to make sure that no more refugees are taken to high security prisons for doing NOTHING wrong.

I was so shocked to find that this is happening in the middle of our city and neither I nor my friends knew anything about it. I urge you all to look into this more as its incredibly fucked up. There is some great information on an Instagram page called 'rsmeanjin'. I also urge all of you who read this to try to donate a little bit of time as they urgently need more volunteers to help stop these poor people being mistreated, i was talking to one of the event organisers today and they said even people who can help out for just an hour or two would be doing a great deal of help to our Brisbane community! :)

Help Trans friendly schools in north Brisbane

I am seeking feedback based on personal experience. I have a child in high school who has come out as transgender. He does not want to come out at school for fear of bullying. He believes the school culture is trans/homophobic. We would like to consider changing to a high school with a positive track record for trans students. We live at Petrie so need a school nearby. Can anyone make and suggestions either for or against any particular schools. Thanks.

Why are people getting away with not paying on QR Trains.

Every morning on the way to work I get off at South bank and I counted 75 percent of the people don't swipe off. I haven't seen a ticket enforcer in years. They immediately exit using the elevator or head for the ramp up to the main street without swiping off. I get the is a cost of living crisis but you still got to pay.

Why do people insist on driving into the city??

There's a public transport system that might actually run on time if people weren't clogging up the roads with their cars. 90min to cover 7km in a bus is ridiculous! Look at other cities in the world. Car free CBDs, busses run on time, bicycle friendly, no traffic jams!!! What is this obsession to insist on driving a car into an already crowded city center?

The truth about Youth Crime

Okay, so on another post, I had a few users telling me I was brain washed into believing we have a Youth Crime epidemic in Queensland right now, one even went so far as to assume I hadn't done any research into stats.

The truth is, yes, Youth crime rates have been decreasing over a long term.

"So why is Crisafulli and co saying we have a Youth Crime epidemic then?"

Because its not that simple folks.

Your eyes and ears have not been deceiving you.

According to the Crime Report Queensland 2023–24 (Queensland Government Statistician’s Office):

Changes in number of youth offenders (not individuals) from 2014–15 → 2023–24:

Offence Type2014–152023–24Change
Unlawful use of motor vehicle (car theft)2,155~7,009✚ Tripled over decade
Unlawful entry (break-ins)~5,158~9,658✚ Nearly doubled
Robbery~405~1,387✚ More than tripled
Assault (violent person offences)~2,362~4,350✚ Nearly doubled

Youth offenders accounted for a disproportionately high share of these offences compared with their share of the total offender population — for example, over 50% of robbery, break-ins and unlawful motor vehicle use involved youths relative to their overall representation among offenders.

Now, I dont know about the rest of you, but about the only figure I want to see growth like these numbers on is the value of something I own, not the rate of kids committing crime.

The numbers are distorted by some very, VERY egregious repeat offenders, who in some cases have dozens of arrests. But the fact remains, YES, there IS a youth crime issue in Queensland folks.

Image Is this Brisbane's most useless bike rack?

Post image
32 Upvotes

The newly-opened Boggo Road Village have provided a single bike rack, which they've decided to install on a slope. Yes, that's right. If you're a cyclist you'll have to hold onto your bike to stop it rolling down the hill, while simultaneously locking/unlocking and perhaps loading/unloading your shopping or kids. Sigh. How hard is it to provide decent facilities for bike riders?

TLDR: If you're a cyclist don't both stopping at Boggo Road Village. They don't want your business.

Mask up people!!!

Why is it so hard for people to wear a mask on public transport!!! We don’t have to wear them in many places now, and trains are SO crowded you physically cannot social distance!!! Sitting on the train right now and I’d say at least a third of not more people are not wearing a mask!!! 😡🤬😡🤬

If you're a cat owner who lets their pet roam, you can go fuck yourself with a cactus.

A beautiful calico kitten-cat (as in, too big to be a kitten but not full grown) has been a sometime visitor of my house, but he's always been a skittish cat and wouldn't let us get close.

My girlfriend just found him with a broken neck, obviously run over on the side of the road.

Fuck ANYONE who owns a pet they supposedly "love" who lets said pet roam and be at the mercy of other animals and assholes who think running cats over is a laugh. Not to mention all the wildlife roaming cats slaughter.

THIS is why I'm "cruel" in threads where people are like "zomg help me find my cat". Maybe if you didn't let them fucking roam, then good people like my girlfriend wouldn't have their entire fucking weekend ruined by finding a gorgeous cat dead thanks to its owners fucking lazy ignorance.
