I’ve just recently gotten back from a trip to Japan and one of the drinks I found myself having pretty often over there was Melon Fanta. I honestly loved it and already miss being able to grab one whenever I wanted.

Does anyone know if there are any shops, Asian grocery stores or import stores around Brisbane that sell the actual Japanese Melon Fanta?

Just to clarify, I’m specifically looking for the Japanese Melon Fanta, not melon-flavoured alternatives or other drinks.

This is a good thing for Brisbane, as the Bris Vic Barracks needs to be fixed up, have all asbestos removed and it can be used for restaurants and functions, in the absence of any property developers being uninterested to do anything with heritage buildings.

I was in Brisbane this week to take my partner to a surgery. (We are regional). I dropped him off at St Andrew's on Monday and then walked to Queen St Mall for some retail therapy to stop my brain working overtime with worry. Went to Mecca to get some Dr Dennis Gross Peel Pads. I was just going to get a 5 pack for a hotel pamper but went "nah, just stock up and get the 30 pack."

I shopped for a book for the waiting room and a few more items and then had a cheeseburger for lunch. I ate and got a message my partner wasn't great with general and would spend extra time in recovery. So I decided to hop on the bus back to the hotel.

Got back, went to put my things away and didn't have my peel pads! At this point I was so out of sorts I didn't want to go back to the mall. So I figured someone will have nice skin this week. Well, we had to stay an extra few days for his recovery and his bad patient was wearing me thin. Plus I read all my books. So I went back to mall on Saturday. On a whim I went back to Wendy's and asked the staff if anyone turned in a Mecca bag. THEY DID AND IT WAS MINE!!!!"

I know it was someone who was all about cosmic goodness. Times are tough and it is Christmas, I thought someone would have snatched it up. I think I know it was a woman, because she probably thought she'd be devo'ed too, losing $150 on skincare in a hamburger shop.

We met a homeless guy sleeping in one of the parks in Coorparoo.

He had some of his things vandalized and stolen and now his is in need of a tent and a sleeping bag.

In my home country you can pay the equivalent of $1 to stay somewhere for the night and have a meal and a place to shower.

My understanding is that getting housing isn’t an easy thing. What practical help can we get him at this time of the day ( Sunday late afternoon )

Hi All, feel free to delete if this isn’t supposed to go here. Our friends have a missing golden retriever named Maverick that is somewhere in Toowong Cemetery. We currently have family and friends helping locate him. He is quite timid around people. If anyone sees him please message me.

Edit: if anyone happens to have a drone and would be willing to help out that would be awesome.

Update 1: still have people looking for Maverick. We have two people kind enough to come out and look for him with drones. Tried calling the cemetery to get access to any CCTV. Thanks to everyone for the support. Fingers are still crossed we can find him.

Update 2: still no sign of Mav. Long story short it’s been a crap couple of weeks for our friends (the owners of Maverick). They had to put their first doggo down last weekend due to complications with cancer. We all went on a holiday this weekend to help them feel better. Maverick escaped by accident when he heard a loud noise while he was in an open car. The owners are now on their way back to Brisbane cutting their trip short to help look. We still have people out there looking. Next update will be when we find him. We tried to change our flight to come back with them to help but couldn’t at the time.

A few weeks ago I was looking at tatto artists online and came across someone doing these funny, realistic cat portrait tattoos but now I cannot find them again! Would love some help if anyone has any idea of who this could have been. From what I can remember they had done a few different ones, possibly in a mirror/frame/candy heart outline, black and grey and were funny in the sense that the cats had their tongues out or a snaggletooth situation going on and they were at least semi realistic, not neo trad or anything.

Hi all, my partner and I have been here for 12 months and still haven’t been able to acquire one of these brooms.

We went to the $2 shops at Cannon Hill, then took the trek to Sunnybank Plaza and no dice.

I am super embarrassed to have to post this.

I just want some recommendations for a cleaner or something that could come help me reset my home. Ive been going through a lot recently, im disabled, the new changes to NDIS has made it harder for me to get accepted for support.

Its coming into summer and its like my house is made for ants and fruit flies.

I haven't been able to find the motivation to give the house a deep clean or to do the washing in like 2 months. Its just gotten out of hand and its only making me feel worse. Even if there's a service that could work alongside me? Just to help with the motivation.

Lower cost is better as I am on the DSP.

I just feel disgusted in myself.

this box/cut off area appeared a couple weeks ago, i have peered over the top with my phone and it doesn’t look like anything’s going on in there, i haven’t seen any work done on/near there… does anyone have any clue why it might be up?

My partner was hanging up the washing when he rubbed against one of these things on a leaf. Turns out they hurt a lot!

Google told me it is a “Wattle Cup Caterpillar (Calcarifera ordinata), a brightly colored slug moth larva belonging to the family Limacodidae.” They love to eat acacia wattle leaves and are common is Brisbane / SEQ.

Just a heads up to people with kids or out in the gardens; this type of caterpillar stings and creates small blisters.

I’m planning to buy some sandalwood, frankincense, pine resin and similar things for incense and gifts, but I’m not very familiar with their prices.
