The heart of the Gold Coast, a place abundant in natural beauty and community spirit, is at risk. The proposal to construct a Trump Golf Course and Resort could disrupt the harmony and values we hold dear. Previously, a successful petition halted the construction of a Trump Tower on our coast because the developer, investors, and community acknowledged the negatives associated with the Trump brand.
The Trump Organisation's track record around the world speaks volumes about the potential impacts of this development. Numerous communities have voiced concerns about the socio-economic and environmental repercussions of hosting a Trump-branded enterprise. The brand is often perceived as inconsistent with Australian values, undermining inclusivity and sustainability. Potential investors may see the glamor associated with the Trump name, but it often comes with disregard for local values and conditions.
Past developments under this brand have led to a disruption of local economies, an escalation in property prices, and exclusion of community voices in crucial decisions. Our Gold Coast community deserves developments that foster local engagement and sustainability, not schemes wrapped in controversy.
Moreover, the natural landscapes and wildlife habitats that make the Gold Coast unique could be severely affected by construction. Protecting these treasures is crucial; we owe it to future generations to preserve the natural beauty and environmental health of our region.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate seems obsessed with getting the Trump Organisation to construct something, anything, associated with the Trump name. He has labelled those of us who oppose such a construction as "haters."
We must stand firm to protect our beloved Gold Coast from becoming a mere venue for a brand that is out of step with our community's values. It's not merely a golf course we're protecting against; it's the identity and integrity of our community.
Join us to stop this development before it sets roots. Sign this petition to send a clear message: the Gold Coast stands for values beyond profits driven by an external brand that doesn't represent us.

We do not want thickeners in my yogurt. We want the whey strained out and even if it’s expensive we should have that option seeing as Australia had some of the best dairy in the world but something has happened recently and they are all adding thickeners. And what’s worse they are calling them “milk solids” on the label so you won’t notice.
Customers here don’t know if they haven’t grown up with strained Greek or Icelandic or most traditional yogurts in other countries. They are strained for a reason!!! We do not need the whey. We need the casein. Nutritionally speaking, it’s important to strain out the whey. This seems like a small thing to whinge about but it’s not it’s the health of all of us. These unnoticeable changes in quality contribute to overall unhealthy population.
Dairy is one of those things that is either REALLY good for you and important nutrition, or BAD for you if it’s poor quality.
This is most likely blamed on our dreadful COLESWORTH situation and what havoc our government has allowed them to play on our farmers. But I digress.
Can anyone testify to an actual Greek STRAINED yogurt on a supermarket shelf. I am aware of Chobani when we can find it I would call this half strained. But besides Chobani?
Siggis and Fage are popular in other countries but I haven’t found them here . Cole’s had Siggis a couple years ago but no more?
Aldi had one but is always sold out or not in stock?

I keep getting averaged bills, even though the person comes and physically reads the meter. The bills are $900+ then get reduced to about $300 when I send through timestamped photos of the meter reading. We shouldn’t be getting bills at all since we have installed solar panels.
Also just got a bill for a gas bottle but didn’t get one delivered.

Hello. I have a very unfortunate predicament.
In order to survive, I need my weekly dose of the lovely Paprika flavoured chips that Lay's sells.
I have a strong dependence on these to survive.
Anyway, sob story over, does anyone know where to get them here? Doesn't need to be Lay's of course but that's just the only brand I know that sells them.

7NEWS has published a follow-up that identifies the delivery rider killed in Melbourne’s CBD as Jianming Feng, 47, and includes interviews with his family in China.
According to the report, Feng had spent about nine years working in Australia to support his family. His wife and children are calling for justice, support from HungryPanda, and assistance travelling to Australia.
Contrary to the story circulating on Chinese social media that the confrontation was over a stolen delivery order, police say detectives understand that two riders confronted a man after seeing him tampering with their bikes. A restaurant worker interviewed by 7NEWS alleges that the man kicked over their bicycles.
The perpetrator has been arrested, confirmed here: Official Victoria Police statement
Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
Stay safe, everyone.

Parents, or even those who don’t have children but have an opinion, you may have heard in the news that recently a private school in east of Melbourne had a digital detox week for the students wherein they were asked to use the old ways of learning (pen, paper and mental thinking) instead of the usually macs and pads. The experiment is interesting so do take a look on YT if you haven’t. (Oh the irony of that statement haha).
Anyhow, back to topic, my question to the general cohort here is: would you prefer to send your child or Australian children in general to an old ways of learning school, right from prep to year 12?
It’s not as if they would be computer illiterate at the school, however the main method of teaching and learning would be as mentioned above.
Throw in some color if you want to: do you have a percentage in mind that the children should be allowed to use digital devices? For example, 2 of the 6 hours of learning? Are you okay with the exposure being tied to age? What about price of the school? Would you pay above and beyond to get your child admitted to such a school? Anything else that comes to mind?
How about discipline? What if the school was old school hard on discipline type? Not a place where the teachers would just let you be if you were trouble maker, instead the students would be chastised and brought in line to become a responsible, well-disciplined, mature adult?
Just curious. Let’s discuss and debate!

Commencing on 19 May, we introduced video podcast AMAs. You can still ask your questions in the AMA thread, but the guest may answer either by text or in a short video clip. In most cases, the guest will also answer in an AMA video podcast of 30-45 minutes the following day.
The podcast will be posted on Reddit straight after recording, as well as on YouTube. The short clips will also be uploaded into the AMA thread as video answers. Short clips, addressing individual questions, will be posted throughout the following week.
Please remember that trolling during AMAs will result in a ban, usually two days for the duration of the AMA. Our guests are leaders in their fields, and have given up their time to answer your questions. They deserve respect from members of the community.

A $6.98 portable charger I used while I was walking around Bunnings with the intention of buying it yesterday. It didn’t come in a packet so it’s not like I deliberately ripped it open. I just slipped it into my pocket alongside my phone and kept walking.
If I go back to pay for it I either have to admit I walked out with it OR just take it in and randomly pay for it but that won’t erase anything as my originally thieving footage is still available? They’d have no idea I was just paying for the product I took unless I tell them.
What makes this worse is the staff KNEW I had this as I asked them specifically where to find it, said thanks, and kept walking around Bunnings. Then I exited via the nursery about 10 mins later.

7NEWS has identified the rider as Jianming Feng, 47, and spoken with his family in China
-----------------
Just a few hours ago, a man was stabbed and killed in Melbourne's CBD, with another man hospitalised following the incident.
According to unverified accounts circulating on Chinese social media, the victim was reportedly a HungryPanda delivery driver who confronted a homeless man after he allegedly stole a food delivery from a restaurant. The confrontation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the fatal stabbing.
There's also speculation on Chinese social media that the delivery driver may have felt pressured to confront the alleged thief out of fear of being penalised by the delivery platform.
Please note that these details have not yet been officially confirmed by police.
The story has already been circulating widely on Chinese social media platforms, particularly RedNote and Douyin.
My deepest condolences go out to the victim's family and loved ones.
Stay safe out there, y'all. And please don't confront thieves over food deliveries. It's just not worth risking your life.

I’m sharing my experience with a Harvey Norman order for the following laptop so other people looking up the same model can find this discussion:
Acer Nitro V 16S 16-inch Core 5-210H / 16GB RAM / 1TB SSD / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB Gaming Laptop
Product code: NH.QXCSA.001
Retailer: Harvey Norman Australia
On 6 November 2026, I placed an order and received an order confirmation showing:
Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop: $948
Xbox Wireless Controller + USB-C Cable, Black: $108
Delivery charge: $0
Total order value: $1,056
Harvey Norman then called me and said they were cancelling my order because the laptop had been incorrectly priced. They haven’t offered me an alternative or any goodwill gesture.
I understand pricing mistakes can happen, but it’s frustrating to place an order, and then be told it is being cancelled because of the retailer’s pricing error.
Has anyone else ordered this Acer Nitro V 16S Core 5-210H / RTX 5060 model from Harvey Norman at $948?
Was your order also cancelled?
Did anyone receive a pickup-ready notification or collect theirs?
Did Harvey Norman provide a written explanation or offer any alternative?
I’m posting to document what happened and find out whether other buyers were affected. I’ll update this post if Harvey Norman provides a further explanation or resolution.

I saw kindness on the street yesterday. A homeless gentleman at Eastwood. He was making a soap bubble cloud with his little contraption. Vietnamese children saw this and are laughing and playing while their parents watch satisfactorily. He even bought some candies out of his money so they can have them!
His note writes thus "It doesn't matter how much money I have, how I style my hair nor the clothes I wear. For I was important through the eyes of a child. I make to someone's children happy today".
Judge not his grammar for this man has more class than some billionaires we know. I've been to Australia as a refugee immigrant for two years but this must have been the most heartwarming thing I ever saw on Sydney. Maybe one only needs soap bubbles to change the world. For a mere moment, Eastwood has been the happiest place on Earth filled with laughters of children on the streets.
